| [1]ובתר שׁתא יומינ דבר ישׁוע לכאפא וליעקוב וליוחננ אחוהי ואסק אנונ לטורא רמא בלחודיהונ |
[1]And after six days, Jesus took Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brought them up into an high mountain apart, |
| [2]ואשׁתחלפ ישׁוע קדמיהונ ונהר פרצופה איכ שׁמשׁא נחתוהי דינ חורו איכ נוהרא |
[2]And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his clothes were as white as the light. |
| [3]ואתחזיו להונ מושׁא ואליא כד ממללינ עמה |
[3]And behold, there appeared unto them Moses, and Elijah, talking with him. |
| [4]ענא דינ כאפא ואמר לישׁוע מרי שׁפיר הו לנ דתננ נהוא ואנ צבא אנת נעבד תננ תלת מטלינ חדא לכ וחדא למושׁא וחדא לאליא |
[4]Then answered Peter, and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. |
| [5]ועד הו ממלל הא עננא נהירתא אטלת עליהונ וקלא הוא מנ עננא דאמר הנו ברי חביבא דבה אצטבית לה שׁמעו |
[5]While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud shadowed them: and behold, there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear him. |
| [6]וכד שׁמעו תלמידא נפלו על אפיהונ ודחלו טב |
[6]And when the disciples heard that, they fell on their faces and were sore afraid. |
| [7]ואתקרב לותהונ ישׁוע וקרב להונ ואמר קומו לא תדחלונ |
[7]Then Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. |
| [8]וארימו עיניהונ ולאנשׁ לא חזו אלא אנ לישׁוע בלחודוהי |
[8]And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. |
| [9]וכד נחתינ מנ טורא פקד אנונ ישׁוע ואמר להונ לעינ אנשׁ לא תאמרונ חזוא הנא עדמא דנקומ ברה דאנשׁא מנ מיתא |
[9]And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Show the vision to no man, until the Son of man rise again from the dead. |
| [10]ושׁאלוהי תלמידוהי ואמרינ לה מנא הכיל ספרא אמרינ דאליא ולא דנאתא לוקדמ |
[10]And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the Scribes that Elijah must first come? |
| [11]ענא ישׁוע ואמר אליא אתא לוקדמ דכל מדמ נשׁלמ |
[11]And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Certainly Elijah must first come, and restore all things. |
| [12]אמר אנא לכונ דינ דהא אליא אתא ולא ידעוהי ועבדו בה כל מא דצבו הכנא אפ ברה דאנשׁא עתיד דנחשׁ מנהונ |
[12]But I say unto you, that Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they would: likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. |
| [13]הידינ אסתכלו תלמידא דעל יוחננ מעמדנא אמר להונ |
[13]Then the disciples perceived that he spake unto them of John Baptist. |
| [14]וכד אתו לות כנשׁא קרב לה גברא וברכ על בורכוהי |
[14]And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, and kneeled down to him. |
| [15]ואמר לה מרי אתרחמ עלי ברי דאית לה בר אגרא ובישׁאית עביד כמא גיר זבנינ בנורא נפל וכמא זבנינ במיא |
[15]And said, Master, have pity on my son: for he is lunatic, and is sore vexed: for oft times he falleth into the fire, and oft times into the water. |
| [16]וקרבתה לתלמידיכ ולא אשׁכחו למאסיותה |
[16]And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heal him. |
| [17]ענא ישׁוע ואמר אונ שׁרבתא דלא מהימנא ומעקלתא עדמא לאמתי אהוא עמכונ ועדמא לאמתי אסיברכונ איתיהי לי לכא |
[17]Then Jesus answered, and said, O generation, faithless, and crooked, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! bring him thither to me. |
| [18]וכאא בה ישׁוע ונפק מנה שׁאדא ואתאסי טליא מנ הי שׁעתא |
[18]And Jesus rebuked the devil, and he went out of him: and the child was healed at that hour. |
| [19]הידינ קרבו תלמידא לות ישׁוע בלחודוהי ואמרו לה למנא חננ לא אשׁכחנ למאסיותה |
[19]Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? |
| [20]אמר להונ ישׁוע מטל לא הימנותכונ אמינ גיר אמר אנא לכונ דאנ תהוא בכונ הימנותא איכ פרדתא דחרדלא תאמרונ לטורא הנא דשׁנא מכא ונשׁנא ומדמ לא נחסנכונ |
[20]And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as much as is a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible unto you. |
| [21]הנא דינ גנסא לא נפק אלא בצומא ובצלותא |
[21]Howbeit this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting. |
| [22]כד מתהפכינ דינ בגלילא אמר להונ ישׁוע עתיד הו ברה דאנשׁא דנשׁתלמ באידי בני אנשׁא |
[22]And as they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men, |
| [23]ונקטלוניהי וליומא דתלתא נקומ וכרית להונ טב |
[23]And they shall kill him, but the third day shall he rise again: and they were very sorry. |
| [24]וכד אתו לכפרנחומ קרבו הנונ דנסבינ תרינ תרינ זוזינ דכספ רשׁא לות כאפא ואמרו לה רבכונ לא יהב תרינ זוזוהי |
[24]And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received poll money, came to Peter, and said, Doth not your Master pay tribute? |
| [25]אמר להונ אינ וכד על כאפא לביתא קדמה ישׁוע ואמר לה מנא מתחזא לכ שׁמעונ מלכיה דארעא מנ מנ נסבינ מכסא וכספ רשׁא מנ בניהונ או מנ נוכריא |
[25]He said, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? Of whom do the Kings of the earth take tribute, or poll money? of their children, or of strangers? |
| [26]אמר לה שׁמעונ מנ נוכריא אמר לה ישׁוע מדינ בני חארא אנונ בניא |
[26]Peter said unto him, Of strangers. Then said Jesus unto him, Then are the children free. |
| [27]דלא דינ נכשׁל אנונ זל לימא וארמא בלועא ונונא קדמיא דסלק פתח פומה ותשׁכח אסתרא הי סב והב חלפי וחלפיכ |
[27]Nevertheless, lest we should offend them: go to the sea, and cast in an angle, and take the first fish that cometh up, and when you hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of twenty pence: that take, and give it unto them for me and thee. |
