[1]When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall root out many nations before thee: the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou, |
| [2]And when the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall deliverH5414[H8804] them beforeH6440 thee; thou shalt smiteH5221[H8689] them, and utterlyH2763[H8687] destroyH2763[H8686] them; thou shalt makeH3772[H8799] no covenantH1285 with them, nor shew mercyH2603 unto themH8799: |
[2]And the Lord thy God shall give them before thee, then thou shalt smite them: thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor have compassion on them, |
| [3]Neither shalt thou make marriagesH2859[H8691] with them; thy daughterH1323 thou shalt not giveH5414[H8799] unto his sonH1121, nor his daughterH1323 shalt thou takeH3947[H8799] unto thy sonH1121. |
[3]Neither shalt thou make marriages with them, neither give thy daughter unto his son, nor take his daughter unto thy son. |
| [4]For they will turn awayH5493[H8686] thy sonH1121 from followingH310 me, that they may serveH5647[H8804] otherH312 godsH430: so will the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 be kindledH2734[H8804] against you, and destroyH8045[H8689] thee suddenlyH4118. |
[4]For they will cause thy son to turn away from me, and to serve other gods: then will the wrath of the Lord wax hot against you and destroy thee suddenly. |
| [5]But thus shall ye dealH6213[H8799] with them; ye shall destroyH5422[H8799] their altarsH4196, and break downH7665[H8762] their imagesH4676, and cut downH1438[H8762] their grovesH842, and burnH8313[H8799] their graven imagesH6456 with fireH784. |
[5]But thus ye shall deal with them, Ye shall overthrow their altars, and break down their pillars, and ye shall cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire. |
| [6]For thou art an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH430: the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath chosenH977[H8804] thee to be a specialH5459 peopleH5971 unto himself, above all peopleH5971 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH127. |
[6]For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, the Lord thy God hath chosen thee, to be a precious people unto himself, above all people that are upon the earth. |
| [7]The LORDH3068 did not set his loveH2836[H8804] upon you, nor chooseH977[H8799] you, because ye were moreH7230 in number than any peopleH5971; for ye were the fewestH4592 of all peopleH5971: |
[7]The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people: for ye were the fewest of all people: |
| [8]But because the LORDH3068 lovedH160 you, and because he would keepH8104[H8800] the oathH7621 which he had swornH7650[H8738] unto your fathersH1, hath the LORDH3068 brought you outH3318[H8689] with a mightyH2389 handH3027, and redeemedH6299[H8799] you out of the houseH1004 of bondmenH5650, from the handH3027 of PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714. |
[8]But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, the Lord hath brought you out by a mighty hand, and delivered you out of the house of bondage from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, |

[9]That thou mayest know, that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God which keepeth covenant and mercy unto them that love him and keep his commandments, even to a thousand generations, |
| [10]And repayethH7999[H8764] them that hateH8130[H8802] him to their faceH6440, to destroyH6[H8687] them: he will not be slackH309[H8762] to him that hatethH8130[H8802] him, he will repayH7999[H8762] him to his faceH6440. |
[10]And rewardeth them to their face that hate him, to bring them to destruction: he will not defer to reward him that hateth him, to his face. |
| [11]Thou shalt therefore keepH8104[H8804] the commandmentsH4687, and the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which I commandH6680[H8764] thee this dayH3117, to doH6213 themH8800. |
[11]Keep thou therefore the commandments, and the ordinances, and the laws, which I command thee this day to do them. |
| [12]Wherefore it shall come to pass, ifH6118 ye hearkenH8085[H8799] to these judgmentsH4941, and keepH8104[H8804], and doH6213[H8804] them, that the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall keepH8104[H8804] unto thee the covenantH1285 and the mercyH2617 which he swareH7650[H8738] unto thy fathersH1: |
[12]For if ye hearken unto these laws, and observe and do them, then the Lord thy God shall keep with thee the covenant, and the mercy which he swear unto thy fathers. |
| [13]And he will loveH157[H8804] thee, and blessH1288[H8765] thee, and multiplyH7235[H8689] thee: he will also blessH1288[H8765] the fruitH6529 of thy wombH990, and the fruitH6529 of thy landH127, thy cornH1715, and thy wineH8492, and thine oilH3323, the increaseH7698 of thy kineH504, and the flocksH6251 of thy sheepH6629, in the landH127 which he swareH7650[H8738] unto thy fathersH1 to giveH5414 theeH8800. |
[13]And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn and thy wine, and thine oil and the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep in the land, which he swear unto thy fathers to give thee. |
| [14]Thou shalt be blessedH1288[H8803] above all peopleH5971: there shall not be maleH6135 or female barrenH6135 among you, or among your cattleH929. |
[14]Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall be neither male nor female barren among you, nor among your cattle. |
| [15]And the LORDH3068 will take awayH5493[H8689] from thee all sicknessH2483, and will putH7760[H8799] none of the evilH7451 diseasesH4064 of EgyptH4714, which thou knowestH3045[H8804], upon thee; but will layH5414[H8804] them upon all them that hateH8130 theeH8802. |
[15]Moreover, the Lord will take away from thee all infirmities, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt (which thou knowest) upon thee, but will send them upon all that hate thee. |
| [16]And thou shalt consumeH398[H8804] all the peopleH5971 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall deliverH5414[H8802] thee; thine eyeH5869 shall have no pityH2347[H8799] upon them: neither shalt thou serveH5647[H8799] their godsH430; for that will be a snare unto theeH4170. |
[16]Thou shalt therefore consume all people which the Lord thy God shall give thee: thine eye shall not spare them, neither shalt thou serve their gods, for that shall be thy destruction. |
| [17]If thou shalt sayH559[H8799] in thine heartH3824, These nationsH1471 are moreH7227 than I; howH349 canH3201[H8799] I dispossessH3423 themH8687? |
[17]If thou say in thine heart, These nations are more than I, how can I cast them out? |
| [18]Thou shalt not be afraidH3372[H8799] of them: but shalt wellH2142[H8800] rememberH2142[H8799] what the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 didH6213[H8804] unto PharaohH6547, and unto all EgyptH4714; |
[18]Thou shalt not fear them, but remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt: |
| [19]The greatH1419 temptationsH4531 which thine eyesH5869 sawH7200[H8804], and the signsH226, and the wondersH4159, and the mightyH2389 handH3027, and the stretched outH5186[H8803] armH2220, whereby the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 brought thee outH3318[H8689]: so shall the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 doH6213[H8799] unto all the peopleH5971 of whom thou art afraidH3373.[H6440] |
[19]The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs and wonders, and the mighty hand and stretched out arm, whereby the Lord thy God brought thee out: so shall the Lord thy God do unto all the people, whose face thou fearest. |
| [20]Moreover the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 will sendH7971[H8762] the hornetH6880 among them, until they that are leftH7604[H8737], and hideH5641[H8737] themselves fromH6440 thee, be destroyedH6.[H8800] |
[20]Moreover, the Lord thy God will send hornets among them until they that are left, and hide themselves from thee, be destroyed. |
| [21]Thou shalt not be affrightedH6206[H8799] atH6440 them: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 is amongH7130 you, a mightyH1419 GodH410 and terribleH3372.[H8737] |
[21]Thou shalt not fear them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a God mighty and dreadful. |
| [22]And the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 will put outH5394[H8804] thoseH411 nationsH1471 beforeH6440 thee by littleH4592 and littleH4592: thou mayestH3201[H8799] not consumeH3615[H8763] them at onceH4118, lest the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 increaseH7235 upon theeH8799. |
[22]And the Lord thy God will root out these nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee. |
| [23]But the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 shall deliverH5414[H8804] them unto theeH6440, and shall destroyH1949[H8804] them with a mightyH1419 destructionH4103, until they be destroyedH8045.[H8736] |
[23]But the Lord thy God shall give them before thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be brought to naught. |
| [24]And he shall deliverH5414[H8804] their kingsH4428 into thine handH3027, and thou shalt destroyH6[H8689] their nameH8034 from under heavenH8064: there shall no manH376 be able to standH3320[H8691] beforeH6440 thee, until thou have destroyedH8045 themH8687. |
[24]And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou hast destroyed them. |
| [25]The graven imagesH6456 of their godsH430 shall ye burnH8313[H8799] with fireH784: thou shalt not desireH2530[H8799] the silverH3701 or goldH2091 that is on them, nor takeH3947[H8804] it unto thee, lest thou be snaredH3369[H8735] therein: for it is an abominationH8441 to the LORDH3068 thy GodH430. |
[25]The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire, and covet not the silver and gold, that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therewith: for it is an abomination before the Lord thy God. |
| [26]Neither shalt thou bringH935[H8686] an abominationH8441 into thine houseH1004, lest thou be a cursed thingH2764 like it: but thou shalt utterlyH8262[H8763] detestH8262[H8762] it, and thou shalt utterlyH8581[H8763] abhorH8581[H8762] it; for it is a cursed thingH2764. |
[26]Bring not therefore abomination into thine house, lest, thou be accursed like it, but utterly abhor it, and count it most abominable: for it is accursed. |
