| [4]and a space of twey thousynde cubitis be bitwixe you and the arke, that ye moun se fer, and knowe bi what weie ye schulen entre, for ye `yeden not bifore bi it; and be ye war, that ye neiye not to the arke. |
[4]Yet there shall be a spaceH7350 between you and it, about two thousandH505 cubitsH520 by measureH4060: come not nearH7126[H8799] unto it, that ye may knowH3045[H8799] the wayH1870 by which ye must goH3212[H8799]: for ye have not passedH5674[H8804] this wayH1870 heretoforeH8543.[H8032] |
| [5]And Josue seide to the puple, Be ye halewid, for to morew the Lord schal make merueilis among you. |

| [6]And Josue seide to the preestis, Take ye the arke of the boond of pees `of the Lord, and go ye bifor the puple. Whiche filliden the heestis, and tooken the arke, and yeden bifor hem. |

| [7]And the Lord seide to Josue, To dai Y schal bigynne to enhaunse thee bifor al Israel, that thei wite, that as Y was with Moises, so Y am also with thee. |

| [8]Forsothe comaunde thou to preestis, that beren the arke of bond of pees, and seie thou to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to a part of the watir of Jordan, stonde ye therynne. |
[8]And thou shalt commandH6680[H8762] the priestsH3548 that bearH5375[H8802] the arkH727 of the covenantH1285, sayingH559[H8800], When ye are comeH935[H8800] to the brinkH7097 of the waterH4325 of JordanH3383, ye shall stand stillH5975[H8799] in JordanH3383. |
| [9]And Josue seide to the sones of Israel, Neiye ye hidur, and here ye the word of youre Lord God. |

| [10]And eft he seide, In this ye schulen wite that the Lord God lyuynge is in the myddis of you; and he schal distrye in youre siyt Cananey, Ethei, Euey, and Feresei, and Gergesei, and Jebusei, and Amorrei. |
[10]And JoshuaH3091 saidH559[H8799], Hereby ye shall knowH3045[H8799] that the livingH2416 GodH410 is amongH7130 you, and that he will without failH3423[H8687] drive outH3423[H8686] from beforeH6440 you the CanaanitesH3669, and the HittitesH2850, and the HivitesH2340, and the PerizzitesH6522, and the GirgashitesH1622, and the AmoritesH567, and the JebusitesH2983. |
| [11]Lo! the arke of boond of pees of the Lord of al erthe schal go bifor you thorouy Jordan. |
[11]Behold, the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LordH113 of all the earthH776 passeth overH5674[H8802] beforeH6440 you into JordanH3383. |
| [12]Make ye redi twelue men of the twelue lynagis of Israel, bi ech lynage o man. |
[12]Now therefore takeH3947[H8798] you twelveH8147[H6240] menH376 out of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, out of everyH259 tribeH7626 a manH376. |
| [13]And whanne the preestis, that beren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord God of al erthe, han set the steppis of her feet in the watris of Jordan, the watris that ben lowere schulen renne doun, and schulen faile; forsothe the watris that comen fro aboue schulen stonde togidere in o gobet. |
[13]And it shall come to pass, as soon as the solesH3709 of the feetH7272 of the priestsH3548 that bearH5375[H8802] the arkH727 of the LORDH3068, the LordH113 of all the earthH776, shall restH5117[H8800] in the watersH4325 of JordanH3383, that the watersH4325 of JordanH3383 shall be cut offH3772[H8735] from the watersH4325 that come downH3381[H8802] from aboveH4605; and they shall standH5975[H8799] upon anH259 heapH5067. |
| [14]Therfor the puple yede out of her tabernaclis to passe Jordan; and the preestis that baren the arke of boond of pees yeden bifor the puple. |
[14]And it came to pass, when the peopleH5971 removedH5265[H8800] from their tentsH168, to pass overH5674[H8800] JordanH3383, and the priestsH3548 bearingH5375[H8802] the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 beforeH6440 the peopleH5971; |
| [15]And whanne the preestis entriden in to Jordan, and her feet weren dippid in the part of watir; forsothe Jordan `hadde fillid the brynkis of his trow in the tyme of `ripe corn; |
[15]And as they that bareH5375[H8802] the arkH727 were comeH935[H8800] unto JordanH3383, and the feetH7272 of the priestsH3548 that bareH5375[H8802] the arkH727 were dippedH2881[H8738] in the brimH7097 of the waterH4325, (for JordanH3383 overflowethH4390[H8804] all his banksH1415 all the timeH3117 of harvestH7105,) |
| [16]the watris yeden doun, and stoden in o place, and wexiden grete at the licnesse of an hil, and apperiden fer fro the citee that was clepid Edom, `til to the place of Sarthan; sotheli the watris that weren lowere yeden doun in to the see of wildirnesse, which is now clepid the deed see, `til the watris failiden outirli. |
[16]That the watersH4325 which came downH3381[H8802] from aboveH4605 stoodH5975[H8799] and rose upH6965[H8804] upon anH259 heapH5067 veryH3966 farH7368[H8687] from the cityH5892 AdamH121, that is besideH6654 ZaretanH6891: and those that came downH3381[H8802] toward the seaH3220 of the plainH6160, even the saltH4417 seaH3220, failedH8552[H8804], and were cut offH3772[H8738]: and the peopleH5971 passed overH5674[H8804] right against JerichoH3405. |
| [17]Forsothe the puple yede thorouy Jordan; and the preestis, that baren the arke of the boond of pees of the Lord, stoden gird on the drie erthe in the myddis of Jordan, and al the puple passide thorouy the drie trow. |
[17]And the priestsH3548 that bareH5375[H8802] the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 stoodH5975[H8799] firmH3559[H8687] on dry groundH2724 in the midstH8432 of JordanH3383, and all the IsraelitesH3478 passed overH5674[H8802] on dry groundH2724, until all the peopleH1471 were passedH5674 cleanH8552[H8804] overH5674[H8800] JordanH3383. |
