[[A Psalm Chapter of David to give instruction.]]
[1]A Psalm of DavidH1732, MaschilH4905[H8688]. BlessedH835 is he whose transgressionH6588 is forgivenH5375[H8803], whose sinH2401 is coveredH3680.[H8803] [1]Blessed is he whose wickedness is forgiven, and whose sin is covered.
[2]BlessedH835 is the manH120 unto whom the LORDH3068 imputethH2803[H8799] not iniquityH5771, and in whose spiritH7307 there is no guileH7423. [2]Blessed is the man, unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
[3]When I kept silenceH2790[H8689], my bonesH6106 waxed oldH1086[H8804] through my roaringH7581 all the day longH3117. [3]When I held my tongue, my bones consumed, or when I roared all the day,
[4]For dayH3119 and nightH3915 thy handH3027 was heavyH3513[H8799] upon me: my moistureH3955 is turnedH2015[H8738] into the droughtH2725 of summerH7019. SelahH5542. [4](For thine hand is heavy upon me, day and night: and my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah)
[5]I acknowledgedH3045[H8686] my sinH2403 unto thee, and mine iniquityH5771 have I not hidH3680[H8765]. I saidH559[H8804], I will confessH3034[H8686] my transgressionsH6588 unto the LORDH3068; and thou forgavestH5375[H8804] the iniquityH5771 of my sinH2403. SelahH5542. [5]Then I acknowledged my sin unto thee, neither hid I mine iniquity: for I thought, I will confess against myself my wickedness unto the Lord, and thou forgavest the punishment of my sin. Selah.
[6]For this shall every one that is godlyH2623 prayH6419[H8691] unto thee in a timeH6256 when thou mayest be foundH4672[H8800]: surely in the floodsH7858 of greatH7227 watersH4325 they shall not come nighH5060 unto himH8686. [6]Therefore shall every one, that is godly, make his prayer unto thee in a time, when thou mayest be found: surely in the flood of great waters they shall not come near him.
[7]Thou art my hiding placeH5643; thou shalt preserveH5341[H8799] me from troubleH6862; thou shalt compassH5437[H8779] me about with songsH7438 of deliveranceH6405. SelahH5542. [7]Thou art my secret place: thou preservest me from trouble: thou compassest me about with joyful deliverance. Selah.
[8]I will instructH7919[H8686] thee and teachH3384[H8686] thee in the wayH1870 whichH2098 thou shalt goH3212[H8799]: I will guideH3289[H8799] thee with mine eyeH5869. [8]I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way that thou shalt go, and I will guide thee with mine eye.
[9]Be ye not as the horseH5483, or as the muleH6505, which have no understandingH995[H8687]: whose mouthH5716 must be heldH1102[H8800] in with bitH4964 and bridleH7448, lestH1077 they come nearH7126 unto theeH8800. [9]Be ye not like an horse, or like a mule, which understand not: whose mouths thou dost bind with bit and bridle, lest they come near thee.
[10]ManyH7227 sorrowsH4341 shall be to the wickedH7563: but he that trustethH982[H8802] in the LORDH3068, mercyH2617 shall compassH5437 him aboutH8779. [10]Many sorrows shall come to the wicked: but he, that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him.
[11]Be gladH8055[H8798] in the LORDH3068, and rejoiceH1523[H8798], ye righteousH6662: and shoutH7442[H8685] for joy, all ye that are uprightH3477 in heartH3820. [11]Be glad ye righteous, and rejoice in the Lord, and be joyful all ye, that are upright in heart.
