[1]RejoiceH8055[H8799] not, O IsraelH3478, for joyH1524, as other peopleH5971: for thou hast gone a whoringH2181[H8804] from thy GodH430, thou hast lovedH157[H8804] a rewardH868 upon every cornfloorH1637.[H1715] [1]Rejoice not, O Israel for joy as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God: thou hast loved a reward upon every corn floor.
[2]The floorH1637 and the winepressH3342 shall not feedH7462[H8799] them, and the new wineH8492 shall failH3584 in herH8762. [2]The floor, and the wine press shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.
[3]They shall not dwellH3427[H8799] in the LORD'SH3068 landH776; but EphraimH669 shall returnH7725[H8804] to EgyptH4714, and they shall eatH398[H8799] uncleanH2931 things in AssyriaH804. [3]They will not dwell in the Lord's land, but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean things in Assyria.
[4]They shall not offerH5258[H8799] wineH3196 offerings to the LORDH3068, neither shall they be pleasingH6149[H8799] unto him: their sacrificesH2077 shall be unto them as the breadH3899 of mournersH205; all that eatH398[H8802] thereof shall be pollutedH2930[H8691]: for their breadH3899 for their soulH5315 shall not comeH935[H8799] into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. [4]They shall not offer wine to the Lord, neither shall their sacrifices be pleasant unto him: but they shall be unto them as the bread of mourners: all that eat thereof, shall be polluted: for their bread for their souls shall not come into the house of the Lord.
[5]What will ye doH6213[H8799] in the solemnH4150 dayH3117, and in the dayH3117 of the feastH2282 of the LORDH3068? [5]What will ye do then in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the Lord?
[6]For, lo, they are goneH1980[H8804] because of destructionH7701: EgyptH4714 shall gather them upH6908[H8762], MemphisH4644 shall buryH6912[H8762] them: the pleasantH4261 places for their silverH3701, nettlesH7057 shall possessH3423[H8799] them: thornsH2336 shall be in their tabernaclesH168. [6]For lo, they are gone from destruction: but Egypt shall gather them up, and Memphis shall bury them: the nettle shall possess the pleasant places of their silver, and the thorn shall be in their tabernacles.
[7]The daysH3117 of visitationH6486 are comeH935[H8804], the daysH3117 of recompenceH7966 are comeH935[H8804]; IsraelH3478 shall knowH3045[H8799] it: the prophetH5030 is a foolH191, the spiritualH7307 manH376 is madH7696[H8794], for the multitudeH7230 of thine iniquityH5771, and the greatH7227 hatredH4895. [7]The days of visitation are come: the days of recompense are come: Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool: the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity: therefore the hatred is great.
[8]The watchmanH6822[H8802] of EphraimH669 was with my GodH430: but the prophetH5030 is a snareH6341 of a fowlerH3352 in all his waysH1870, and hatredH4895 in the houseH1004 of his GodH430. [8]The watchman of Ephraim should be with my God: but the prophet is the snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
[9]They have deeplyH6009[H8689] corruptedH7843[H8765] themselves, as in the daysH3117 of GibeahH1390: therefore he will rememberH2142[H8799] their iniquityH5771, he will visitH6485[H8799] their sinsH2403. [9]They are deeply set: they are corrupt as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
[10]I foundH4672[H8804] IsraelH3478 like grapesH6025 in the wildernessH4057; I sawH7200[H8804] your fathersH1 as the firstripeH1063 in the fig treeH8384 at her first timeH7225: but they wentH935[H8804] to BaalpeorH1187, and separatedH5144[H8735] themselves unto that shameH1322; and their abominationsH8251 were according as they lovedH157.[H8800] [10]I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness: I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baal-Peor, and separated themselves unto that shame, and their abominations were according to their lovers.
[11]As for EphraimH669, their gloryH3519 shall fly awayH5774[H8709] like a birdH5775, from the birthH3205[H8800], and from the wombH990, and from the conceptionH2032. [11]Ephraim their glory shall flee away like a bird: from the birth and from the womb, and from the conception.
[12]Though they bring upH1431[H8762] their childrenH1121, yet will I bereaveH7921[H8765] them, that there shall not be a manH120 left: yea, woeH188 also to them when I departH5493 from themH8800! [12]Though they bring up their children, yet I will deprive them from being men: yea, woe to them, when I depart from them.
[13]EphraimH669, as I sawH7200[H8804] TyrusH6865, is plantedH8362[H8803] in a pleasant placeH5116: but EphraimH669 shall bring forthH3318[H8687] his childrenH1121 to the murdererH2026.[H8802] [13]Ephraim, as I saw, is as a tree in Tyrus planted in a cottage: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.
[14]GiveH5414[H8798] them, O LORDH3068: what wilt thou giveH5414[H8799]? giveH5414[H8798] them a miscarryingH7921[H8688] wombH7358 and dryH6784[H8802] breastsH7699. [14]O Lord, give them: what wilt thou give them? Give them a barren womb and dry breasts.
[15]All their wickednessH7451 is in GilgalH1537: for there I hatedH8130[H8804] them: for the wickednessH7455 of their doingsH4611 I will drive them outH1644[H8762] of mine houseH1004, I will loveH160 them no moreH3254[H8686]: all their princesH8269 are revoltersH5637.[H8802] [15]All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there do I hate them: for the wickedness of their inventions, I will cast them out of mine house: I will love them no more: all their princes are rebels.
[16]EphraimH669 is smittenH5221[H8717], their rootH8328 is dried upH3001[H8804], they shall bearH6213[H8799] no fruitH6529: yea, though they bring forthH3205[H8799], yet will I slayH4191[H8689] even the belovedH4261 fruit of their wombH990. [16]Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up: they can bring no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the dearest of their body.
[17]My GodH430 will cast them awayH3988[H8799], because they did not hearkenH8085[H8804] unto him: and they shall be wanderersH5074[H8802] among the nationsH1471. [17]My God will cast them away, because they did not obey him: and they shall wander among the nations.
