| [1]An elder not rebuke but petition him as a father and to those who are young as your brothers |
[1]An elder do not reprimand, but persuade him as a father, and those who are young as thy brethren, |
| [2]And elder women as mothers and those who are younger as your sisters in all purity |
[2]And the elderly women as mothers, and those who are young as thy sisters, with all purity. |
| [3]Widows you honor those who widows are indeed |
[3]The widows honour them who are widows in truth. |
| [4]And if there is a widow who has to her children or children of children let them learn first that with children of their households they should be assigned and they should pay compensation to their parents this for is acceptable before Alaha |
[4]And if there be a widow who hath children, or children's children, let them learn first to do justly for their families, and to repay the debts [owing] to their parents; for this is acceptable before Aloha. |
| [5]She but who truly a widow is and alone this one her hope upon Alaha is and continues in prayer and in supplication by night and by day |
[5]But she who is truly a widow and solitary [is one] whose hope is in Aloha, and who persevereth in prayer and in supplication by night and by day. |
| [6]She but who worships the Arena dead is while she lives |
[6]But she who serveth pleasure is dead while she liveth. |
| [7]These things you shall command them that without fault they may be |
[7]These things prescribe to them, that they be without blame. |
| [8]If a man for of those that his are and especially those who are children of the household of faith not takes care of this one has renounced to himself the faith and worse is than those who not are believers |
[8]For if a man hath not care of them who are his own, and especially of them who are children of the household of faith, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than those who believe not. |
| [9]You shall therefore choose a widow who is not less than sixty years who one the same husband had |
[9]Elect, then, the widow who is not less than sixty years, who hath had one husband, |
| [10]And is to her a testimony of works good if she has raised children if she has received strangers if she has washed the feet of the saints if she has relieved the afflicted if she has walked in every work good |
[10]And who hath the testimony of good works: if she have brought up children, if she have received guests, if she have washed the feet of the saints, if she have cheered the afflicted, if she have walked in every gracious work. |
| [11]From widows but those who are younger avoid separate these for from The Messiah and seek to have a husband |
[11]But from the widows who are young, withhold [the election]; for these become schismaticalⓘ against the Meshiha, and seek to marry, |
| [12]And their judgment set is for they have rejected their faith former |
[12]And their condemnation is confirmed, because they have rejected their first fidelity. |
| [13]They learn but also laziness while going around house to house and not only laziness but also to increase talking and to take up vanities and to talk whatever not is appropriate |
[13]They also learn idleness, wandering from house to house; and not only idleness, but also to multiply words, and to follow vain [pursuits], and to speak things which they ought not. |
| [14]Willing I am therefore that those younger ones may marry and bear children and lead their homes and not give to enemies not even one occasion of abuse |
[14]I will therefore that those who are young should marry, and bear children, and conduct their households, and not give to the adversary any occasion to revile. |
| [15]Until now for they have begun one [by] one to turn after Satan |
[15]For already have some begun to turn aside after Satana. |
| [16]If man believers or female believers have to them widows let them support them and not let them burden on the church that for those who widows are truly it may have enough |
[16]If any believing man or believing woman have widows, let them support them, that they may not be burden-some on the church, that they who are widows indeed may have sufficient. |
| [17]Elders those that well are leading honor double deserve especially those who toil in the word and in teaching |
[17]Those presbyters who well conduct themselvesⓘ shall be worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and in doctrine. |
| [18]Say for the scriptures "not muzzle the ox while treading and deserves the laborer his wages |
[18]For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox in the treading out; and, Worthy is the labourer of his hire. |
| [19]Against an elder an accusation not accept but upon the mouth of two or three witnesses |
[19]Against a presbyter an accusation receive not, except on the mouth of two or three witnesses. |
| [20]Those who sin before every person rebuke that also the rest of the people may fear |
[20]Those who sin before all men reprove, that the rest may be afraid. |
| [21]Testify I to you before Alaha and our Lord Ieshu The Messiah and His angels the chosen that these things you will observe and not let be prejudiced your mind for anything and not do anything by accepting of persons |
[21]I attest thee before Aloha and our Lord Jeshu Meshiha and his elect angels, that thou keep these, [precepts,] and let not thy mind be pre-occupied by any thing, and do nothing with acceptance of persons. |
| [22]Hands quickly on a man not lay and not share in the sins of strangers yourself keep in purity |
[22]The hand suddenly on any man lay not, neither participate in others' sins. Keep thyself in purity. |
| [23]And from now on water not drink but wine a little do drink because of your stomach and because of your illness chronic |
[23]And henceforth water drink not, but wine a little drink, on account of thy stomach, and on account of thy constant infirmities. |
| [24]There are children of men whose sins known are and they precede them to the house of judgment and are which after them go |
[24]THERE are men whose sins are known, and they precede them to the place of judgment; and there are whose [sins] go after them. |
| [25]In this way also works good known are and those that otherwise are be concealed not they can |
[25]So also good men are known; and those who are otherwise cannot be hid. |
