| [1]προσέχετε [δὲ] τὴν δικαιοσύνην ὑμῶν μὴ ποιεῖν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων πρὸς τὸ θεαθῆναι αὐτοῖς· εἰ δὲ μή γε, μισθὸν οὐκ ἔχετε παρὰ τῶ πατρὶ ὑμῶν τῶ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς. |
[1]Pay attention but in your charity-giving that not you do it before sons of men so that you may be seen by them otherwise reward there is no for you with your Father in Heaven |
| [2]ὅταν οὗν ποιῇς ἐλεημοσύνην, μὴ σαλπίσῃς ἔμπροσθέν σου, ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ ποιοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς ῥύμαις, ὅπως δοξασθῶσιν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν. |
[2]When therefore do you charity-giving not you shall blast a trumpet before you like do receivers of faces in the synagogues and in the streets so that they may be glorified from sons of men and truly say I to you they have received their reward |
| [3]σοῦ δὲ ποιοῦντος ἐλεημοσύνην μὴ γνώτω ἡ ἀριστερά σου τί ποιεῖ ἡ δεξιά σου, |
[3]You but whenever do you charity giving not let know your left what? is doing your right |
| [4]ὅπως ᾖ σου ἡ ἐλεημοσύνη ἐν τῶ κρυπτῶ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῶ κρυπτῶ ἀποδώσει σοι. |
[4]So that may be your charity in secret and your Father Who sees in secret He will reward you in public |
| [5]καὶ ὅταν προσεύχησθε, οὐκ ἔσεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταί· ὅτι φιλοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς γωνίαις τῶν πλατειῶν ἑστῶτες προσεύχεσθαι, ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν. |
[5]And when pray you not you will be like receivers of faces who like to stand in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets to pray that they appear to children of men and truly say I to you they have received their reward |
| [6]σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ, εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν σου πρόσευξαι τῶ πατρί σου τῶ ἐν τῶ κρυπτῶ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῶ κρυπτῶ ἀποδώσει σοι. |
[6]You but when pray you enter your closet and lock your door and pray to your Father Who is in secret and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you in public |
| [7]προσευχόμενοι δὲ μὴ βατταλογήσητε ὥσπερ οἱ ἐθνικοί, δοκοῦσιν γὰρ ὅτι ἐν τῇ πολυλογίᾳ αὐτῶν εἰσακουσθήσονται. |
[7]And whenever praying you are not you shall be verbose like the heathen they think for that by speaking much they are heard |
| [8]μὴ οὗν ὁμοιωθῆτε αὐτοῖς, οἶδεν γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὧν χρείαν ἔχετε πρὸ τοῦ ὑμᾶς αἰτῆσαι αὐτόν. |
[8]Not therefore you shall be like to them your Father for knows what? is needed to you before you ask Him |
| [9]οὕτως οὗν προσεύχεσθε ὑμεῖς· πάτερ ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς, ἁγιασθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου, |
[9]Thus therefore pray you our Father Who are in Heaven hallowed be Your Name |
| [10]ἐλθέτω ἡ βασιλεία σου, γενηθήτω τὸ θέλημά σου, ὡς ἐν οὐρανῶ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς. |
[10]Let come thy Kingdom let be done Your will just as in Heaven also in the earth |
| [11]τὸν ἄρτον ἡμῶν τὸν ἐπιούσιον δὸς ἡμῖν σήμερον· |
[11]Give to us the bread of our need today |
| [12]καὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν, ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν τοῖς ὀφειλέταις ἡμῶν· |
[12]And forgive us our debts just as also we forgive our debtors |
| [13]καὶ μὴ εἰσενέγκῃς ἡμᾶς εἰς πειρασμόν, ἀλλὰ ῥῦσαι ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ. |
[13]And not lead us to temptation but deliver us from evil because Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory to an age of ages |
| [14]ἐὰν γὰρ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν, ἀφήσει καὶ ὑμῖν ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος· |
[14]If for you forgive the children of men their faults will forgive also you your Father Who is in Heaven |
| [15]ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις, οὐδὲ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ἀφήσει τὰ παραπτώματα ὑμῶν. |
[15]If but not you will forgive the children of men neither your Father has forgiven you your faults |
| [16]ὅταν δὲ νηστεύητε, μὴ γίνεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταὶ σκυθρωποί, ἀφανίζουσιν γὰρ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύοντες· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν. |
[16]When but fasting you are not be sad like receivers of faces they disfigure for their faces so that they may appear to the children of men to fast and truly say I to you that they have received their reward |
| [17]σὺ δὲ νηστεύων ἄλειψαί σου τὴν κεφαλὴν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπόν σου νίψαι, |
[17]You but whenever will fast you wash your face and anoint your head |
| [18]ὅπως μὴ φανῇς τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύων ἀλλὰ τῶ πατρί σου τῶ ἐν τῶ κρυφαίῳ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῶ κρυφαίῳ ἀποδώσει σοι. |
[18]So that not you may appear to the children of men that fasting you are but to your Father Who is in secret and your Father Who sees in secret He will reward you |
| [19]μὴ θησαυρίζετε ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅπου σὴς καὶ βρῶσις ἀφανίζει, καὶ ὅπου κλέπται διορύσσουσιν καὶ κλέπτουσιν· |
[19]Not you shall place for yourselves treasures on the earth where moths and corrosion are disfiguring and where thieves break in and steal |
| [20]θησαυρίζετε δὲ ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐν οὐρανῶ, ὅπου οὔτε σὴς οὔτε βρῶσις ἀφανίζει, καὶ ὅπου κλέπται οὐ διορύσσουσιν οὐδὲ κλέπτουσιν· |
[20]But place for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moths nor corrosion are disfiguring and where thieves neither break in nor steal |
| [21]ὅπου γάρ ἐστιν ὁ θησαυρός σου, ἐκεῖ ἔσται καὶ ἡ καρδία σου. |
[21]Where for is your treasure there is also your heart |
| [22]ὁ λύχνος τοῦ σώματός ἐστιν ὁ ὀφθαλμός. ἐὰν οὗν ᾖ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἁπλοῦς, ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου φωτεινὸν ἔσται· |
[22]The lamp of the body is the eye if your eye therefore shall be sound also whole your body illuminated will be |
| [23]ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρὸς ᾖ, ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου σκοτεινὸν ἔσται. εἰ οὗν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἐν σοὶ σκότος ἐστίν, τὸ σκότος πόσον. |
[23]If but your eye shall be evil entire your body darkness will be if therefore the light that is in you darkness is your darkness how great! will be |
| [24]οὐδεὶς δύναται δυσὶ κυρίοις δουλεύειν· ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μισήσει καὶ τὸν ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει, ἢ ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται καὶ τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει· οὐ δύνασθε θεῶ δουλεύειν καὶ μαμωνᾷ. |
[24]No man is able for two masters to work either for one he will hate and the other he will like or one he will honor and the other he will neglect not able you are for Alaha to work and for money |
| [25]διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν, μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ ὑμῶν τί φάγητε [ἢ τί πίητε,] μηδὲ τῶ σώματι ὑμῶν τί ἐνδύσησθε· οὐχὶ ἡ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος; |
[25]Because of this say I to you not you should worry for yourselves what? you will eat or what? you will drink neither for your body what? you will put on not? behold the soul is greater than food and the body than clothing |
| [26]ἐμβλέψατε εἰς τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὅτι οὐ σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ θερίζουσιν οὐδὲ συνάγουσιν εἰς ἀποθήκας, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος τρέφει αὐτά· οὐχ ὑμεῖς μᾶλλον διαφέρετε αὐτῶν; |
[26]Behold the birds of the heavens that neither do they sow nor do they reap neither do they gather into barns and your Father Who is in Heaven sustains them not? behold you better are than they |
| [27]τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται προσθεῖναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ πῆχυν ἕνα; |
[27]Who? but from you when worrying is able to add on his stature cubit one |
| [28]καὶ περὶ ἐνδύματος τί μεριμνᾶτε; καταμάθετε τὰ κρίνα τοῦ ἀγροῦ πῶς αὐξάνουσιν· οὐ κοπιῶσιν οὐδὲ νήθουσιν· |
[28]And about clothing why? worry do you consider the lilies of the field how they grow without laboring neither weaving |
| [29]λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδὲ σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων. |
[29]Say I to you but that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these |
| [30]εἰ δὲ τὸν χόρτον τοῦ ἀγροῦ σήμερον ὄντα καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέννυσιν, οὐ πολλῶ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς, ὀλιγόπιστοι; |
[30]If but the grass of the field that today is and tomorrow will be cast into the oven Alaha thus clothes not? does He multiply more to you little ones of faith |
| [31]μὴ οὗν μεριμνήσητε λέγοντες, τί φάγωμεν; ἤ, τί πίωμεν; ἤ, τί περιβαλώμεθα; |
[31]Not therefore you shall worry or you shall say what? will we eat or what? will we drink or what? will we wear |
| [32]πάντα γὰρ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἐπιζητοῦσιν· οἶδεν γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων ἁπάντων. |
[32]All for these the nations are seeking things your Father but Who is in Heaven knows that also for you are necessary these things all |
| [33]ζητεῖτε δὲ πρῶτον τὴν βασιλείαν [τοῦ θεοῦ] καὶ τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτοῦ, καὶ ταῦτα πάντα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν. |
[33]Seek but first the Kingdom of Alaha and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you |
| [34]μὴ οὗν μεριμνήσητε εἰς τὴν αὔριον, ἡ γὰρ αὔριον μεριμνήσει ἑαυτῆς· ἀρκετὸν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἡ κακία αὐτῆς. |
[34]Not therefore shall you worry of tomorrow it for tomorrow will worry of itself is sufficient for it for the day its evil |
