[2]I have lovedH157[H8804] you, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068. Yet ye sayH559[H8804], Wherein hast thou lovedH157[H8804] us? Was not EsauH6215 Jacob'sH3290 brotherH251? saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068: yet I lovedH157[H8799] JacobH3290, [2]I haue loued you saith the Lord: yet ye say, wherein hast thou loued vs? Was not Esau Iacobs brother, saith the Lorde, yet loued I Iacob
[3]And I hatedH8130[H8804] EsauH6215, and laidH7760[H8799] his mountainsH2022 and his heritageH5159 wasteH8077 for the dragonsH8568 of the wildernessH4057. [3]And I hated Esau, & made his mountaynes waste, and his heritage a wildernesse for Dragons
[4]Whereas EdomH123 saithH559[H8799], We are impoverishedH7567[H8795], but we will returnH7725[H8799] and buildH1129[H8799] the desolate placesH2723; thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, They shall buildH1129[H8799], but I will throw downH2040[H8799]; and they shall callH7121[H8804] them, The borderH1366 of wickednessH7564, and, The peopleH5971 against whom the LORDH3068 hath indignationH2194[H8804] forH5704 everH5769. [4]Though Edom say, We are impouerished, but we wil returne and builde the desolate places: yet saith the Lorde of hoastes, They shal builde, but I wil destroy: & they shal cal them, The border of wickednes, & the people with whom the Lorde is angry for euer
[5]And your eyesH5869 shall seeH7200[H8799], and ye shall sayH559[H8799], The LORDH3068 will be magnifiedH1431[H8799] from the borderH1366 of IsraelH3478. [5]And your eyes shall see: and you shal say, The Lorde wylbe magnified vpon the borders of Israel
[6]A sonH1121 honourethH3513[H8762] his fatherH1, and a servantH5650 his masterH113: if then I be a fatherH1, where is mine honourH3519? and if I be a masterH113, where is my fearH4172? saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 unto you, O priestsH3548, that despiseH959[H8802] my nameH8034. And ye sayH559[H8804], Wherein have we despisedH959[H8804] thy nameH8034? [6]A sonne honoureth his father, and a seruaunt his maister: If then I be a father, where is myne honour? if I be a maister, where is my feare? Saith the Lorde God of hoastes to you O ye pristes that despise my name, and ye say, Wherein haue we despised thy name
[7]Ye offerH5066[H8688] pollutedH1351[H8794] breadH3899 upon mine altarH4196; and ye sayH559[H8804], Wherein have we pollutedH1351[H8765] thee? In that ye sayH559[H8800], The tableH7979 of the LORDH3068 is contemptibleH959.[H8737] [7]Ye offer vpon myne aulter vncleane bread, and say, Wherein haue we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lorde is not to be regarded
[8]And if ye offerH5066[H8686] the blindH5787 for sacrificeH2076[H8800], is it not evilH7451? and if ye offerH5066[H8686] the lameH6455 and sickH2470[H8802], is it not evilH7451? offerH7126[H8685] it now unto thy governorH6346; will he be pleasedH7521[H8799] with thee, or acceptH5375[H8799] thy personH6440? saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. [8]When ye bring the blinde for sacrifice, [you say] it is not euil: and when ye bring the lame and sicke, [you say] it is not euil: offer it nowe to thy prince, wyll he be content with thee, or accept thy person, saith the Lorde of hoastes
[9]And now, I pray you, beseechH2470[H8761][H6440] GodH410 that he will be graciousH2603[H8799] unto us: this hath been by your meansH3027: will he regardH5375[H8799] your personsH6440? saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. [9]And now I pray you, pray before God, that he may haue mercie vpon vs: (this [euill] hath ben done by your meanes) wyll he regarde your persons, saith the Lorde of hoastes
[10]Who is there even among you that would shutH5462[H8799] the doorsH1817 for nought? neither do ye kindleH215[H8686] fire on mine altarH4196 for noughtH2600. I have no pleasureH2656 in you, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, neither will I acceptH7521[H8799] an offeringH4503 at your handH3027. [10]Who is there euen among you that would shutte the doores, and kindle not fire on myne aulter in vaine? I haue no pleasure in you, saith the Lorde of hoastes, neither wyll I accept an offering at your hande
[11]For from the risingH4217 of the sunH8121 even unto the going downH3996 of the same my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the GentilesH1471; and in every placeH4725 incenseH6999[H8716] shall be offeredH5066[H8716] unto my nameH8034, and a pureH2889 offeringH4503: for my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the heathenH1471, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. [11]From the rysing of the sunne vnto the going downe of the same my name is great among the gentiles, and in euery place incense shalbe offred to my name, & a pure offering: for my name is great among the very heathen, saith the Lord of hoastes
[12]But ye have profanedH2490[H8764] it, in that ye sayH559[H8800], The tableH7979 of the LORDH3068 is pollutedH1351[H8794]; and the fruitH5108 thereof, even his meatH400, is contemptibleH959.[H8737] [12]But ye haue polluted it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted, & the fruite thereof, [euen] his meate is not to be regarded
[13]Ye saidH559[H8804] also, Behold, what a wearinessH4972 is it! and ye have snuffedH5301[H8689] at it, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635; and ye broughtH935[H8689] that which was tornH1497[H8803], and the lameH6455, and the sickH2470[H8802]; thus ye broughtH935[H8689] an offeringH4503: should I acceptH7521[H8799] this of your handH3027? saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068. [13]And ye saide, beholde [it is] a weerynesse, and you haue snuffed at it saith the Lorde of hoastes, and ye haue offered the stolne, and the lame, and the sicke, ye haue offered an offering: shoulde I accept this of your handes, saith the lorde
[14]But cursedH779[H8803] be the deceiverH5230[H8802], whichH3426 hath in his flockH5739 a maleH2145, and vowethH5087[H8802], and sacrificethH2076[H8802] unto the LordH136 a corrupt thingH7843[H8716]: for I am a greatH1419 KingH4428, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, and my nameH8034 is dreadfulH3372[H8737] among the heathenH1471. [14]Cursed be the deceitfull which hath in his flocke a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth a corrupt thing to the Lorde: because I am a great king, saith the lord of hoastes, and my name is fearefull among the heathen
