| [2]The Lord seith these thingis, The Lord is name of hym, that schal do, and fourme, and make redi that thing; |
[2]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 the makerH6213[H8802] thereof, the LORDH3068 that formedH3335[H8802] it, to establishH3559[H8687] it; the LORDH3068 is his nameH8034; |
| [3]Crye thou to me, and Y schal here thee, and Y schal telle to thee grete thingis, and stidfast, whiche thou knowist not. |
[3]CallH7121[H8798] unto me, and I will answerH6030[H8799] thee, and shewH5046[H8686] thee greatH1419 and mighty thingsH1219[H8803], which thou knowestH3045 notH8804. |
| [4]For the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis to the housis of this citee, and to the housis of the kyng of Juda, that ben distried, and to the strengthingis, |
[4]For thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, concerning the housesH1004 of this cityH5892, and concerning the housesH1004 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, which are thrown downH5422[H8803] by the mountsH5550, and by the swordH2719; |
| [5]and to the swerd of men comynge to fiyte with Caldeis, and to fille tho housis with careyns of men, which Y smoot in my strong veniaunce, and in myn indignacioun; and Y hidde my face fro this citee, for al the malice of hem. |
[5]They comeH935[H8802] to fightH3898[H8736] with the ChaldeansH3778, but it is to fillH4390[H8763] them with the dead bodiesH6297 of menH120, whom I have slainH5221[H8689] in mine angerH639 and in my furyH2534, and for all whose wickednessH7451 I have hidH5641[H8689] my faceH6440 from this cityH5892. |
| [6]Lo! Y schal close togidere to hem a wounde and helthe, and Y schal make hem hool, and Y schal schewe to hem the bisechyng of pees and of treuthe; |
[6]Behold, I will bringH5927[H8688] it healthH724 and cureH4832, and I will cureH7495[H8804] them, and will revealH1540[H8765] unto them the abundanceH6283 of peaceH7965 and truthH571. |
| [7]and Y schal conuerte the conuersioun of Juda, and Y schal conuerte the conuersioun of Jerusalem, and Y schal bilde hem, as at the bigynnyng. |
[7]And I will cause the captivityH7622 of JudahH3063 and the captivityH7622 of IsraelH3478 to returnH7725[H8689], and will buildH1129[H8804] them, as at the firstH7223. |
| [8]And Y schal clense hem fro al her wickidnesse, in which thei synneden to me, and Y schal be merciful to alle the wickidnessis of hem, in which thei trespassiden to me, and forsoken me. |
[8]And I will cleanseH2891[H8765] them from all their iniquityH5771, whereby they have sinnedH2398[H8804] against me; and I will pardonH5545[H8804] all their iniquitiesH5771, whereby they have sinnedH2398[H8804], and whereby they have transgressedH6586 against meH8804. |
| [9]And thei schulen be to me in to a name, and in to ioye, and in to heriyng, and in to ful out ioiyng to alle folkis of erthe, that herden alle the goodis whiche Y schal do to hem; and thei schulen drede, and schulen be disturblid in alle goodis, and in al the pees, which Y schal do to hem. |
[9]And it shall be to me a nameH8034 of joyH8342, a praiseH8416 and an honourH8597 before all the nationsH1471 of the earthH776, which shall hearH8085[H8799] all the goodH2896 that I doH6213[H8802] unto them: and they shall fearH6342[H8804] and trembleH7264[H8804] for all the goodnessH2896 and for all the prosperityH7965 that I procureH6213 unto itH8802. |
| [10]The Lord seith these thingis, Yit in this place, which ye seien to be forsakun, for no man is nether beeste in the citees of Juda, and in the yatis of Jerusalem, that ben desolat, without man, and with out dwellere, |
[10]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; Again there shall be heardH8085[H8735] in this placeH4725, which ye sayH559[H8802] shall be desolateH2720 without manH120 and without beastH929, even in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389, that are desolateH8074[H8737], without manH120, and without inhabitantH3427[H8802], and without beastH929, |
| [11]and with out beeste, the vois of ioye schal be herd, and the vois of gladnesse, the vois of spouse, and the vois of spousesse, the vois of men, seiynge, Knowleche ye to the Lord of oostis, for the Lord is good, for his merci is with outen ende, and of men berynge vowis in to the hous of the Lord; for Y schal brynge ayen the conuersioun of the lond, as at the bigynnyng, seith the Lord. |
[11]The voiceH6963 of joyH8342, and the voiceH6963 of gladnessH8057, the voiceH6963 of the bridegroomH2860, and the voiceH6963 of the brideH3618, the voiceH6963 of them that shall sayH559[H8802], PraiseH3034[H8685] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635: for the LORDH3068 is goodH2896; for his mercyH2617 endureth for everH5769: and of them that shall bringH935[H8688] the sacrifice of praiseH8426 into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. For I will cause to returnH7725[H8686] the captivityH7622 of the landH776, as at the firstH7223, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068. |
| [12]The Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Yit in this forsakun place, with out man, and with out beeste, and in alle citees therof, schal be a dwellyng place of scheepherdis, of flockis ligynge. |
[12]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635; Again in this placeH4725, which is desolateH2720 without manH120 and without beastH929, and in all the citiesH5892 thereof, shall be an habitationH5116 of shepherdsH7462[H8802] causing their flocksH6629 to lie downH7257.[H8688] |
| [13]And in the citees in hilli places, and in the citees in feeldi places, and in the citees that ben at the south, and in the lond of Beniamyn, and in the cumpas of Jerusalem, and in the citees of Juda, yit flockis schulen passe, at the hond of the noumbrere, seith the Lord. |
[13]In the citiesH5892 of the mountainsH2022, in the citiesH5892 of the valeH8219, and in the citiesH5892 of the southH5045, and in the landH776 of BenjaminH1144, and in the places aboutH5439 JerusalemH3389, and in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, shall the flocksH6629 pass againH5674[H8799] under the handsH3027 of him that tellethH4487[H8802] them, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068. |
| [14]Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal reise the good word, which Y spak to the hous of Israel, and to the hous of Juda. |
[14]Behold, the daysH3117 comeH935[H8802], saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that I will performH6965[H8689] that goodH2896 thingH1697 which I have promisedH1696[H8765] unto the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 and to the houseH1004 of JudahH3063. |
| [15]In tho daies, and in that tyme, Y schal make the seed of riytfulnesse to buriowne to Dauid, and he schal make doom and riytfulnesse in erthe. |
[15]In those daysH3117, and at that timeH6256, will I cause the BranchH6780 of righteousnessH6666 to grow upH6779[H8686] unto DavidH1732; and he shall executeH6213[H8804] judgmentH4941 and righteousnessH6666 in the landH776. |
| [16]In tho daies Juda schal be sauyd, and Israel schal dwelle tristili; and this is the name which thei schulen clepe hym, Oure riytful Lord. |
[16]In those daysH3117 shall JudahH3063 be savedH3467[H8735], and JerusalemH3389 shall dwellH7931[H8799] safelyH983: and this is the name wherewith she shall be calledH7121[H8799], The LORD our righteousnessH3072. |
| [17]For the Lord seith these thingis, A man of Dauid schal not perische, that shal sitte on the trone of the hous of Israel; |
[17]For thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; DavidH1732 shall neverH3808 wantH3772[H8735] a manH376 to sitH3427[H8802] upon the throneH3678 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478; |
| [18]and of preestis and dekenes a man schal not perische fro my face, that schal offre brent sacrifices, and brenne sacrifice, and sle sacrifice, in alle daies. |
[18]Neither shall the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 wantH3772[H8735] a manH376 beforeH6440 me to offerH5927[H8688] burnt offeringsH5930, and to kindleH6999[H8688] meat offeringsH4503, and to doH6213[H8802] sacrificeH2077 continuallyH3117. |
| [19]And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, |
[19]And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto JeremiahH3414, sayingH559,[H8800] |
| [20]and seide, The Lord seith these thingis, If my couenaunt with the dai and my couenaunt with the niyt mai be maad voide, that the dai and the niyt be not in his tyme; |
[20]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; If ye can breakH6565[H8686] my covenantH1285 of the dayH3117, and my covenantH1285 of the nightH3915, and that there should not be dayH3119 and nightH3915 in their seasonH6256; |
| [21]and my couenaunt with Dauid, my seruaunt, mai be voide, that of hym be no sone, that schal regne in his trone, and no dekenes, and preestis, my mynistris; |
[21]Then may also my covenantH1285 be brokenH6565[H8714] with DavidH1732 my servantH5650, that he should not have a sonH1121 to reignH4427[H8802] upon his throneH3678; and with the LevitesH3881 the priestsH3548, my ministersH8334.[H8764] |
| [22]as the sterris of heuene moun not be noumbrid, and the grauel of the see mai not be metun, so Y schal multiplie the seed of Dauid, my seruaunt, and dekenes, my mynystris. |
[22]As the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 cannot be numberedH5608[H8735], neither the sandH2344 of the seaH3220 measuredH4058[H8735]: so will I multiplyH7235[H8686] the seedH2233 of DavidH1732 my servantH5650, and the LevitesH3881 that ministerH8334 unto meH8764. |
| [23]And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, and seide, Whether thou hast not seyn, |
[23]Moreover the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came to JeremiahH3414, sayingH559,[H8800] |
| [24]that this puple spak, seiynge, Twei kynredis whiche the Lord chees, ben cast awei, and thei dispisiden my puple, for it is no more a folc bifore hem. |
[24]ConsiderestH7200[H8804] thou not what this peopleH5971 have spokenH1696[H8765], sayingH559[H8800], The twoH8147 familiesH4940 which the LORDH3068 hath chosenH977[H8804], he hath even cast them offH3988[H8799]? thus they have despisedH5006[H8799] my peopleH5971, that they should be no more a nationH1471 before themH6440. |
| [25]The Lord seith these thingis, If Y settide not my couenaunt bitwixe dai and niyt, and if Y settide not lawis to heuene and erthe; |
[25]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; If my covenantH1285 be not with dayH3119 and nightH3915, and if I have not appointedH7760[H8804] the ordinancesH2708 of heavenH8064 and earthH776; |
| [26]sotheli and Y schal caste awei the seed of Jacob, and of Dauid, my seruaunt, that Y take not of the seed of hym princes, of the seed of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob; for Y schal brynge ayen the conuersioun of hem, and Y schal haue merci on hem. |
[26]ThenH1571 will I cast awayH3988[H8799] the seedH2233 of JacobH3290, and DavidH1732 my servantH5650, so that I will not takeH3947[H8800] any of his seedH2233 to be rulersH4910[H8802] over the seedH2233 of AbrahamH85, IsaacH3446, and JacobH3290: for I will cause their captivityH7622 to returnH7725[H8686][H8675][H7725][H8799], and have mercyH7355 on themH8765. |
