[1]וַיִּוָּעַ֣ץ דָּוִ֗יד עִם־שָׂרֵ֧י הָאֲלָפִ֛ים וְהַמֵּאֹ֖ות לְכָל־נָגִֽיד׃ |
| [2]And DavidH1732 saidH559[H8799] unto all the congregationH6951 of IsraelH3478, If it seem goodH2895[H8804] unto you, and that it be of the LORDH3068 our GodH430, let us sendH7971[H8799] abroadH6555[H8799] unto our brethrenH251 every where, that are leftH7604[H8737] in all the landH776 of IsraelH3478, and with them also to the priestsH3548 and LevitesH3881 which are in their citiesH5892 and suburbsH4054, that they may gatherH6908 themselves unto usH8735: |
[2]וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜יד לְכֹ֣ל ׀ קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם טֹ֜וב וּמִן־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ נִפְרְצָה֙ נִשְׁלְחָ֞ה עַל־אַחֵ֣ינוּ הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֗ים בְּכֹל֙ אַרְצֹ֣ות יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעִמָּהֶ֛ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֖ם בְּעָרֵ֣י מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם וְיִקָּבְצ֖וּ אֵלֵֽינוּ׃ |
| [3]And let us bring againH5437[H8686] the arkH727 of our GodH430 to us: for we enquiredH1875[H8804] not at it in the daysH3117 of SaulH7586. |
[3]וְנָסֵ֛בָּה אֶת־אֲרֹ֥ון אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ אֵלֵ֑ינוּ כִּי־לֹ֥א דְרַשְׁנֻ֖הוּ בִּימֵ֥י שָׁאֽוּל׃ |
| [4]And all the congregationH6951 saidH559[H8799] that they would do soH6213[H8800]: for the thingH1697 was rightH3474[H8804] in the eyesH5869 of all the peopleH5971. |
[4]וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ כָֽל־הַקָּהָ֖ל לַעֲשֹׂ֣ות כֵּ֑ן כִּֽי־יָשַׁ֥ר הַדָּבָ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֥י כָל־הָעָֽם׃ |
| [5]So DavidH1732 gatheredH6950 all IsraelH3478 togetherH6950[H8686], from ShihorH7883 of EgyptH4714 even unto the enteringH935[H8800] of HemathH2574, to bringH935[H8687] the arkH727 of GodH430 from KirjathjearimH7157. |
[5]וַיַּקְהֵ֤ל דָּוִיד֙ אֶת־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִן־שִׁיחֹ֥ור מִצְרַ֖יִם וְעַד־לְבֹ֣וא חֲמָ֑ת לְהָבִיא֙ אֶת־אֲרֹ֣ון הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים מִקִּרְיַ֖ת יְעָרִֽים׃ |
| [6]And DavidH1732 went upH5927[H8799], and all IsraelH3478, to BaalahH1173, that is, to KirjathjearimH7157, which belonged to JudahH3063, to bring upH5927[H8687] thence the arkH727 of GodH430 the LORDH3068, that dwellethH3427[H8802] between the cherubimsH3742, whose nameH8034 is calledH7121 on itH8738. |
[6]וַיַּ֨עַל דָּוִ֤יד וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בַּעֲלָ֔תָה אֶל־קִרְיַ֥ת יְעָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִיהוּדָ֑ה לְהַעֲלֹ֣ות מִשָּׁ֗ם אֵת֩ אֲרֹ֨ון הָאֱלֹהִ֧ים ׀ יְהוָ֛ה יֹושֵׁ֥ב הַכְּרוּבִ֖ים אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שֵֽׁם׃ |
| [7]And they carriedH7392[H8686] the arkH727 of GodH430 in a newH2319 cartH5699 out of the houseH1004 of AbinadabH41: and UzzaH5798 and AhioH283 draveH5090[H8802] the cartH5699. |
[7]וַיַּרְכִּ֜יבוּ אֶת־אֲרֹ֤ון הָאֱלֹהִים֙ עַל־עֲגָלָ֣ה חֲדָשָׁ֔ה מִבֵּ֖ית אֲבִינָדָ֑ב וְעֻזָּ֣א וְאַחְיֹ֔ו נֹהֲגִ֖ים בָּעֲגָלָֽה׃ |
| [8]And DavidH1732 and all IsraelH3478 playedH7832[H8764] beforeH6440 GodH430 with all their mightH5797, and with singingH7892, and with harpsH3658, and with psalteriesH5035, and with timbrelsH8596, and with cymbalsH4700, and with trumpetsH2689. |
[8]וְדָוִ֣יד וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מְשַׂחֲקִ֛ים לִפְנֵ֥י הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּכָל־עֹ֑ז וּבְשִׁירִ֤ים וּבְכִנֹּרֹות֙ וּבִנְבָלִ֣ים וּבְתֻפִּ֔ים וּבִמְצִלְתַּ֖יִם וּבַחֲצֹצְרֹֽות׃ |
| [9]And when they cameH935[H8799] unto the threshingfloorH1637 of ChidonH3592, UzzaH5798 put forthH7971[H8799] his handH3027 to holdH270[H8800] the arkH727; for the oxenH1241 stumbledH8058.[H8804] |
[9]וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ עַד־גֹּ֣רֶן כִּידֹ֑ן וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח עֻזָּ֜א אֶת־יָדֹ֗ו לֶאֱחֹז֙ אֶת־הָ֣אָרֹ֔ון כִּ֥י שָֽׁמְט֖וּ הַבָּקָֽר׃ |
| [10]And the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734[H8799] against UzzaH5798, and he smoteH5221[H8686] him, because he putH7971[H8804] his handH3027 to the arkH727: and there he diedH4191[H8799] beforeH6440 GodH430. |
[10]וַיִּֽחַר־אַ֤ף יְהוָה֙ בְּעֻזָּ֔א וַיַּכֵּ֕הוּ עַ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֥ח יָדֹ֖ו עַל־הָאָרֹ֑ון וַיָּ֥מָת שָׁ֖ם לִפְנֵ֥י אֱלֹהִֽים׃ |
| [11]And DavidH1732 was displeasedH2734[H8799], because the LORDH3068 had madeH6555[H8804] a breachH6556 upon UzzaH5798: wherefore that placeH4725 is calledH7121[H8799] PerezuzzaH6560 to this dayH3117. |
[11]וַיִּ֣חַר לְדָוִ֔יד כִּֽי־פָרַ֧ץ יְהוָ֛ה פֶּ֖רֶץ בְּעֻזָּ֑א וַיִּקְרָ֞א לַמָּקֹ֤ום הַהוּא֙ פֶּ֣רֶץ עֻזָּ֔א עַ֖ד הַיֹּ֥ום הַזֶּֽה׃ |
| [12]And DavidH1732 was afraidH3372[H8799] of GodH430 that dayH3117, sayingH559[H8800], HowH1963 shall I bringH935[H8686] the arkH727 of God home to meH430? |
[12]וַיִּירָ֤א דָוִיד֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּיֹּ֥ום הַה֖וּא לֵאמֹ֑ר הֵ֚יךְ אָבִ֣יא אֵלַ֔י אֵ֖ת אֲרֹ֥ון הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ |
| [13]So DavidH1732 broughtH5493[H8689] not the arkH727 home to himself to the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, but carried it asideH5186[H8686] into the houseH1004 of ObededomH5654 the GittiteH1663. |
[13]וְלֹֽא־הֵסִ֨יר דָּוִ֧יד אֶת־הָאָרֹ֛ון אֵלָ֖יו אֶל־עִ֣יר דָּוִ֑יד וַיַּטֵּ֕הוּ אֶל־בֵּ֥ית עֹבֵֽד־אֱדֹ֖ם הַגִּתִּֽי׃ |
| [14]And the arkH727 of GodH430 remainedH3427[H8799] with the familyH1004 of ObededomH5654 in his houseH1004 threeH7969 monthsH2320. And the LORDH3068 blessedH1288[H8762] the houseH1004 of Obededom, and all that he hadH5654. |
[14]וַיֵּשֶׁב֩ אֲרֹ֨ון הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים עִם־בֵּ֨ית עֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹ֛ם בְּבֵיתֹ֖ו שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֑ים וַיְבָ֧רֶךְ יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־בֵּ֥ית עֹבֵֽד־אֱדֹ֖ם וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־לֹֽו׃ |
