[2]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Ye have seenH7200[H8804] all the evilH7451 that I have broughtH935[H8689] upon JerusalemH3389, and upon all the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063; and, behold, this dayH3117 they are a desolationH2723, and no man dwellethH3427 thereinH8802,
[3]BecauseH6440 of their wickednessH7451 which they have committedH6213[H8804] to provoke me to angerH3707[H8687], in that they wentH3212[H8800] to burn incenseH6999[H8763], and to serveH5647[H8800] otherH312 godsH430, whom they knewH3045[H8804] not, neither they, ye, nor your fathersH1.

[10]They are not humbledH1792[H8795] even unto this dayH3117, neither have they fearedH3372[H8804], nor walkedH1980[H8804] in my lawH8451, nor in my statutesH2708, that I setH5414[H8804] beforeH6440 you and beforeH6440 your fathersH1.
[11]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Behold, I will setH7760[H8802] my faceH6440 against you for evilH7451, and to cut offH3772[H8687] all JudahH3063.
[12]And I will takeH3947[H8804] the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063, that have setH7760[H8804] their facesH6440 to goH935[H8800] into the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to sojournH1481[H8800] there, and they shall all be consumedH8552[H8804], and fallH5307[H8799] in the landH776 of EgyptH4714; they shall even be consumedH8552[H8735] by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458: they shall dieH4191[H8799], from the leastH6996 even unto the greatestH1419, by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458: and they shall be an execrationH423, and an astonishmentH8047, and a curseH7045, and a reproachH2781.
[13]For I will punishH6485[H8804] them that dwellH3427[H8802] in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, as I have punishedH6485[H8804] JerusalemH3389, by the swordH2719, by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698:
[14]So that none of the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063, which are goneH935[H8802] into the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to sojournH1481[H8800] there, shall escapeH6412 or remainH8300, that they should returnH7725[H8800] into the landH776 of JudahH3063, to the which they haveH5375[H8764] a desireH5315 to returnH7725[H8800] to dwellH3427[H8800] there: for none shall returnH7725[H8799] but such as shall escapeH6405.
[15]Then all the menH582 which knewH3045[H8802] that their wivesH802 had burned incenseH6999[H8764] unto otherH312 godsH430, and all the womenH802 that stood byH5975[H8802], a greatH1419 multitudeH6951, even all the peopleH5971 that dweltH3427[H8802] in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, in PathrosH6624, answeredH6030[H8799] JeremiahH3414, sayingH559,[H8800]
[16]As for the wordH1697 that thou hast spokenH1696[H8765] unto us in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, we will not hearkenH8085 unto theeH8802.
[17]But we will certainlyH6213[H8800] doH6213[H8799] whatsoever thingH1697 goeth forthH3318[H8804] out of our own mouthH6310, to burn incenseH6999[H8763] unto the queenH4446 of heavenH8064, and to pour outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto her, as we have doneH6213[H8804], we, and our fathersH1, our kingsH4428, and our princesH8269, in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389: for then had we plentyH7646[H8799] of victualsH3899, and were wellH2896, and sawH7200[H8804] no evilH7451.
[18]But since we left offH2308[H8804] to burn incenseH6999[H8763] to the queenH4446 of heavenH8064, and to pour outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto her, we have wantedH2637[H8804] all things, and have been consumedH8552[H8804] by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458.
[19]And when we burned incenseH6999[H8764] to the queenH4446 of heavenH8064, and poured outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto her, did we makeH6213[H8804] her cakesH3561 to worshipH6087[H8687] her, and pour outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto her, withoutH1107 our menH582?
[20]Then JeremiahH3414 saidH559[H8799] unto all the peopleH5971, to the menH1397, and to the womenH802, and to all the peopleH5971 which had given him that answerH1697[H6030][H8802], sayingH559,[H8800]
[21]The incenseH7002 that ye burnedH6999[H8765] in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389, ye, and your fathersH1, your kingsH4428, and your princesH8269, and the peopleH5971 of the landH776, did not the LORDH3068 rememberH2142[H8804] them, and cameH5927[H8799] it not into his mindH3820?
[22]So that the LORDH3068 couldH3201[H8799] no longer bearH5375[H8800], becauseH6440 of the evilH7455 of your doingsH4611, and becauseH6440 of the abominationsH8441 which ye have committedH6213[H8804]; therefore is your landH776 a desolationH2723, and an astonishmentH8047, and a curseH7045, without an inhabitantH3427[H8802], as at this dayH3117.
[23]BecauseH6440[H834] ye have burned incenseH6999[H8765], and because ye have sinnedH2398[H8804] against the LORDH3068, and have not obeyedH8085[H8804] the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068, nor walkedH1980[H8804] in his lawH8451, nor in his statutesH2708, nor in his testimoniesH5715; therefore this evilH7451 is happenedH7122[H8804] unto you, as at this dayH3117.
[24]Moreover JeremiahH3414 saidH559[H8799] unto all the peopleH5971, and to all the womenH802, HearH8085[H8798] the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, all JudahH3063 that are in the landH776 of EgyptH4714:
[25]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559[H8800]; Ye and your wivesH802 have both spokenH1696[H8762] with your mouthsH6310, and fulfilledH4390[H8765] with your handH3027, sayingH559[H8800], We will surelyH6213[H8800] performH6213[H8799] our vowsH5088 that we have vowedH5087[H8804], to burn incenseH6999[H8763] to the queenH4446 of heavenH8064, and to pour outH5258[H8687] drink offeringsH5262 unto her: ye will surelyH6965[H8687] accomplishH6965[H8686] your vowsH5088, and surelyH6213[H8800] performH6213[H8799] your vowsH5088.
[26]Therefore hearH8085[H8798] ye the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, all JudahH3063 that dwellH3427[H8802] in the landH776 of EgyptH4714; Behold, I have swornH7650[H8738] by my greatH1419 nameH8034, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, that my nameH8034 shall no more be namedH7121[H8737] in the mouthH6310 of any manH376 of JudahH3063 in all the landH776 of EgyptH4714, sayingH559[H8802], The LordH136 GODH3069 livethH2416.
[27]Behold, I will watchH8245[H8802] over them for evilH7451, and not for goodH2896: and all the menH376 of JudahH3063 that are in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall be consumedH8552[H8804] by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458, until there be an endH3615 of themH8800.
[28]Yet a smallH4962 numberH4557 that escapeH6412 the swordH2719 shall return outH7725[H8799] of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 into the landH776 of JudahH3063, and all the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063, that are goneH935[H8802] into the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to sojournH1481[H8800] there, shall knowH3045[H8804] whose wordsH1697 shall standH6965, mine, or theirsH8799.
[29]And this shall be a signH226 unto you, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that I will punishH6485[H8802] you in this placeH4725, that ye may knowH3045[H8799] that my wordsH1697 shall surelyH6965[H8800] standH6965[H8799] against you for evilH7451:
[30]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068; Behold, I will giveH5414[H8802] PharaohhophraH6548 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 into the handH3027 of his enemiesH341[H8802], and into the handH3027 of them that seekH1245[H8764] his lifeH5315; as I gaveH5414[H8804] ZedekiahH6667 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 into the handH3027 of NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894, his enemyH341[H8802], and that soughtH1245[H8764] his lifeH5315.
