The King James Version (w/Strong's)
KJV+
[1]And it is maad in the fourthe yeer of Darius, kyng, the word of the Lord was maad to Sacarie, in the fourthe dai of the nynthe monethe, that is Caslew. [1]And it came to pass in the fourthH702 yearH8141 of kingH4428 DariusH1867, that the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto ZechariahH2148 in the fourthH702 day of the ninthH8671 monthH2320, even in ChisleuH3691;
[2]And Sarasar, and Rogumelech, and men that weren with hem, senten to the hous of the Lord, for to preye the face of the Lord; [2]When they had sentH7971[H8799] unto the houseH1004 of GodH410 SherezerH8272 and RegemmelechH7278, and their menH582, to prayH2470[H8763] beforeH6440 the LORDH3068,
[3]that thei schulden seie to prestis of the hous of the Lord of oostis, and to profetis, and speke, Whether it is to wepe to me in the fyuethe monethe, ether Y schal halowe me, as Y dide now many yeeris? [3]And to speakH559[H8800] unto the priestsH3548 which were in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, and to the prophetsH5030, sayingH559[H8800], Should I weepH1058[H8799] in the fifthH2549 monthH2320, separatingH5144[H8736] myself, as I have doneH6213[H8804] these so many yearsH8141?
[4]And the word of the Lord was maad to me, [4]Then came the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 unto me, sayingH559,[H8800]
[5]and seide, Speke thou to al the puple of the lond, and to prestis, and seie thou, Whanne ye fastiden, and weiliden in the fyueth and seuenthe monethe, bi these seuenti yeeris, whether ye fastiden a fast to me? [5]SpeakH559[H8798] unto all the peopleH5971 of the landH776, and to the priestsH3548, sayingH559[H8800], When ye fastedH6684[H8804] and mournedH5594[H8800] in the fifthH2549 and seventhH7637 month, even those seventyH7657 yearsH8141, did ye at allH6684[H8800] fastH6684 unto me, even to meH8804?
[6]And whanne ye eeten, and drunken, whether ye eten not to you, and drunken not to you silf? [6]And when ye did eatH398[H8799], and when ye did drinkH8354[H8799], did not ye eatH398[H8802] for yourselves, and drinkH8354 for yourselvesH8802?
[7]Whether wordis of profetis ben not, whiche the Lord spak in the hond of the formere profetis, whanne yit Jerusalem was enhabited, and was ful of richessis, and it, and citees therof in cumpas therof, and at the south and in feeldi place was enhabited? [7]Should ye not hear the wordsH1697 which the LORDH3068 hath criedH7121[H8804] byH3027 the formerH7223 prophetsH5030, when JerusalemH3389 was inhabitedH3427[H8802] and in prosperityH7961, and the citiesH5892 thereof round about herH5439, when men inhabitedH3427[H8802] the southH5045 and the plainH8219?
[8]And the word of the Lord was maad to Sacarie, and seide, The Lord of oostis saith these thingis, and spekith, [8]And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came unto ZechariahH2148, sayingH559,[H8800]
[9]Deme ye trewe dom, and do ye merci, and doyngis of merci, ech man with his brother. [9]Thus speakethH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, sayingH559[H8800], ExecuteH8199[H8798] trueH571 judgmentH4941, and shewH6213[H8798] mercyH2617 and compassionsH7356 every manH376 to his brotherH251:
[10]And nyle ye falsli calenge a widewe, and fadirles, ether modirles, and comelyng, and pore man; and a man thenke not in his herte yuel to his brother. [10]And oppressH6231[H8799] not the widowH490, nor the fatherlessH3490, the strangerH1616, nor the poorH6041; and let none of you imagineH2803[H8799] evilH7451 againstH376 his brotherH251 in your heartH3824.
[11]And thei wolden not `take heede, and thei turneden awei the schuldre, and yeden awei, and `maden heuy her eeris, lest thei herden. [11]But they refusedH3985[H8762] to hearkenH7181[H8687], and pulled awayH5414[H8799][H5637][H8802] the shoulderH3802, and stoppedH3513[H8689] their earsH241, that they should not hearH8085.[H8800]
[12]And thei puttiden her herte as adamaunt, lest thei herden the lawe, and wordis whiche the Lord of oostis sente in his Spirit, bi the hond of the formere profetis; and greet indignacioun was maad of the Lord of oostis. [12]Yea, they madeH7760[H8804] their heartsH3820 as an adamant stoneH8068, lest they should hearH8085[H8800] the lawH8451, and the wordsH1697 which the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 hath sentH7971[H8804] in his spiritH7307 byH3027 the formerH7223 prophetsH5030: therefore came a greatH1419 wrathH7110 from the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.
[13]And it is doon, as he spak; and as thei herden not, so thei schulen crie, and Y schal not here, seith the Lord of oostis. [13]Therefore it is come to pass, that as he criedH7121[H8804], and they would not hearH8085[H8804]; so they criedH7121[H8799], and I would not hearH8085[H8799], saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635:
[14]And Y scateride hem bi alle rewmes, whiche thei knewen not, and the lond is desolat fro hem; for that there was not a man goynge and turnynge ayen, and thei han put desirable lond in to desert. [14]But I scattered them with a whirlwindH5590[H8762] among all the nationsH1471 whom they knewH3045[H8804] not. Thus the landH776 was desolateH8074[H8738] afterH310 them, that no man passed throughH5674[H8802] nor returnedH7725[H8802]: for they laidH7760[H8799] the pleasantH2532 landH776 desolateH8047.
