[1]And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| [2]SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760[H8798] thy faceH6440 against GogH1463, the landH776 of MagogH4031, the chiefH7218 princeH5387 of MeshechH4902 and TubalH8422, and prophesyH5012 against himH8734, |
[2]Son of man, set thy face against Gog, and against the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, |
| [3]And sayH559[H8804], Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Behold, I am against thee, O GogH1463, the chiefH7218 princeH5387 of MeshechH4902 and TubalH8422: |
[3]And say, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Gog the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. |
| [4]And I will turn thee backH7725[H8790], and putH5414[H8804] hooksH2397 into thy jawsH3895, and I will bring thee forthH3318[H8689], and all thine armyH2428, horsesH5483 and horsemenH6571, all of them clothedH3847[H8803] with all sortsH4358 of armour, even a greatH7227 companyH6951 with bucklersH6793 and shieldsH4043, all of them handlingH8610[H8802] swordsH2719: |
[4]And I will destroy thee, and put hooks in thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine host both horses, and horsemen, all clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great multitude with bucklers, and shields, all handling swords. |
| [5]PersiaH6539, EthiopiaH3568, and LibyaH6316 with them; all of them with shieldH4043 and helmetH3553: |
[5]They of Paras, of Cush, and Put with them, even all they that bear shield and helmet. |
| [6]GomerH1586, and all his bandsH102; the houseH1004 of TogarmahH8425 of the northH6828 quartersH3411, and all his bandsH102: and manyH7227 people with theeH5971. |
[6]Gomer and all his bands, and the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands, and much people with thee. |
| [7]Be thou preparedH3559[H8734], and prepareH3559[H8685] for thyself, thou, and all thy companyH6951 that are assembledH6950[H8737] unto thee, and be thou a guard unto themH4929. |
[7]Prepare thyself, and make thee ready, both thou, and all thy multitude, that are assembled unto thee, and be thou their safeguard. |
| [8]After manyH7227 daysH3117 thou shalt be visitedH6485[H8735]: in the latterH319 yearsH8141 thou shalt comeH935[H8799] into the landH776 that is brought backH7725[H8796] from the swordH2719, and is gatheredH6908[H8794] out of manyH7227 peopleH5971, against the mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, which have been alwaysH8548 wasteH2723: but it is brought forthH3318[H8717] out of the nationsH5971, and they shall dwellH3427[H8804] safely all of themH983. |
[8]After many days thou shalt be visited: for in the latter years thou shalt come into the land, that hath been destroyed with the sword, and is gathered out of many people upon the mountains of Israel, which have long lain waste: yet they have been brought out of the people, and they shall dwell all safe. |
| [9]Thou shalt ascendH5927[H8804] and comeH935[H8799] like a stormH7722, thou shalt be like a cloudH6051 to coverH3680[H8763] the landH776, thou, and all thy bandsH102, and manyH7227 people with theeH5971. |
[9]Thou shalt ascend and come up like a tempest, and shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, both thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. |
| [10]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; It shall also come to pass, that at the same timeH3117 shall thingsH1697 comeH5927[H8799] into thy mindH3824, and thou shalt thinkH2803[H8804] an evilH7451 thoughtH4284: |
[10]Thus saith the Lord God, Even at the same time shall many things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think evil thoughts. |
| [11]And thou shalt sayH559[H8804], I will go upH5927[H8799] to the landH776 of unwalled villagesH6519; I will goH935[H8799] to them that are at restH8252[H8802], that dwellH3427[H8802] safelyH983, all of them dwellingH3427[H8802] without wallsH2346, and having neither barsH1280 nor gatesH1817, |
[11]And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land that hath no walled towers: I will go to them that are at rest, and dwell in safety, which dwell all without walls, and have neither bars nor gates, |
| [12]To takeH7997[H8800] a spoilH7998, and to takeH962[H8800] a preyH957; to turnH7725[H8687] thine handH3027 upon the desolate placesH2723 that are now inhabitedH3427[H8737], and upon the peopleH5971 that are gatheredH622[H8794] out of the nationsH1471, which have gottenH6213[H8802] cattleH4735 and goodsH7075, that dwellH3427[H8802] in the midstH2872 of the landH776. |
[12]Thinking to spoil the prey, and to take a booty, to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people, that are gathered out of the nations which have gotten cattle and goods, and dwell in the midst of the land. |
| [13]ShebaH7614, and DedanH1719, and the merchantsH5503[H8802] of TarshishH8659, with all the young lionsH3715 thereof, shall sayH559[H8799] unto thee, Art thou comeH935[H8802] to takeH7997[H8800] a spoilH7998? hast thou gatheredH6950[H8689] thy companyH6951 to takeH962[H8800] a preyH957? to carry awayH5375[H8800] silverH3701 and goldH2091, to take awayH3947[H8800] cattleH4735 and goodsH7075, to takeH7997[H8800] a greatH1419 spoilH7998? |
[13]Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish with all the lions thereof shall say unto thee, Art thou come to spoil the prey? Hast thou gathered thy multitude to take a booty? To carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, and to spoil a great prey? |
| [14]Therefore, sonH1121 of manH120, prophesyH5012[H8734] and sayH559[H8804] unto GogH1463, Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; In that dayH3117 when my peopleH5971 of IsraelH3478 dwellethH3427[H8800] safelyH983, shalt thou not knowH3045 itH8799? |
[14]Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God, In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safe, shalt thou not know it? |
| [15]And thou shalt comeH935[H8804] from thy placeH4725 out of the northH6828 partsH3411, thou, and manyH7227 peopleH5971 with thee, all of them ridingH7392[H8802] upon horsesH5483, a greatH1419 companyH6951, and a mightyH7227 armyH2428: |
[15]And come from thy place out of the north parts, thou and much people with thee? All shall ride upon horses, even a great multitude and a mighty army. |
| [16]And thou shalt come upH5927[H8804] against my peopleH5971 of IsraelH3478, as a cloudH6051 to coverH3680[H8763] the landH776; it shall be in the latterH319 daysH3117, and I will bringH935[H8689] thee against my landH776, that the heathenH1471 may knowH3045[H8800] me, when I shall be sanctifiedH6942[H8736] in thee, O GogH1463, before their eyesH5869. |
[16]And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: thou shalt be in the latter days, and I will bring thee upon my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. |
| [17]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; Art thou he of whom I have spokenH1696[H8765] in oldH6931 timeH3117 byH3027 my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030 of IsraelH3478, which prophesiedH5012[H8737] in those daysH3117 many yearsH8141 that I would bringH935 thee against themH8687? |
[17]Thus saith the Lord God, Art not thou he, of whom I have spoken in old time, by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel which prophesied in those days and years, that I would bring thee upon them? |
| [18]And it shall come to pass at the same timeH3117 whenH3117 GogH1463 shall comeH935[H8800] against the landH127 of IsraelH3478, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069, that my furyH2534 shall come upH5927[H8799] in my faceH639. |
[18]At the same time also when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord God, my wrath shall arise in mine anger. |
| [19]For in my jealousyH7068 and in the fireH784 of my wrathH5678 have I spokenH1696[H8765], Surely in that dayH3117 there shall be a greatH1419 shakingH7494 in the landH127 of IsraelH3478; |
[19]For in mine indignation and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken it: surely at that time there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel, |
| [20]So that the fishesH1709 of the seaH3220, and the fowlsH5775 of the heavenH8064, and the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704, and all creeping thingsH7431 that creepH7430[H8802] upon the earthH127, and all the menH120 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH127, shall shakeH7493[H8804] at my presenceH6440, and the mountainsH2022 shall be thrown downH2040[H8738], and the steep placesH4095 shall fallH5307[H8804], and every wallH2346 shall fallH5307[H8799] to the groundH776. |
[20]So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field and all that move and creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the earth, shall tremble at my presence, and the mountains shall be overthrown, and the stairs shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. |
| [21]And I will callH7121[H8804] for a swordH2719 against him throughout all my mountainsH2022, saithH5002[H8803] the LordH136 GODH3069: every man'sH376 swordH2719 shall be against his brotherH251. |
[21]For I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be against his brother. |
| [22]And I will pleadH8199[H8738] against him with pestilenceH1698 and with bloodH1818; and I will rainH4305[H8686] upon him, and upon his bandsH102, and upon the manyH7227 peopleH5971 that are with him, an overflowingH7857[H8802] rainH1653, and great hailstonesH417[H68], fireH784, and brimstoneH1614. |
[22]And I will plead against him with pestilence, and with blood, and I will cause to rain upon him and upon his bands, and upon the great people, that are with him, a sore rain, and hailstones, fire, and brimstone. |
| [23]Thus will I magnifyH1431[H8694] myself, and sanctifyH6942[H8694] myself; and I will be knownH3045[H8738] in the eyesH5869 of manyH7227 nationsH1471, and they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[23]Thus will I be magnified, and sanctified, and known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know, that I am the Lord. |
