| [2]And it was don, whanne he hadde endid for to ete the erbe of erthe, Y seide, Lord God, Y biseche, be thou merciful; who schal reise Jacob, for he is litil? |

| [4]The Lord God schewide to me these thingis; and lo! the Lord God schal clepe doom to fier, and it schal deuoure myche depthe of watir, and it eet togidere a part. |
[4]Thus hath the LordH136 GODH3069 shewedH7200[H8689] unto me: and, behold, the LordH136 GODH3069 calledH7121[H8802] to contendH7378[H8800] by fireH784, and it devouredH398[H8799] the greatH7227 deepH8415, and did eat upH398[H8804] a partH2506. |
| [5]And Y seide, Lord God, Y biseche, reste thou; who schal reise Jacob, for he is litil? |

| [7]The Lord God schewide to me these thingis; and lo! the Lord stondinge on a wal plastrid, and in the hond of hym was a trulle of a masoun. |
[7]Thus he shewedH7200[H8689] me: and, behold, the LordH136 stoodH5324[H8737] upon a wallH2346 made by a plumblineH594, with a plumblineH594 in his handH3027. |
| [8]And the Lord seide to me, What seest thou, Amos? And Y seide, A trulle of a masoun. And the Lord seide, Lo! I schal putte a trulle in the myddil of my puple Israel; Y schal no more putte to, for to ouerlede it; |

| [9]and the hiy thingis of idol schulen be distried, and the halewyngis of Israel schulen be desolat; and Y schal rise on the hous of Jeroboam bi swerd. |
[9]And the high placesH1116 of IsaacH3446 shall be desolateH8074[H8738], and the sanctuariesH4720 of IsraelH3478 shall be laid wasteH2717[H8799]; and I will riseH6965[H8804] against the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 with the swordH2719. |
| [10]And Amasie, prest of Bethel, sente to Jeroboam, kyng of Israel, and seide, Amos rebellide ayens thee, in the myddil of the hous of Israel; the lond mai not susteyne alle hise wordis. |
[10]Then AmaziahH558 the priestH3548 of BethelH1008 sentH7971[H8799] to JeroboamH3379 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559[H8800], AmosH5986 hath conspiredH7194[H8804] against thee in the midstH7130 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: the landH776 is not ableH3201[H8799] to bearH3557[H8687] all his wordsH1697. |
| [11]For Amos seith these thingis, Jeroboam schal die bi swerd, and Israel caitif schal passe fro his lond. |
[11]For thus AmosH5986 saithH559[H8804], JeroboamH3379 shall dieH4191[H8799] by the swordH2719, and IsraelH3478 shall surelyH1540[H8800] be led away captiveH1540[H8799] out of their own landH127. |
| [12]And Amasie seide to Amos, Thou that seest, go; fle thou in to the lond of Juda, and ete thou there thi breed; and there thou schalt profesie. |
[12]Also AmaziahH558 saidH559[H8799] unto AmosH5986, O thou seerH2374, goH3212[H8798], flee thee awayH1272[H8798] into the landH776 of JudahH3063, and there eatH398[H8798] breadH3899, and prophesyH5012 thereH8735: |
| [13]And thou schalt no more put to, that thou profesie in Bethel, for it is the halewyng of the king, and is the hous of the rewme. |
[13]But prophesyH5012[H8736] not againH3254[H8686] any more at BethelH1008: for it is the king'sH4428 chapelH4720, and it is the king'sH4467 courtH1004. |
| [14]And Amos answeride, and seide to Amasie, Y am not a profete, and Y am not sone of profete; but an herde of neet Y am, drawyng vp sicomoris. |
[14]Then answeredH6030[H8799] AmosH5986, and saidH559[H8799] to AmaziahH558, I was no prophetH5030, neither was I a prophet'sH5030 sonH1121; but I was an herdmanH951, and a gathererH1103[H8802] of sycomore fruitH8256: |
| [15]And the Lord took me, whanne Y suede the floc; and the Lord seide to me, Go, and profesie thou to my puple Israel. |
[15]And the LORDH3068 tookH3947[H8799] me as I followedH310 the flockH6629, and the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto me, GoH3212[H8798], prophesyH5012[H8734] unto my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478. |
| [16]And now here thou the word of the Lord. Thou seist, Thou schalt not profesie on Israel, and thou schal not droppe on the hous of idol. |
[16]Now therefore hearH8085[H8798] thou the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068: Thou sayestH559[H8802], ProphesyH5012[H8735] not against IsraelH3478, and dropH5197[H8686] not thy word against the houseH1004 of IsaacH3446. |
| [17]For this thing the Lord seith these thingis, Thi wijf schal do fornicacioun in the citee, and thi sones and thi douytris schal falle bi swerd, and thi lond schal be motun with a litil coord; and thou schalt die in a pollutid lond, and Israel caitif schal passe fro his lond. |
[17]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; Thy wifeH802 shall be an harlotH2181[H8799] in the cityH5892, and thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323 shall fallH5307[H8799] by the swordH2719, and thy landH127 shall be dividedH2505[H8792] by lineH2256; and thou shalt dieH4191[H8799] inH5921 a pollutedH2931 landH127: and IsraelH3478 shall surelyH1540[H8800] go into captivityH1540[H8799] forth of his landH127. |
