[1]Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, |
| [2]SonH1121 of manH120, setH7760[H8798] thy faceH6440 toward the mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, and prophesyH5012 against themH8734, |
[2]Son of man, Set thy face towards the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, |
| [3]And sayH559[H8804], Ye mountainsH2022 of IsraelH3478, hearH8085[H8798] the wordH1697 of the LordH136 GODH3069; Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069 to the mountainsH2022, and to the hillsH1389, to the riversH650, and to the valleysH1516; Behold, I, even I, will bringH935[H8688] a swordH2719 upon you, and I will destroyH6[H8765] your high placesH1116. |
[3]And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: thus saith the Lord God to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys, Behold, I, even I will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places: |
| [4]And your altarsH4196 shall be desolateH8074[H8738], and your imagesH2553 shall be brokenH7665[H8738]: and I will cast downH5307[H8689] your slainH2491 men beforeH6440 your idolsH1544. |
[4]And your altars shall be desolate, and your images of the sun shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols. |
| [5]And I will layH5414[H8804] the dead carcasesH6297 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 beforeH6440 their idolsH1544; and I will scatterH2219[H8765] your bonesH6106 round aboutH5439 your altarsH4196. |
[5]And I will lay the dead carcasses of the children of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones round about your altars. |
| [6]In all your dwellingplacesH4186 the citiesH5892 shall be laid wasteH2717[H8799], and the high placesH1116 shall be desolateH3456[H8799]; that your altarsH4196 may be laid wasteH2717[H8799] and made desolateH816[H8799], and your idolsH1544 may be brokenH7665[H8738] and ceaseH7673[H8738], and your imagesH2553 may be cut downH1438[H8738], and your worksH4639 may be abolishedH4229.[H8738] |
[6]In all your dwelling places the cities shall be desolate, and the high places shall be laid waste, so that your altars shall be made waste and desolate, and your idols shall be broken, and cease, and your images of the sun shall be cut in pieces, and your works shall be abolished. |
| [7]And the slainH2491 shall fallH5307[H8804] in the midstH8432 of you, and ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[7]And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. |
| [8]Yet will I leave a remnantH3498[H8689], that ye may have some that shall escapeH6412 the swordH2719 among the nationsH1471, when ye shall be scatteredH2219[H8736] through the countriesH776. |
[8]Yet will I leave a remnant, that you may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when you shall be scattered through the countries. |
| [9]And they that escapeH6412 of you shall rememberH2142[H8804] me among the nationsH1471 whither they shall be carried captivesH7617[H8738], because I am brokenH7665[H8738] with their whorishH2181[H8802] heartH3820, which hath departedH5493[H8804] from me, and with their eyesH5869, which go a whoringH2181[H8802] afterH310 their idolsH1544: and they shall lotheH6962[H8738] themselvesH6440 for the evilsH7451 which they have committedH6213[H8804] in all their abominationsH8441. |
[9]And they that escape of you, shall remember me among the nations, where they shall be in captivity, because I am grieved for their whorish hearts, which have departed from me, and for their eyes, which have gone a whoring after their idols, and they shall be displeased in themselves for the evils, which they have committed in all their abominations. |
| [10]And they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068, and that I have not saidH1696[H8765] in vainH2600 that I would doH6213[H8800] this evil unto themH7451. |
[10]And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have not said in vain, that I would do this evil unto them. |
| [11]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069; SmiteH5221[H8685] with thine handH3709, and stampH7554[H8798] with thy footH7272, and sayH559[H8798], AlasH253 for all the evilH7451 abominationsH8441 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478! for they shall fallH5307[H8799] by the swordH2719, by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698. |
[11]Thus saith the Lord God, Smite with thine hand, and stretch forth with thy foot, and say, Alas, for all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel: for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence. |
| [12]He that is far offH7350 shall dieH4191[H8799] of the pestilenceH1698; and he that is nearH7138 shall fallH5307[H8799] by the swordH2719; and he that remainethH7604[H8737] and is besiegedH5341[H8803] shall dieH4191[H8799] by the famineH7458: thus will I accomplishH3615[H8765] my fury upon themH2534. |
[12]He that is far off, shall die of the pestilence, and he that is near, shall fall by the sword, and he that remaineth and is besieged, shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my wrath upon them. |
| [13]Then shall ye knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068, when their slainH2491 men shall be amongH8432 their idolsH1544 round aboutH5439 their altarsH4196, upon every highH7311[H8802] hillH1389, in all the topsH7218 of the mountainsH2022, and under every greenH7488 treeH6086, and under every thickH5687 oakH424, the placeH4725 where they did offerH5414[H8804] sweetH5207 savourH7381 to all their idolsH1544. |
[13]Then ye shall know, that I am the Lord, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, which is the place where they did offer sweet savor to all their idols. |
| [14]So will I stretch outH5186[H8804] my handH3027 upon them, and makeH5414[H8804] the landH776 desolateH8077, yea, more desolateH4923 than the wildernessH4057 toward DiblathH1689, in all their habitationsH4186: and they shall knowH3045[H8804] that I am the LORDH3068. |
[14]So will I stretch mine hand upon them, and make the land waste, and desolate from the wilderness unto Diblath in all their habitations, and they shall know, that I am the Lord. |
