[1]Then Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the ordinances and the laws which I propose to you this day, that ye may learn them, and take heed to observe them. |

[2]The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. |

[3]The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers only, but with us, even with us all here alive this day. |

[4]The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount, out of the midst of the fire. |

[5](At that time I stood between the Lord and you, to declare unto you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid at the sight of the fire, and went not up into the mount, and he said, |

[6]I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. |

[7]Thou shalt have none other gods before my face. |
| [8]Thou shalt not makeH6213[H8799] thee any graven imageH6459, or any likenessH8544 of any thing that is in heavenH8064 aboveH4605, or that is in the earthH776 beneath, or that is in the watersH4325 beneath the earthH776: |
[8]Thou shalt make thee no graven image or any likeness of that that is in heaven above, or which is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth. |

[9]Thou shalt neither bow thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, even unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: |

[10]And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. |

[11]Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. |
| [12]KeepH8104[H8800] the sabbathH7676 dayH3117 to sanctifyH6942[H8763] it, as the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath commandedH6680 theeH8765. |
[12]Keep the Sabbath day, to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. |

[13]Six days thou shalt labor, and shalt do all thy work: |

[14]But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt not do any work therein, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maid, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, neither any of thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within thy gates: that thy manservant and thy maid may rest as well as thou. |

[15]For, remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence by a mighty hand and a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to observe the Sabbath day. |

[16]Honor thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee, that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee upon the land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee. |

[21]Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor's wife, neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's house, his field, nor his manservant, nor his maid, his ox, nor his ass, nor ought that thy neighbor hath. |

[22]These words the Lord spake unto all your multitude in the mount out of the midst of the fire, the cloud and the darkness, with a great voice, and added no more thereto: and wrote them upon two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me. |
| [23]And it came to pass, when ye heardH8085[H8800] the voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the darknessH2822, (for the mountainH2022 did burnH1197[H8802] with fireH784,) that ye came nearH7126[H8799] unto me, even all the headsH7218 of your tribesH7626, and your eldersH2205; |
[23]And when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire) then ye came to me, all the chief of your tribes, and your elders: |
| [24]And ye saidH559[H8799], Behold, the LORDH3068 our GodH430 hath shewedH7200[H8689] us his gloryH3519 and his greatnessH1433, and we have heardH8085[H8804] his voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784: we have seenH7200[H8804] this dayH3117 that GodH430 doth talkH1696[H8762] with manH120, and he livethH2425.[H8804] |
[24]And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. |
| [25]Now therefore why should we dieH4191[H8799]? for this greatH1419 fireH784 will consumeH398[H8799] us: if we hearH8085[H8800] the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 our GodH430 any moreH3254[H8802], then we shall dieH4191.[H8804] |
[25]Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, we shall die. |
| [26]For who is there of all fleshH1320, that hath heardH8085[H8804] the voiceH6963 of the livingH2416 GodH430 speakingH1696[H8764] out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784, as we have, and livedH2421?[H8799] |
[26]For what flesh was there ever, that heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire as we have, and lived? |
| [27]Go thou nearH7126[H8798], and hearH8085[H8798] all that the LORDH3068 our GodH430 shall sayH559[H8799]: and speakH1696[H8762] thou unto us all that the LORDH3068 our GodH430 shall speakH1696[H8762] unto thee; and we will hearH8085[H8804] it, and doH6213 itH8804. |
[27]Go thou near and hear all that the Lord our God saith: and declare thou unto us all that the Lord our God saith unto thee, and we will hear it, and do it. |
| [28]And the LORDH3068 heardH8085[H8799] the voiceH6963 of your wordsH1697, when ye spakeH1696[H8763] unto me; and the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799] unto me, I have heardH8085[H8804] the voiceH6963 of the wordsH1697 of this peopleH5971, which they have spokenH1696[H8765] unto thee: they have wellH3190[H8689] said all that they have spokenH1696.[H8765] |
[28]Then the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me: and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said, all that they have spoken. |
| [29]O that there were suchH2088 anH4310 heartH3824 in themH5414[H8799], that they would fearH3372[H8800] me, and keepH8104[H8800] all my commandmentsH4687 alwaysH3117, that it might be wellH3190[H8799] with them, and with their childrenH1121 for everH5769! |
[29]Oh that there were such an heart in them to fear me, and to keep all my commandments alway: that it might go well with them, and with their children forever. |

[30]Go, say unto them, Return you into your tents. |

[31]But stand thou here with me, and I will tell thee all the commandments, and the ordinances, and the laws, which thou shalt teach them: that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it. |
| [32]Ye shall observeH8104[H8804] to doH6213[H8800] therefore as the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath commandedH6680[H8765] you: ye shall not turn asideH5493[H8799] to the right handH3225 or to the leftH8040. |
[32]Take heed therefore, that ye do as the Lord your God hath commanded you: turn not aside to the right hand nor to the left, |
| [33]Ye shall walkH3212[H8799] in all the waysH1870 which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath commandedH6680[H8765] you, that ye may liveH2421[H8799], and that it may be wellH2895[H8804] with you, and that ye may prolongH748[H8689] your daysH3117 in the landH776 which ye shall possessH3423.[H8799] |
[33]But walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may go well with you: and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. |
