| [2]If ye wyl not heare it nor regard it, to geue the glory to my name, saith the Lorde of hoastes, I wyll sende a curse vpon you, and wyll curse your blessinges, yea I haue cursed them alredie, because ye do not consider it in your heart |
[2]If ye will not hearH8085[H8799], and if ye will not layH7760[H8799] it to heartH3820, to giveH5414[H8800] gloryH3519 unto my nameH8034, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, I will even sendH7971[H8765] a curseH3994 upon you, and I will curseH779[H8804] your blessingsH1293: yea, I have cursedH779[H8804] them already, because ye do not layH7760[H8802] it to heartH3820. |
| [3]Beholde, I wyll corrupt your seede, and cast doung on your faces, [euen] the doung of your solempne feastes, & you shalbe like vnto it |
[3]Behold, I will corruptH1605[H8802] your seedH2233, and spreadH2219[H8765] dungH6569 upon your facesH6440, even the dungH6569 of your solemn feastsH2282; and one shall take you awayH5375 with itH8804. |
| [4]And you shall know that I haue sent this comaundement vnto you, that my couenaunt which I haue made with Leui might stand, saith the Lorde of hoastes |
[4]And ye shall knowH3045[H8804] that I have sentH7971[H8765] this commandmentH4687 unto you, that my covenantH1285 might be with LeviH3878, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [5]My couenaunt was with him, of lyfe and peace, and I gaue them him [for] the feare wherwith he feared me and was afrayde before my name |
[5]My covenantH1285 was with him of lifeH2416 and peaceH7965; and I gaveH5414[H8799] them to him for the fearH4172 wherewith he fearedH3372[H8799] me, and was afraidH2865[H8738] beforeH6440 my nameH8034. |
| [6]The lawe of trueth was in his mouth, and there was no iniquitie found in his lippes, he walked with me in peace and in equitie, and he turned many from their iniquitie |
[6]The lawH8451 of truthH571 was in his mouthH6310, and iniquityH5766 was not foundH4672[H8738] in his lipsH8193: he walkedH1980[H8804] with me in peaceH7965 and equityH4334, and did turnH7725 manyH7227 awayH7725[H8689] from iniquityH5771. |
| [7]For the priestes lippes shall kepe knowledge, and they shall seeke the lawe at his mouth: because he is the messenger of the Lorde of hoastes |
[7]For the priest'sH3548 lipsH8193 should keepH8104[H8799] knowledgeH1847, and they should seekH1245[H8762] the lawH8451 at his mouthH6310: for he is the messengerH4397 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [8]But ye haue gone out of the way, ye haue caused many to fall by the lawe: ye haue corrupted the couenaunt of Leui, saith the Lorde of hoastes |
[8]But ye are departedH5493[H8804] out of the wayH1870; ye have caused manyH7227 to stumbleH3782[H8689] at the lawH8451; ye have corruptedH7843[H8765] the covenantH1285 of LeviH3878, saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [9]Therefore haue I also made you despised and vyle before all the people, because you kept not my wayes, but haue ben parciall in the lawe |
[9]Therefore have I also madeH5414[H8804] you contemptibleH959[H8737] and baseH8217 before all the peopleH5971, accordingH6310 as ye have not keptH8104[H8802] my waysH1870, but have been partialH5375[H8802][H6440] in the lawH8451. |
| [10]Haue we not all one father? hath not God made vs al? why then is euery one deceaued of his brother, to violate the couenaunt of our fathers |
[10]Have we not all oneH259 fatherH1? hath not oneH259 GodH410 createdH1254[H8804] us? why do we deal treacherouslyH898[H8799] every manH376 against his brotherH251, by profaningH2490[H8763] the covenantH1285 of our fathersH1? |
| [11]Iuda hath offended, & abhomination is committed in Israel and in Hierusalem? for Iuda hath defiled the holynesse of the Lorde which he loued, and hath maried the daughter of a straunge God |
[11]JudahH3063 hath dealt treacherouslyH898[H8804], and an abominationH8441 is committedH6213[H8738] in IsraelH3478 and in JerusalemH3389; for JudahH3063 hath profanedH2490[H8765] the holinessH6944 of the LORDH3068 which he lovedH157[H8804], and hath marriedH1166[H8804] the daughterH1323 of a strangeH5236 godH410. |
| [12]The Lorde wyll destroy the man that doth this, both the rayser vp and the aunswerer out of the tabernacle of Iacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lorde of hoastes |
[12]The LORDH3068 will cut offH3772[H8686] the manH376 that doethH6213[H8799] this, the masterH5782[H8802] and the scholarH6030[H8802], out of the tabernaclesH168 of JacobH3290, and him that offerethH5066[H8688] an offeringH4503 unto the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. |
| [13]And this againe haue ye done, in couering the aulter of the Lorde with teares, with weeping and mourning, and therfore there is no more respect to the offring, neither acceptable receauing of it at your handes |
[13]And this have ye doneH6213[H8799] againH8145, coveringH3680[H8763] the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 with tearsH1832, with weepingH1065, and with crying outH603, insomuch that he regardethH6437[H8800] not the offeringH4503 any more, or receivethH3947[H8800] it with good willH7522 at your handH3027. |
| [14]Yet ye say, wherin? Because the Lord hath ben witnesse betweene thee and thy wyfe of thy youth, against whom thou hast transgressed, yet is she thyne owne companion, and the wyfe of thy couenaunt |
[14]Yet ye sayH559[H8804], WhereforeH4100? Because the LORDH3068 hath been witnessH5749[H8689] between thee and the wifeH802 of thy youthH5271, against whom thou hast dealt treacherouslyH898[H8804]: yet is she thy companionH2278, and the wifeH802 of thy covenantH1285. |
| [15]And did not he make one? yet had he aboundaunce of spiritie: And wherfore one? Because he sought a godly seede: therefore kepe your selues in your spirite, and let none transgresse against the wyfe of his youth |

| [16]If thou hatest her, put her away, saith the lorde God of Israel: yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saith the Lorde of hoastes, and be ye kept in your spirite, and transgresse not |

| [17]Ye haue weeryed the Lord with your wordes, and you haue sayde, Wherein haue we weeried him? Whylest you say, Euery one that doth euil, is good in the sight of the Lorde, and he is pleased in them: or where is the God of iudgement |
[17]Ye have weariedH3021[H8689] the LORDH3068 with your wordsH1697. Yet ye sayH559[H8804], Wherein have we weariedH3021[H8689] him? When ye sayH559[H8800], Every one that doethH6213[H8802] evilH7451 is goodH2896 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, and he delightethH2654[H8804] in them; or, Where is the GodH430 of judgmentH4941? |
