[1]Thou also son of man, take thee a brick, and lay it before thee, and portray upon it the city, even Jerusalem, [1]Thou also, sonH1121 of manH120, takeH3947[H8798] thee a tileH3843, and layH5414[H8804] it beforeH6440 thee, and pourtrayH2710[H8804] upon it the cityH5892, even JerusalemH3389:
[2]And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it: set the camp also against it, and lay engines of war against it round about. [2]And layH5414[H8804] siegeH4692 against it, and buildH1129[H8804] a fortH1785 against it, and castH8210[H8804] a mountH5550 against it; setH5414[H8804] the campH4264 also against it, and setH7760[H8798] battering ramsH3733 against it round aboutH5439.
[3]Moreover, take an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city, and direct thy face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it: this shall be a sign unto the house of Israel. [3]Moreover takeH3947[H8798] thou unto thee an ironH1270 panH4227, and setH5414[H8804] it for a wallH7023 of ironH1270 between thee and the cityH5892: and setH3559[H8689] thy faceH6440 against it, and it shall be besiegedH4692, and thou shalt lay siegeH6696[H8804] against it. This shall be a signH226 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.
[4]Sleep thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days, that thou shalt sleep upon it, thou shalt bear their iniquity. [4]LieH7901[H8798] thou also upon thy leftH8042 sideH6654, and layH7760[H8804] the iniquityH5771 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 upon it: according to the numberH4557 of the daysH3117 that thou shalt lieH7901[H8799] upon it thou shalt bearH5375[H8799] their iniquityH5771.
[5]For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, even three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. [5]For I have laidH5414[H8804] upon thee the yearsH8141 of their iniquityH5771, according to the numberH4557 of the daysH3117, threeH7969 hundredH3967 and ninetyH8673 daysH3117: so shalt thou bearH5375[H8804] the iniquityH5771 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.
[6]And when thou hast accomplished them, sleep again upon thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee a day for a year, even a day for a year. [6]And when thou hast accomplishedH3615[H8765] themH428, lieH7901[H8804] againH8145 on thy rightH3233[H8675][H3227] sideH6654, and thou shalt bearH5375[H8804] the iniquityH5771 of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 fortyH705 daysH3117: I have appointedH5414[H8804] thee each dayH3117[H3117] for a yearH8141.[H8141]
[7]Therefore thou shalt direct thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it. [7]Therefore thou shalt setH3559[H8686] thy faceH6440 toward the siegeH4692 of JerusalemH3389, and thine armH2220 shall be uncoveredH2834[H8803], and thou shalt prophesyH5012 against itH8738.
[8]And behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege. [8]And, behold, I will layH5414[H8804] bandsH5688 upon thee, and thou shalt not turnH2015[H8735] thee from one sideH6654 to anotherH6654, till thou hast endedH3615[H8763] the daysH3117 of thy siegeH4692.
[9]Thou shalt take also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof according to the number of the days, that thou shalt sleep upon thy side: even three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof. [9]TakeH3947[H8798] thou also unto thee wheatH2406, and barleyH8184, and beansH6321, and lentilesH5742, and milletH1764, and fitchesH3698, and putH5414[H8804] them in oneH259 vesselH3627, and makeH6213[H8804] thee breadH3899 thereof, according to the numberH4557 of the daysH3117 that thou shalt lieH7901[H8802] upon thy sideH6654, threeH7969 hundredH3967 and ninetyH8673 daysH3117 shalt thou eatH398 thereofH8799.
[10]And the meat, whereof thou shalt eat, shall be by weight, even twenty shekels a day: and from time to time shalt thou eat thereof. [10]And thy meatH3978 which thou shalt eatH398[H8799] shall be by weightH4946, twentyH6242 shekelsH8255 a dayH3117: from timeH6256 to timeH6256 shalt thou eatH398 itH8799.
[11]Thou shalt drink also water by measure, even the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink. [11]Thou shalt drinkH8354[H8799] also waterH4325 by measureH4884, the sixth partH8345 of an hinH1969: from timeH6256 to timeH6256 shalt thou drinkH8354.[H8799]
[12]And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it in the dung that cometh out of man, in their sight. [12]And thou shalt eatH398[H8799] it as barleyH8184 cakesH5692, and thou shalt bakeH5746[H8799] it with dungH1561 that cometh outH6627 of manH120, in their sightH5869.
[13]And the Lord said, So shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will cast them. [13]And the LORDH3068 saidH559[H8799], Even thus shall the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 eatH398[H8799] their defiledH2931 breadH3899 among the GentilesH1471, whither I will driveH5080 themH8686.
[14]Then said I, Ah, Lord God, behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up, even unto this hour, I have not eaten of a thing dead, or torn in pieces, neither came there any unclean flesh in my mouth. [14]Then saidH559[H8799] I, AhH162 LordH136 GODH3069! behold, my soulH5315 hath not been pollutedH2930[H8794]: for from my youthH5271 up even till now have I not eatenH398[H8804] of that which dieth of itselfH5038, or is torn in piecesH2966; neither cameH935[H8804] there abominableH6292 fleshH1320 into my mouthH6310.
[15]Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee bullocks' dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith. [15]Then he saidH559[H8799] unto me, LoH7200[H8798], I have givenH5414[H8804] thee cow'sH1241 dungH6832[H8675][H6832] for man'sH120 dungH1561, and thou shalt prepareH6213[H8804] thy bread therewithH3899.
[16]Moreover, he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care, and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment. [16]Moreover he saidH559[H8799] unto me, SonH1121 of manH120, behold, I will breakH7665[H8799] the staffH4294 of breadH3899 in JerusalemH3389: and they shall eatH398[H8804] breadH3899 by weightH4948, and with careH1674; and they shall drinkH8354[H8799] waterH4325 by measureH4884, and with astonishmentH8078:
[17]Because that bread and water shall fail, they shall be astonied one with another, and shall consume away for their iniquity. [17]That they may wantH2637[H8799] breadH3899 and waterH4325, and be astoniedH8074[H8738] oneH376 with anotherH251, and consume awayH4743[H8738] for their iniquityH5771.
