[1]ܘܐܸܬ̣ܵܐ ܪܚܸܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܠܐܘܿܪܸܫܠܸܡ. ܘܟܲܢܸܫ̣ ܠܲܕ݂ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܝܼܗܘܼܕ݂ܵܐ: ܘܲܠܫܲܒ̣ܛܵܐ ܕܒܸܢܝܵܡܹܝܢ: ܡܵܐܐ ܘܲܬ̣ܡܵܢܐܝܼܢ ܐܲܠܦ̈ܝܼܢ: ܓܲܒ̣ܪܹ̈ܐ ܫܵܡܛܲܝ̈ ܣܲܝܦܵܐ: ܘܥܵܒ̣ܕܲܝ̈ ܩܪܵܒ̣ܵܐ: ܠܡܸܬ̣ܟܲܬܵܫܘܼ ܥܲܡ ܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ: ܠܡܲܗܦܵܟ݂ܘܼ ܡܲܠܟ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܠܲܪܚܸܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܒܪܹܗ ܕܲܫܠܹܝܡܘܿܢ. [1]And when Rehoboam was come to Hierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iuda and Beniamin, nine score thousand chosen men of warre, to fight against Israel, & to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam
[2]ܘܲܗܘ̤ܵܐ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܐ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܫܡܲܥܝܵܐ: ܘܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܹܗ. [2]And the worde of the Lorde came to Semiahu the man of God, saying
[3]ܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܲܪܚܸܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܒܪܹܗ ܕܲܫܠܹܝܡܘܿܢ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ ܕܲܝܗܘܼܕ݂ܵܐ: ܘܥܲܠ ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܒܸܢܝܵܡܹܝܢ: ܘܥܲܠ ܟܠܹܗ ܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ: ܘܥܲܠ ܟܠܹܗ ܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ: ܘܥܲܠ ܫܲܪܟܵܐ ܕܥܲܡܵܐ: ܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܗܘܿܢ. [3]Speake vnto Rehoboam the sonne of Solomon king of Iuda, & to all them of Israel that are in Iuda and Beniamin, and say
[4]ܗܵܟܲܢܵܐ ܐܵܡܲܪ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܠܵܐ ܬܸܣܩܘܼܢ: ܘܠܵܐ ܬܸܬ̣ܟܲܬ̇ܫܘܼܢ. ܗܦܘܿܟ݂ܘ ܓܒܲܪ ܠܒܲܝܬܹ̇ܗ. ܡܸܛܠ ܕܡ̣ܢ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܲܝ ܗܘ̤ܵܐ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ. ܘܲܫܡܲܥ̣ܘ ܡܸܠܬܹܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܘܲܗܦܲܟ݂ܘ ܠܡܹܐܙܲܠ ܐ̄ܢܵܫ ܠܒܲܝܬܹ̇ܗ. [4]Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go vp nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house, for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the wordes of the Lorde, and returned from going against Ieroboam
[5]ܘܲܒ̣ܢܵܐ ܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܠܲܫܟܹܝܡ: ܒܛܘܼܪܵܐ ܕܫܲܒ̣ܛܵܐ ܕܒܹܝܬ̣ ܐܲܦܪܹܝܡ: ܘܝܼܬܸܒ̣ ܒܵܗ̇. ܘܲܢܦܲܩ̣ ܡ̣ܢ ܬܲܡܵܢ: ܘܲܒ̣ܢܵܐ ܠܲܦܢܘܼܐܹܝܠ. [5]And Rehoboam dwelt in Hierusalem, and built strong cities in Iuda
[6]ܘܐܸܡܲܪ ܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܒܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ: ܗܵܦܟܵܐ ܠܵܗ̇ ܡܲܠܟ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܠܒܹܝܬ̣ ܕܵܘܝܼܕ݂. [6]He built vp Bethlehem, & Etam, and Thekoa
[7]ܐܸܢܗ̤ܘ ܕܣܵܠ̇ܩܝܼܢ ܥܲܡܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ: ܠܡܸܥܒܲܕ݂ ܕܸܒ̣ܚܹ̈ܐ ܒܒܲܝܬܹ̇ܗ ܕܡܵܪܝܵܐ: ܒܐܘܿܪܸܫܠܸܡ ܘܗܵܦܸܟ݂ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ ܕܥܲܡܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ ܠܘܵܬ̣ ܡܵܪܗܘܿܢ. ܘܩܵܛ̇ܠܝܼܢ ܠܝܼ: ܘܡܲܗ̄ܦܟ݂ܝܼܢ ܠܵܗ̇ ܡܲܠܟ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܠܲܪܚܸܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܒܲܪ ܫܠܹܝܡܘܿܢ. [7]Bethzur, Socho, and Adullam
[8]ܘܐܸܬ̣ܪܲܥܝܼ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ: ܘܲܥܒܲܕ݂ ܬܪܹܝܢ ܥܸܓ̣̈ܠܝܼܢ ܕܕܲܗܒ̣ܵܐ. ܘܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܗܘܿܢ: ܣܲܓ̇ܝܼ ܠܟ݂ܘܿܢ ܠܡܸܣܲܩ: ܡܵܢܵܐ ܣܵܠܩܝܼܢ ܐܢ̄ܬ̇ܘܿܢ: ܘܢܵܚܬ̇ܝܼܢ ܠܐܘܿܪܸܫܠܸܡ. ܗܵܠܹܝܢ ܐܸܢܘܿܢ ܐܲܠܵܗܲܝ̈ܟ ܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ: ܕܐܲܣܩܘܼܟ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܡܸܨܪܹܝܢ. [8]Gath, and Maresa, and Ziph
[9]ܘܣܵܡ̣ ܚܲܕ݂ ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܐܹܝܠ: ܘܐ̄ܚܪܹܢܵܐ ܣܵܡ̣ ܒܕ݂ܵܢ. [9]Adurahim, Lachis, and Azecah
[10]ܘܲܗܘ̤ܵܬ̣ ܡܸܠܬ̣ܵܐ ܗܵܕܹܐ ܠܲܚܛܝܼܬ̣ܵܐ. ܘܐܸܙܲܠ̣ܘ ܥܲܡܵܐ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܥܸܓܠܵܐ ܥܕܲܡܵܐ ܠܕ݂ܵܢ. ܘܲܗܘ̤ܵܐ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ ܠܲܚܛܝܼܬ̣ܵܐ: ܠܟ݂ܠ ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ: ܠܡܸܥܩܲܪ ܘܲܠܡܵܘܒܵܕ݂ܘܼ ܡ̣ܢ ܐܲܪܥܵܐ. [10]Zoraa, Aialon, and Hebron, which is in Iuda and Beniamin, strong cities
[11]ܒܹܗ ܒܙܲܒ̣ܢܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ: ܐܸܬ̣ܟ̇ܪܲܗ ܐܲܒ̣ܝܲܡ ܒܪܹܗ ܕܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ: ܘܐܸܡܲܪ ܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܠܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬܹܗ: ܩܘܼܡܝ ܢܹܐ ܘܐܸܫܬܲܓ̣ܢܵܝ ܐܲܝܟ݂ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬ̣ܵܐ ܗܸܕ݂ܝܘܿܛܬܵܐ. ܘܠܵܐ ܢܸܕ̇ܥܘܼܢ ܕܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܝ ܗ̄ܝܼ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬܹܗ ܕܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ. ܘܬܹܐܙܠ̄ܝܼܢ ܠܫܝܼܠܘܿ. ܘܗܵܐ ܐܝܼܬ̣ ܬܲܡܵܢ ܐܲܚܝܼܵܐ ܢܒ̣ܝܼܵܐ: ܕܗ̤ܘ ܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܝܼ ܟܲܕ݂ ܩܵܐܹ̇ܡ ܗ̄ܘܹ̇ܝܬ̣ ܥܲܠ ܥܲܡܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ. [11]And he repaired the strong holdes, and put captaynes in them, and store of vittaile, and wine, and oyle
[12]ܘܬܹܐܙܠ̄ܝܼܢ ܠܘܵܬܹܗ: ܓܵܠܹ̇ܐ ܠܹܟ݂ܝ ܡܸܕܸ̇ܡ ܕܗܵܘܹ̇ܐ ܠܹܗ ܠܛܲܠܝܵܐ ܗܵܢܵܐ. [12]And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, & made them exceeding strong, hauing Iuda and Beniamin on his syde
[13]ܘܡ̣ܢ ܩܕ݂ܵܡ ܡܵܪܝܵܐ ܐܸܬ̣̱ܐܡܲܪ ܠܐܲܚܝܼܵܐ: ܕܗܵܐ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬܹܗ ܕܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܐܵܬ̣ܝܵܐ ܠܡܸܫܐܲܠ ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܐ ܡܸܢܵܟ݂ ܥܲܠ ܒܪܵܗ̇ ܕܲܟ݂ܪܝܼܗ ܗ̄ܘ̣: ܗܵܟܲܢܵܐ ܘܗܵܟܲܢܵܐ ܬܹܐܡܲܪ ܠܵܗ̇. ܘܢܸܗܘܹܐ ܒܡܲܥܠܵܗ̇: ܘܗ̤ܝ ܡܸܫܬܲܓ̣ܢܝܵܐ. [13]And the priestes and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted to him out of all their coastes
[14]ܘܲܗܘ̤ܵܐ ܕܟܲܕ݂ ܫܡܲܥ̣ ܐܲܚܝܼܵܐ ܩܵܠܵܐ ܕܪܸ̈ܓ̣ܠܹܝܗ̇ ܟܲܕ݂ ܥܵܐܠܵܐ ܒܬܲܪܥܵܐ: ܘܐܸܡܲܪ ܠܵܗ̇:ܥܘܿܠܝ ܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ܬܹܗ ܕܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ ܠܡܵܢܵܐ ܡܸܫܬ̇ܓ̣ܢܝܲܬ̇ܝ. ܘܐܸܢܵܐ ܡܫܲܕܲܪ ܐ̄ܢܵܐ ܕܐܹܡܲܪ ܥܠܲܝܟ̇ܝ ܡܸܠܹ̈ܐ ܩܲܫ̈ܝܵܬ̣ܵܐ. [14]For the Leuites left their suburbes, and their possession, and came to Iuda and Hierusalem: For Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring vnto the Lorde
[15]ܙܸܠܝ ܐܸܡܲܪܝ ܠܝܘܿܪܲܒ̣ܥܲܡ: ܗܵܟܲܢܵܐ ܐܵܡܲܪ ܡܵܪܹܐ ܡܵܪ̈ܵܘܵܬ̣ܵܐ ܕܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ: ܐܸܢܵܐ ܐܲܪܝܼܡܬܵܟ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܥܲܡܵܐ: ܘܝܲܗ̄ܒ̣ܬܵܟ݂ ܡܲܠܟܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܥܲܡܝ ܝܼܣܪܵܝܹܠ. [15]And he ordayned him priestes for the high places, for the deuils, and for the calues which he had made
[16]ܘܲܢܣܲܒ̣ܬܵܗ̇ ܡܲܠܟ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܐ ܡ̣ܢ ܒܹܝܬ̣ ܕܵܘܝܼܕ݂: ܘܝܸܗ̄ܒܹ̇ܬ̣ ܠܵܟ݂. ܘܠܵܐ ܗ̤ܘܲܝܬ̇ ܐܲܝܟ݂ ܕܵܘܝܼܕ݂ ܥܲܒ̣ܕ̇ܝܼ: ܕܲܢܛܲܪ ܦܘܼܩ̈ܕܵܢܲܝ: ܘܗܲܠܸܟ݂ ܒܢܵܡܘܿܣܲܝ̈ ܒܟ݂ܠܹܗ ܠܸܒܹ̇ܗ: ܠܡܸܥܒܲܕ݂ ܕܫܲܦܝܼܪ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܲܝ. [16]And after the Leuites, there went out all the tribes of Israel, such as submitted their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, and came to Hierusalem to offer vnto the Lorde God of their fathers
[17]ܘܐܲܢ̄ܬ̇ ܐܲܒ̣ܐܸܫܬ̇ ܠܡܸܥܒܲܕ݂ ܡ̣ܢ ܟܠ ܡܲܠ̈ܟܹ̇ܐ ܕܲܗܘ̤ܵܘ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܲܝܟ. ܘܐܸܙܲܠܬ̇ ܥܒܲܕ̇ܬ̇ ܠܵܟ݂ ܦܬܲܟ݂ܪܹ̈ܐ ܕܥܲܡܡܹ̈ܐ: ܘܨܲܠܡܹ̈ܐ ܠܲܡܓܲܕܵܦܘܼ ܩܕ݂ܵܡܲܝ. ܘܕܸܚܠܲܬ̣ܝ ܫܕܲܝܬ̇ ܒܸܣܬܲܪ ܨܵܘܪܵܟ݂. [17]And so they strengthed the kingdome of Iuda, & made Rehoboam the sonne of Solomon mightie three yeres long: for three yeres they walked in the way of Dauid and Solomon
18[No verse] [18]And Rehoboam toke him Mahalath the daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wyfe, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Isai
19[No verse] [19]Which bare him children, Ieus, Samaria, and Zaham
20[No verse] [20]And after her he toke Maacha the daughter of Absolon, which bare him Abia, Atthai, Ziza, and Selomith
21[No verse] [21]And Rehoboam loued Maacha the daughter of Absolo aboue al his wyues and concubines: for he toke eyghteene wyues and threescore concubines, and begat twentie and eyght sonnes & threescore daughters
22[No verse] [22]And Rehoboam made Abia the sonne of Maacha, the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king
23[No verse] [23]And he played wyselie, and scattered all his children throughout al the countryes of Iuda and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie, and he gaue them aboundaunce of vittaile, and obtayned many wyues
