| [1]And there shall come forthH3318[H8804] a rodH2415 out of the stemH1503 of JesseH3448, and a BranchH5342 shall growH6509[H8799] out of his rootsH8328: |
[1]And there shall come a sprig foorth of the stemne of Esai, and a young shoote shall growe out of his roote |
| [2]And the spiritH7307 of the LORDH3068 shall restH5117[H8804] upon him, the spiritH7307 of wisdomH2451 and understandingH998, the spiritH7307 of counselH6098 and mightH1369, the spiritH7307 of knowledgeH1847 and of the fearH3374 of the LORDH3068; |
[2]The spirite of the Lorde shall rest vpon him, the spirite of wysdome and vnderstanding, the spirite of counsaile and strength, the spirite of knowledge and of the feare of the Lorde |
| [3]And shall make him of quick understandingH7306[H8687] in the fearH3374 of the LORDH3068: and he shall not judgeH8199[H8799] after the sightH4758 of his eyesH5869, neither reproveH3198[H8686] after the hearingH4926 of his earsH241: |
[3]And shall make hym of deepe iudgement in the feare of God: For he shall not geue sentence after the thing that shalbe brought before his eyes, neither reproue after the hearing of his eares |
| [4]But with righteousnessH6664 shall he judgeH8199[H8804] the poorH1800, and reproveH3198[H8689] with equityH4334 for the meekH6035 of the earthH776: and he shall smiteH5221[H8689] the earthH776 with the rodH7626 of his mouthH6310, and with the breathH7307 of his lipsH8193 shall he slayH4191[H8686] the wickedH7563. |
[4]But with righteousnesse shal he iudge the poore, and with equitie shall he refourme the simple of the worlde, and he shall smyte the worlde with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his mouth shall he slay the vngodly |
| [5]And righteousnessH6664 shall be the girdleH232 of his loinsH4975, and faithfulnessH530 the girdleH232 of his reinsH2504. |
[5]Righteousnesse shalbe the gyrdle of his loynes, and faythfulnesse the gyrding vp of his raynes |
| [6]The wolfH2061 also shall dwellH1481[H8804] with the lambH3532, and the leopardH5246 shall lie downH7257[H8799] with the kidH1423; and the calfH5695 and the young lionH3715 and the fatlingH4806 togetherH3162; and a littleH6996 childH5288 shall leadH5090 themH8802. |
[6]The Woolfe shall dwell with the Lambe, and the Leoparde shall lye downe by the Goate: Bullockes, Lions, and cattell, shall kepe company together, so that a litle chylde shall leade them |
| [7]And the cowH6510 and the bearH1677 shall feedH7462[H8799]; their young onesH3206 shall lie downH7257[H8799] togetherH3162: and the lionH738 shall eatH398[H8799] strawH8401 like the oxH1241. |
[7]The Cowe and the Beare shall feede together, and their young ones shall lye together: the Lion shall eate strawe, lyke the Oxe or the Cowe |
| [8]And the sucking childH3243[H8802] shall playH8173[H8773] on the holeH2352 of the aspH6620, and the weaned childH1580[H8803] shall putH1911[H8804] his handH3027 on the cockatrice'H6848 denH3975. |
[8]The chylde whyle he sucketh shall haue a desire to the serpentes nest, and when he is weaned, he shall put his hande into the Cockatrice denne |
| [9]They shall not hurtH7489[H8686] nor destroyH7843[H8686] in all my holyH6944 mountainH2022: for the earthH776 shall be fullH4390[H8804] of the knowledgeH1844 of the LORDH3068, as the watersH4325 coverH3680[H8764] the seaH3220. |
[9]No man shall do euill vnto another, no man shall destroy another in all the hyll of my holynes: for the earth shalbe full of the knowledge of the Lorde: euen as the sea floweth ouer with water |
| [10]And in that dayH3117 there shall be a rootH8328 of JesseH3448, which shall standH5975[H8802] for an ensignH5251 of the peopleH5971; to it shall the GentilesH1471 seekH1875[H8799]: and his restH4496 shall be gloriousH3519. |
[10]And in that day shall the gentiles enquire after the roote of Iesse, whiche shalbe set vp for a token vnto the people, and his rest shalbe glorious |
| [11]And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that the LordH136 shall setH3254 his handH3027 againH3254[H8686] the second timeH8145 to recoverH7069[H8800] the remnantH7605 of his peopleH5971, which shall be leftH7604[H8735], from AssyriaH804, and from EgyptH4714, and from PathrosH6624, and from CushH3568, and from ElamH5867, and from ShinarH8152, and from HamathH2574, and from the islandsH339 of the seaH3220. |
[11]At the same time shall the Lord take in hande agayne to recouer the remnaunt of his people, whiche shalbe left aliue from the Assirians, Egyptians, Arabians, Morians, Elamites, Chaldees, Antiochians, & from the Ilandes of the sea |
| [12]And he shall set upH5375[H8804] an ensignH5251 for the nationsH1471, and shall assembleH622[H8804] the outcastsH1760[H8737] of IsraelH3478, and gather togetherH6908[H8762] the dispersedH5310[H8803] of JudahH3063 from the fourH702 cornersH3671 of the earthH776. |
[12]And he shall set vp a token among the gentiles, and gather together the dispearsed of Israel, yea and the outcastes of Iuda from the foure corners of the worlde |
| [13]The envyH7068 also of EphraimH669 shall departH5493[H8804], and the adversariesH6887[H8802] of JudahH3063 shall be cut offH3772[H8735]: EphraimH669 shall not envyH7065[H8762] JudahH3063, and JudahH3063 shall not vexH6887[H8799] EphraimH669. |
[13]The hatred of Ephraim also and enemies of Iuda shalbe cleane rooted out: Ephraim shall beare none euyll wyll to Iuda, & Iuda shall not vexe Ephraim |
| [14]But they shall flyH5774[H8804] upon the shouldersH3802 of the PhilistinesH6430 toward the westH3220; they shall spoilH962[H8799] themH1121 of the eastH6924 togetherH3162: they shall layH4916 their handH3027 upon EdomH123 and MoabH4124; and the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 shall obey themH4928. |
[14]But they both together shall flee vppon the shoulders of the Philistines towarde the west, and spoyle them together that dwell towarde the east: The Idumites and the Moabites shal come vnder their handes, and the Amonites shalbe obedient vnto them |
| [15]And the LORDH3068 shall utterly destroyH2763[H8689] the tongueH3956 of the EgyptianH4714 seaH3220; and with his mightyH5868 windH7307 shall he shakeH5130[H8689] his handH3027 over the riverH5104, and shall smiteH5221[H8689] it in the sevenH7651 streamsH5158, and make men go overH1869[H8689] dryshodH5275. |
[15]The Lord also shal cleaue the tongues of the Egyptians sea, and with his mightie winde shall he lyft vp his hand ouer Nilus, and shall smyte his seuen streames, and make men go ouer drye shod |
| [16]And there shall be an highwayH4546 for the remnantH7605 of his peopleH5971, whichH834 shall be leftH7604[H8735], from AssyriaH804; like as it was to IsraelH3478 in the dayH3117 that he came upH5927[H8800] out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714. |
[16]And thus shall there be a way for his people that remayneth from the Assirians, lyke as it happened to the Israelites what tyme they departed out of the lande of Egypt |
