[1]THUS the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. |
| [2]καίC συντελέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF ἕκτοςA1-DSF ὁRA-APN ἔργονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅςRR-APN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S καίC καταπαύωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF ἕβδομοςA1-DSF ἀπόP πᾶςA3-GPN ὁRA-GPN ἔργονN2N-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅςRR-GPN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S |
[2]And on the sixth day God, finished his works which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his works which he had made. |
| [3]καίC εὐλογέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF ὁRA-ASF ἕβδομοςA1-ASF καίC ἁγιάζωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASF ὅτιC ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF καταπαύωVAI-AAI3S ἀπόP πᾶςA3-GPN ὁRA-GPN ἔργονN2N-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅςRR-GPN ἄρχωVAI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ποιέωVA-AAN |
[3]So God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because in it he had rested from all his works which God created and made |
| [4]οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF βίβλοςN2-NSF γένεσιςN3I-GSF οὐρανόςN2-GSM καίC γῆN1-GSF ὅτεD γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὅςRR-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM οὐρανόςN2-ASM καίC ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF |
[4]These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the heavens and the earth. |
| [5]καίC πᾶςA3-ASN χλωρόςA1A-ASN ἀγρόςN2-GSM πρόP ὁRA-GSN γίγνομαιVB-AMN ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC πᾶςA3-ASM χόρτοςN2-ASM ἀγρόςN2-GSM πρόP ὁRA-GSN ἀνατέλλωVA-AAN οὐD γάρX βρέχωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF καίC ἄνθρωποςN2-NSM οὐD εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐργάζομαιV1-PMN ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF |
[5]And all the trees of the field were not yet in the ground, and every herb of the field had not yet sprung up; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground. |
| [6]πηγήN1-NSF δέX ἀναβαίνωV1I-IAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC ποτίζωV1I-IAI3S πᾶςA3-ASN ὁRA-ASN πρόσωπονN2N-ASN ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF |
[6]But a powerful spring gushed out of the earth, and watered all the face of the ground. |
| [7]καίC πλάσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM ἄνθρωποςN2-ASM χοῦςN3-ASM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC ἐνφυσάωVAI-AAI3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASN πρόσωπονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM πνοήN1-ASF ζωήN1-GSF καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM ἄνθρωποςN2-NSM εἰςP ψυχήN1-ASF ζάωV3-PAPASF |
[7]And the LORD God formed Adam out of the soil of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being |
| [8]καίC φυτεύωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM παράδεισοςN2-ASM ἐνP *εδεμN--DS κατάP ἀνατολήN1-APF καίC τίθημιVEI-AMI3S ἐκεῖD ὁRA-ASM ἄνθρωποςN2-ASM ὅςRR-ASM πλάσσωVAI-AAI3S |
[8]And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. |
| [9]καίC ἐκ ἀνατέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἔτιD ἐκP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF πᾶςA3-ASN ξύλονN2N-ASN ὡραῖοςA1A-ASN εἰςP ὅρασιςN3I-ASF καίC καλόςA1-ASM εἰςP βρῶσιςN3I-ASF καίC ὁRA-NSN ξύλονN2N-NSN ὁRA-GSF ζωήN1-GSF ἐνP μέσοςA1-DSM ὁRA-DSM παράδεισοςN2-DSM καίC ὁRA-ASN ξύλονN2N-ASN ὁRA-GSN οἶδαVX-XAN γνωστόςA1-ASN καλόςA1-GSM καίC πονηρόςA1A-GSM |
[9]And out of the ground the LORD God made to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. |
| [10]ποταμόςN2-NSM δέX ἐκπορεύομαιV1-PMI3S ἐκP *εδεμN--GS ποτίζωV1-PAN ὁRA-ASM παράδεισοςN2-ASM ἐκεῖθενD ἀποὁρίζωV1-PMI3S εἰςP τέσσαρεςA3-APF ἀρχήN1-APF |
[10]And a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it divided and became into four heads. |
| [11]ὄνομαN3M-NSN ὁRA-DSM εἷςA3-DSM *φισωνN--NS οὗτοςRD-NSM ὁRA-NSM κυκλόωV4-PAPNSM πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF *ευιλατN--GS ἐκεῖD ὅςRR-GSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-NSN χρυσίονN2N-NSN |
[11]The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which encircles the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; |
| [12]ὁRA-ASN δέX χρυσίονN2N-ASN ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ἐκεῖνοςRD-GSF καλόςA1-ASM καίC ἐκεῖD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἄνθραξN3K-NSM καίC ὁRA-NSM λίθοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM πράσινοςN2-NSM |
[12]And the gold of that land is good; there is also beryllium and the onyx stone. |
| [13]καίC ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-DSM ποταμόςN2-DSM ὁRA-DSM δεύτεροςA1A-DSM *γηωνN--NS οὗτοςRD-NSM ὁRA-NSM κυκλόωV4-PAPNSM πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF *αἰθιοπίαN1A-GSF |
[13]And the name of the second river is Gihon, the one which encircles the whole land of Ethiopia. |
| [14]καίC ὁRA-NSM ποταμόςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM τρίτοςA1-NSM *τίγριςN--NS οὗτοςRD-NSM ὁRA-NSM πορεύομαιV1-PMPNSM κατέναντιP *ἀσσύριοςN2-GPM ὁRA-NSM δέX ποταμόςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM τέταρτοςA1-NSM οὗτοςRD-NSM *εὐφράτηςN1M-NSM |
[14]And the name of the third river is Deklat (Tigris); it is the one which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. |
| [15]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM ἄνθρωποςN2-ASM ὅςRR-ASM πλάσσωVAI-AAI3S καίC τίθημιVEI-AMI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM παράδεισοςN2-DSM ἐργάζομαιV1-PMN αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC φυλάσσωV1-PAN |
[15]And the LORD God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to till it and to keep it |
| [16]καίC ἐντέλλομαιVAI-AMI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-DSM *αδαμN--DSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἀπόP πᾶςA3-GSN ξύλονN2N-GSN ὁRA-GSN ἐνP ὁRA-DSM παράδεισοςN2-DSM βρῶσιςN3I-DSF ἐσθίωVF-FMI2S |
[16]And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; |
| [17]ἀπόP δέX ὁRA-GSN ξύλονN2N-GSN ὁRA-GSN γιγνώσκωV1-PAN καλόςA1-ASN καίC πονηρόςA1A-ASN οὐD ἐσθίωVF-FMI2P ἀπόP αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅςRR-DSF δέX ἄνX ἡμέραN1A-DSF ἐσθίωVB-AAS2P ἀπόP αὐτόςRD-GSM θάνατοςN2-DSM ἀποθνήσκωVF2-FMI2P |
[17]But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat; for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die |
| [18]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM οὐD καλόςA1-ASN εἰμίV9-PAN ὁRA-ASM ἄνθρωποςN2-ASM μόνονD ποιέωVA-AAS1P αὐτόςRD-DSM βοηθόςN2-ASM κατάP αὐτόςRD-ASM |
[18]Then the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper who is like him. |
| [19]καίC πλάσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἔτιD ἐκP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN θηρίονN2N-APN ὁRA-GSM ἀγρόςN2-GSM καίC πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN πετεινόνN2N-APN ὁRA-GSM οὐρανόςN2-GSM καίC ἄγωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APN πρόςP ὁRA-ASM *αδαμN--ASM ὁράωVB-AAN τίςRI-ASN καλέωVF-FAI3S αὐτόςRD-APN καίC πᾶςA3-NSN ὅςRR-ASN ἐάνC καλέωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASN *αδαμN--NSM ψυχήN1-ASF ζάωV3-PAPASF οὗτοςRD-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[19]And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them; and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was its name. |
| [20]καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S *αδαμN--NSM ὄνομαN3M-APN πᾶςA3-DPN ὁRA-DPN κτῆνοςN3E-DPN καίC πᾶςA3-DPN ὁRA-DPN πετεινόνN2N-DPN ὁRA-GSM οὐρανόςN2-GSM καίC πᾶςA3-DPN ὁRA-DPN θηρίονN2N-DPN ὁRA-GSM ἀγρόςN2-GSM ὁRA-DSM δέX *αδαμN--DSM οὐD εὑρίσκωVC-API3S βοηθόςN2-NSM ὅμοιοςA1A-NSM αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[20]And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to all fowl of the air, and to all wild beasts; but for Adam there was not found a helper who was equal to him |
| [21]καίC ἐπιβάλλωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ἔκστασιςN3I-ASF ἐπίP ὁRA-ASM *αδαμN--NSM καίC ὑπνόωVAI-AAI3S καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S εἷςA1A-ASF ὁRA-GPF πλευράN1A-GPF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἀναπληρόωVAI-AAI3S σάρξN3K-ASF ἀντίP αὐτόςRD-GSF |
[21]So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh in its stead; |
| [22]καίC οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASF πλευράN1A-ASF ὅςRR-ASF λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM *αδαμN--GSM εἰςP γυνήN3K-ASF καίC ἄγωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASF πρόςP ὁRA-ASM *αδαμN--ASM |
[22]And of the rib which the LORD God had taken from Adam he made a woman, and brought her to Adam. |
| [23]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *αδαμN--NSM οὗτοςRD-NSN νῦνD ὀστέονN2N-NSN ἐκP ὁRA-GPN ὀστέονN2N-GPN ἐγώRP-GS καίC σάρξN3K-NSF ἐκP ὁRA-GSF σάρξN3K-GSF ἐγώRP-GS οὗτοςRD-NSF καλέωVC-FPI3S γυνήN3K-NSF ὅτιC ἐκP ὁRA-GSM ἀνήρN3-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSF λαμβάνωVVI-API3S οὗτοςRD-NSF |
[23]And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. |
| [24]ἕνεκενP οὗτοςRD-GSN καταλείπωVF-FAI3S ἄνθρωποςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM πατήρN3-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-ASF μήτηρN3-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC προςκολλάωVC-FPI3S πρόςP ὁRA-ASF γυνήN3K-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3P ὁRA-NPM δύοM εἰςP σάρξN3K-ASF εἷςA1A-ASF |
[24]Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. |
| [25]καίC εἰμίV9-IAI3P ὁRA-NPM δύοM γυμνόςA1-NPM ὅςRR-NSN τεX *αδαμN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NSF γυνήN3K-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC οὐD αἰσχύνωV1I-IMI3P |
[25]And they were both naked, Adam and his wife, and were not ashamed |
