[[A Psalm Chapter of David.]]
[1]A PsalmH4210 of DavidH1732. LORDH3068, I cryH7121[H8804] unto thee: make hasteH2363[H8798] unto me; give earH238[H8685] unto my voiceH6963, when I cryH7121 unto theeH8800. [1]O Lord, I call upon thee: haste thee unto me: hear my voice, when I cry unto thee.
[2]Let my prayerH8605 be set forthH3559[H8735] beforeH6440 thee as incenseH7004; and the lifting upH4864 of my handsH3709 as the eveningH6153 sacrificeH4503. [2]Let my prayer be directed in thy sight as incense, and the lifting up of mine hands as an evening sacrifice.
[3]SetH7896[H8798] a watchH8108, O LORDH3068, before my mouthH6310; keepH5341[H8798] the doorH1817 of my lipsH8193. [3]Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth, and keep the door of my lips.
[4]InclineH5186[H8686] not my heartH3820 to any evilH7451 thingH1697, to practiseH5953[H8705] wickedH7562 worksH5949 with menH376 that workH6466[H8802] iniquityH205: and let me not eatH3898[H8799] of their daintiesH4516. [4]Incline not mine heart to evil, that I should commit wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their delicates.
[5]Let the righteousH6662 smiteH1986[H8799] me; it shall be a kindnessH2617: and let him reproveH3198[H8686] me; it shall be an excellentH7218 oilH8081, which shall not breakH5106[H8686] my headH7218: for yet my prayerH8605 also shall be in their calamitiesH7451. [5]Let the righteous smite me: for that is a benefit: and let him reprove me, and it shall be a precious oil, that shall not break mine head: for within a while I shall even pray in their miseries.
[6]When their judgesH8199[H8802] are overthrownH8058[H8738] in stonyH5553 placesH3027, they shall hearH8085[H8804] my wordsH561; for they are sweetH5276.[H8804] [6]When their judges shall be cast down in stony places, they shall hear my words, for they are sweet.
[7]Our bonesH6106 are scatteredH6340[H8738] at the grave'sH7585 mouthH6310, as when one cuttethH6398[H8802] and cleavethH1234[H8802] wood upon the earthH776. [7]Our bones lie scattered at the grave's mouth, as he that heweth wood or diggeth in the earth.
[8]But mine eyesH5869 are unto thee, O GODH3069 the LordH136: in thee is my trustH2620[H8804]; leaveH6168 not my soulH5315 destituteH6168.[H8762] [8]But mine eyes look unto thee, O Lord God: in thee is my trust: leave not my soul destitute.
[9]KeepH8104[H8798] me from the snaresH3027[H6341] which they have laidH3369[H8804] for me, and the ginsH4170 of the workersH6466[H8802] of iniquityH205. [9]Keep me from the snare, which they have laid for me, and from the gins of the workers of iniquity.
[10]Let the wickedH7563 fallH5307[H8799] into their own netsH4364, whilst that I withalH3162 escapeH5674.[H8799] [10]Let the wicked fall into his nets together, whiles I escape.
