| [1]Now gatherH1413[H8704] thyself in troopsH1416, O daughterH1323 of troopsH1416: he hath laidH7760[H8804] siegeH4692 against us: they shall smiteH5221[H8686] the judgeH8199[H8802] of IsraelH3478 with a rodH7626 upon the cheekH3895. |
| [2]And thou, Bethleem Effrata, art litil in the thousyndis of Juda; he that is the lordli gouernour in Israel, schal go out of thee to me; and the goyng out of hym is fro bigynnyng, fro daies of euerlastyngnesse. |
[2]But thou, BethlehemH1035 EphratahH672, though thou be littleH6810 among the thousandsH505 of JudahH3063, yet out of thee shall he come forthH3318[H8799] unto me that is to be rulerH4910[H8802] in IsraelH3478; whose goings forthH4163 have been from of oldH6924, from everlastingH3117.[H5769] |
| [3]For this thing he shal yyue hem til to the tyme in which the trauelinge of child schal bere child, and the relifs of hise britheren schulen be conuertid to the sones of Israel. |
[3]Therefore will he give them upH5414[H8799], until the timeH6256 that she which travailethH3205[H8802] hath brought forthH3205[H8804]: then the remnantH3499 of his brethrenH251 shall returnH7725[H8799] unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
| [4]And he schal stonde, and schal fede in the strengthe of the Lord, in the heiythe of the name of his Lord God; and thei schulen be conuertid, for now he schal be magnefied til to the endis of al erthe. |
[4]And he shall standH5975[H8804] and feedH7462[H8804] in the strengthH5797 of the LORDH3068, in the majestyH1347 of the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430; and they shall abideH3427[H8804]: for now shall he be greatH1431[H8799] unto the endsH657 of the earthH776. |
| [5]And this schal be pees, whanne Assirius schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure housis; and we schulen reise on hym seuene scheepherdis, and eiyte primatis men, ether the firste in dignytee. |
[5]And this man shall be the peaceH7965, when the AssyrianH804 shall comeH935[H8799] into our landH776: and when he shall treadH1869[H8799] in our palacesH759, then shall we raiseH6965[H8689] against him sevenH7651 shepherdsH7462[H8802], and eightH8083 principalH5257 menH120. |
| [6]And thei schulen frete the lond of Assur bi swerd, and the lond of Nembroth bi speris of hym; and he schal delyuere vs fro Assur, whanne he schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure coostis. |
[6]And they shall wasteH7462[H8804] the landH776 of AssyriaH804 with the swordH2719, and the landH776 of NimrodH5248 in the entrancesH6607 thereof: thus shall he deliverH5337[H8689] us from the AssyrianH804, when he comethH935[H8799] into our landH776, and when he treadethH1869[H8799] within our bordersH1366. |
| [7]And relifs of Jacob schulen be in the myddil of many puplis, as dew of the Lord, and as dropis on erbe, whiche abidith not man, and schal not abide sones of men. |
[7]And the remnantH7611 of JacobH3290 shall be in the midstH7130 of manyH7227 peopleH5971 as a dewH2919 from the LORDH3068, as the showersH7241 upon the grassH6212, that tarriethH6960[H8762] not for manH376, nor waitethH3176[H8762] for the sonsH1121 of menH120. |
| [8]And relifs of Jacob schulen be in hethene men, in the myddil of many puplis, as a lioun in beestis of the woodis, and as a whelpe of a lioun rorynge in flockis of scheep; and whanne he passith, and defoulith, and takith, there is not that schal delyuere. |
[8]And the remnantH7611 of JacobH3290 shall be among the GentilesH1471 in the midstH7130 of manyH7227 peopleH5971 as a lionH738 among the beastsH929 of the forestH3293, as a young lionH3715 among the flocksH5739 of sheepH6629: who, if he go throughH5674[H8804], both treadeth downH7429[H8804], and teareth in piecesH2963[H8804], and none can deliverH5337.[H8688] |
| [9]And thin hond schal be reisid on thin enemyes, and alle thin enemyes schulen perische. |
[9]Thine handH3027 shall be lifted upH7311[H8799] upon thine adversariesH6862, and all thine enemiesH341[H8802] shall be cut offH3772.[H8735] |
| [10]And it schal be, in that dai, seith the Lord, Y schal take awei thin horsis fro the myddil of thee, and Y schal distrie thi foure horsid cartis. |
[10]And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that I will cut offH3772[H8689] thy horsesH5483 out of the midstH7130 of thee, and I will destroyH6[H8689] thy chariotsH4818: |
| [11]And Y schal leese the citees of thi lond, and Y schal distrie alle thi strengthis; and Y schal do awei witchecraftis fro thin hond, and dyuynaciouns schulen not be in thee. |
[11]And I will cut offH3772[H8689] the citiesH6145[H8676][H5892] of thy landH776, and throw downH2040[H8804] all thy strong holdsH4013: |
| [12]And Y schal make for to perische thi `grauun ymagis, and Y schal breke togidere fro the myddil of thee thin ymagis, and thou schalt no more worschipe the werkis of thin hondis. |
[12]And I will cut offH3772[H8689] witchcraftsH3785 out of thine handH3027; and thou shalt have no more soothsayersH6049:[H8781] |
| [13]And Y schal drawe out of the middis of thee thi woodis, and Y schal al to-breke thi citees. |
[13]Thy graven imagesH6456 also will I cut offH3772[H8689], and thy standing imagesH4676 out of the midstH7130 of thee; and thou shalt no more worshipH7812[H8691] the workH4639 of thine handsH3027. |
| [14]And Y schal make in woodnesse and indignacioun veniaunce in alle folkis, whiche herden not. |
[14]And I will pluck upH5428[H8804] thy grovesH842 out of the midstH7130 of thee: so will I destroyH8045[H8689] thy citiesH6145[H8676].[H5892] |
| [15]And I will executeH6213[H8804] vengeanceH5359 in angerH639 and furyH2534 upon the heathenH1471, such as they have not heardH8085.[H8804] |
