[1]After this also came the children of Moab and the children of Ammon, and with them of the Ammonites against Jehoshaphat to battle. |
| [2]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P καίC ὑποδεικνύωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-DSM *ιωσαφατN--DSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM ἥκωV1-PAI3S ἐπίP σύRP-AS πλῆθοςN3E-NSN πολύςA1P-NSN ἐκP πέρανD ὁRA-GSF θάλασσαN1S-GSF ἀπόP *συρίαN1A-GSF καίC ἰδούI εἰμίV9-PAI3P ἐνP *ασασανθαμαρN--DS οὗτοςRD-NSF εἰμίV9-PAI3S *ενγαδδιN--NSF |
[2]Then there came that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea, out of Aram [Syria]: and behold, they be in Hazazon Tamar, which is En-gedi. |
| [3]καίC φοβέωVCI-API3S καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S *ιωσαφατN--NSM ὁRA-ASN πρόσωπονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκζητέωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM καίC κηρύσσωVAI-AAI3S νηστείαN1A-ASF ἐνP πᾶςA3-DSM *ἰουδάN--DSM |
[3]And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. |
| [4]καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3S *ἰούδαςN1T-NSM ἐκζητέωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM καίC ἀπόP πᾶςA1S-GPF ὁRA-GPF πόλιςN3I-GPF *ἰουδάN--GSM ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ζητέωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM |
[4]And Judah gathered themselves together to ask counsel of the Lord: they came even out of all the cities of Judah to inquire of the Lord, |
| [5]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *ιωσαφατN--NSM ἐνP ἐκκλησίαN1A-DSF *ἰουδάN--GSM ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF ἐνP οἶκοςN2-DSM κύριοςN2-GSM κατάP πρόσωπονN2N-ASN ὁRA-GSF αὐλήN1-GSF ὁRA-GSF καινόςA1-GSF |
[5]And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem in the house of the Lord before the new court, |
| [6]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-VSM ὁRA-VSM θεόςN2-VSM ὁRA-GPM πατήρN3-GPM ἐγώRP-GP οὐD σύRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI2S θεόςN2-NSM ἐνP οὐρανόςN2-DSM καίC σύRP-NS κυριεύωV1-PAI2S πᾶςA1S-GPF ὁRA-GPF βασιλείαN1A-GPF ὁRA-GPN ἔθνοςN3E-GPN καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSF χείρN3-DSF σύRP-GS ἰσχύςN3-NSF δυναστείαN1A-GSF καίC οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S πρόςP σύRP-AS ἀντιἵστημιVH-AAN |
[6]And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? And reignest not thou on all the kingdoms of the heathen? And in thine hand is power and might, and none is able to withstand thee. |
| [7]οὐD σύRP-NS εἰμίV9-PAI2S ὁRA-NSM κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM ἐκὀλεθρεύωVA-AAPNSM ὁRA-APM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPAPM ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF οὗτοςRD-ASF ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM σύRP-GS *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI2S αὐτόςRD-ASF σπέρμαN3M-DSN *ἀβραάμN--GSM ὁRA-DSM ἀγαπάωVM-XMPDSM σύRP-GS εἰςP ὁRA-ASM αἰώνN3W-ASM |
[7]Didst not thou our God cast out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend forever? |
| [8]καίC καταοἰκέωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF καίC οἰκοδομέωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF ἁγίασμαN3M-ASN ὁRA-DSN ὄνομαN3M-DSN σύRP-GS λέγωV1-PAPNPM |
[8]And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, |
| [9]ἐάνC ἐπιἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AP κακόςA1-NPN ῥομφαίαN1A-NSF κρίσιςN3I-NSF θάνατοςN2-NSM λιμόςN2-NSM ἵστημιVF-FMI1P ἐναντίονP ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM οὗτοςRD-GSM καίC ἐναντίονP σύRP-GS ὅτιC ὁRA-NSN ὄνομαN3M-NSN σύRP-GS ἐπίP ὁRA-DSM οἶκοςN2-DSM οὗτοςRD-DSM καίC βοάωVF-FMI1P πρόςP σύRP-AS ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF θλῖψιςN3I-GSF καίC ἀκούωVF-FAI2S καίC σώζωVF-FAI2S |
[9]If evil come upon us, as the sword of judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we will stand before this house and in thy presence (for thy name is in this house) and will cry unto thee in our tribulation, and thou wilt hear and help. |
| [10]καίC νῦνD ἰδούI υἱόςN2-NPM *αμμωνN--GSM καίC *μωαβN--GSM καίC ὄροςN3E-NSN *σηιρN--NS εἰςP ὅςRR-APM οὐD δίδωμιVAI-AAI2S ὁRA-DSM *ἰσραήλN--DSM διαἔρχομαιVB-AAN διάP αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAPGPM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐκP γῆN1-GSF *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF ὅτιC ἐκκλίνωVAI-AAI3P ἀπόP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC οὐD ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM |
[10]And now behold, the children of Ammon and Moab, and mount Seir, by whom thou wouldest not let Israel go, when they came out of the land of Egypt: but they turned aside from them, and destroyed them not: |
| [11]καίC νῦνD ἰδούI αὐτόςRD-NPM ἐπιχειρέωV2-PAI3P ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AP ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN ἐκβάλλωVF2-FAN ἐγώRP-AP ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF κληρονομίαN1A-GSF ἐγώRP-GP ὅςRR-GSF δίδωμιVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-DP |
[11]Behold, I say, they reward us, in coming to cast us out of thine inheritance, which thou hast caused us to inherit. |

[12]O our God, wilt thou not judge them? For there is no strength in us to stand before this great multitude that cometh against us, neither do we know what to do: but our eyes are toward thee. |
| [13]καίC πᾶςA3-NSM *ἰούδαςN1T-NSM ἵστημιVXI-XAPNSM ἔναντιP κύριοςN2-GSM καίC ὁRA-NPN παιδιάN1A-NPN αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ὁRA-NPF γυνήN3K-NPF |
[13]And all Judah stood before the Lord with their young ones, their wives, and their children. |
| [14]καίC ὁRA-DSM *οζιηλN--DSM ὁRA-DSM ὁRA-GSM *ζαχαριαςN1T-GSM ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *βαναιαςN1T-GSM ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ελεηλN--GSM ὁRA-GSM *μανθανιαςN1T-GSM ὁRA-GSM *λευείτηςN1M-GSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ασαφN--GSM γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-ASM πνεῦμαN3M-NSN κύριοςN2-GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἐκκλησίαN1A-DSF |
[14]And Jahaziel the son of Zechariah the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph was there, upon whom came the Spirit of the Lord, in the midst of the congregation. |
| [15]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἀκούωVA-AAD2P πᾶςA3-NSM *ἰουδάN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NPM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPNPM *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF καίC ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ιωσαφατN--NSM ὅδεRD-APN λέγωV1-PAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM σύRP-DP αὐτόςRD-DPM μήD φοβέωV2-PMI2P μηδέC πτοέωVC-APS2P ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN ὁRA-GSM ὄχλοςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSM πολύςA1-GSM οὗτοςRD-GSM ὅτιC οὐD σύRP-DP εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-NSF παράταξιςN3I-NSF ἀλλάC ἤC ὁRA-DSM θεόςN2-DSM |
[15]And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou, king Jehoshaphat: thus saith the Lord unto you, Fear you not, neither be afraid for this great multitude: for the battle is not yours, but God's. |
| [16]αὔριονD καταβαίνωVD-APD2P ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ἰδούI ἀναβαίνωV1-PAI3P κατάP ὁRA-ASF ἀνάβασιςN3I-ASF *ασαςN--ASF καίC εὑρίσκωVF-FAI2P αὐτόςRD-APM ἐπίP ἄκροςA1A-GSM ποταμόςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSF ἐρῆμοςN2-GSF *ιεριηλN--GSF |
[16]Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cleft of Ziz, and ye shall find them at the end of the brook before the wilderness of Jeruel. |
| [17]οὐD σύRP-DP εἰμίV9-PAI3S πολεμέωVA-AAN οὗτοςRD-APN συνἵημιVH-AAD2P καίC ὁράωVB-AAD2P ὁRA-ASF σωτηρίαN1A-ASF κύριοςN2-GSM μετάP σύRP-GP *ἰουδάN--VSM καίC *ἰερουσαλήμN--VSF μήD φοβέωV2-PMI2P μηδέC πτοέωVC-APS2P αὔριονD ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN εἰςP ἀπάντησιςN3I-ASF αὐτόςRD-DPM καίC κύριοςN2-NSM μετάP σύRP-GP |
[17]Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: stand still, move not, and behold the salvation of the Lord towards you: O Judah, and Jerusalem, fear ye not, neither be afraid: tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you. |
| [18]καίC κύπτωVA-AAPNSM *ιωσαφατN--NSM ἐπίP πρόσωπονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC πᾶςA3-NSM *ἰουδάN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NPM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPNPM *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF πίπτωVAI-AAI3P ἔναντιP κύριοςN2-GSM προςκυνέωVA-AAN κύριοςN2-DSM |
[18]Then Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the earth, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord, worshiping the Lord. |
| [19]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM *λευείτηςN1M-NPM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *κααθN--GSM καίC ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *κορεN--GSM αἰνέωV2-PAN κύριοςN2-DSM θεόςN2-DSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ἐνP φωνήN1-DSF μέγαςA1-DSF εἰςP ὕψοςN3E-ASN |
[19]And the Levites of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high. |
| [20]καίC ὀρθρίζωVAI-AAI3P πρωίD καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ἐρῆμοςN2-ASF *θεκωεN--GS καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN ἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *ιωσαφατN--NSM καίC βοάωVAI-AAI3S καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἀκούωVA-AAD2P ἐγώRP-GS *ἰουδάN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NPM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPNPM ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF ἐνπιστεύωVA-AAD2P ἐνP κύριοςN2-DSM θεόςN2-DSM σύRP-GP καίC ἐνπιστεύωVC-FPI2P ἐνπιστεύωVA-AAD2P ἐνP προφήτηςN1M-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εὐοδόωVC-FPI2P |
[20]And when they arose early in the morning, they went forth to the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they departed, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear ye me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: put your trust in the Lord your God, and ye shall be assured: believe his prophets, and ye shall prosper. |
| [21]καίC βουλεύωVAI-AMI3S μετάP ὁRA-GSM λαόςN2-GSM καίC ἵστημιVAI-AAI3S ψαλτῳδόςA1B-APM καίC αἰνέωV2-PAPAPM ἐκὁμολογέωV2-PMN καίC αἰνέωV2-PAN ὁRA-APN ἅγιοςA1A-APN ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAN ἔμπροσθενP ὁRA-GSF δύναμιςN3I-GSF καίC λέγωV1I-IAI3P ἐκὁμολογέωV2-PMI2P ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM ὅτιC εἰςP ὁRA-ASM αἰώνN3W-ASM ὁRA-NSN ἔλεοςN3E-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[21]And when he had consulted with the people, and appointed singers unto the Lord, and them that should praise him that is in the beautiful sanctuary, in going forth before the men of arms, and saying, Praise ye the Lord, for his mercy lasteth forever, |
| [22]καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ἄρχωVA-AMN ὁRA-GSF αἴνεσιςN3I-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ὁRA-GSF ἐξομολόγησιςN3I-GSF δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM πολεμέωV2-PAN ὁRA-APM υἱόςN2-APM *αμμωνN--GSM ἐπίP *μωαβN--ASM καίC ὄροςN3E-ASN *σηιρN--ASN ὁRA-APM ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAPAPM ἐπίP *ἰούδαςN1T-ASM καίC τροπόωVCI-API3P |
[22]And when they began to shout, and to praise, the Lord laid ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah, and they slew one another. |
| [23]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *αμμωνN--GSM καίC *μωαβN--GSM ἐπίP ὁRA-APM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPAPM ὄροςN3E-ASN *σηιρN--ASN ἐκὀλεθρεύωVA-AAN καίC ἐκτρίβωVA-AAN καίC ὡςC συντελέωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-APM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPAPM *σηιρN--GSN ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3P εἰςP ἀλλήλωRD-APM ὁRA-GSN ἐκὀλεθρεύωVC-APN |
[23]For the children of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of mount Seir, to slay and to destroy them and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. |
| [24]καίC *ἰούδαςN1T-NSM ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF σκοπιάN1A-ASF ὁRA-GSF ἐρῆμοςN2-GSF καίC ἐπιβλέπωVAI-AAI3S καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN πλῆθοςN3E-ASN καίC ἰδούI πᾶςA3-NPM νεκρόςN2-NPM πίπτωVX-XAPNPM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF οὐD εἰμίV9-IAI3S σώζωV1-PMPNSM |
[24]And when Judah came toward Mizpah in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude: and behold, the carcasses were fallen to the earth, and none escaped. |
| [25]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *ιωσαφατN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM σκυλεύωVA-AAN ὁRA-APN σκῦλονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC εὑρίσκωVB-AAI3P κτῆνοςN3E-APN πολύςA1-APN καίC ἀποσκευήN1-ASF καίC σκῦλονN2N-APN καίC σκεῦοςN3E-APN ἐπιθυμητόςA1-APN καίC σκυλεύωVAI-AAI3P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3P ἡμέραN1A-NPF τρεῖςN3-NPF σκυλεύωV1-PAPGPM αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-APN σκῦλονN2N-APN ὅτιC πολύςA1-APN εἰμίV9-IAI3S |
[25]And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both of substance and also of bodies laden with precious jewels, which they took for themselves, till they could carry no more: they were three days in gathering of the spoil: for it was much. |
| [26]καίC ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF τέταρτοςA1-DSF ἐπι συνἄγωVQI-API3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASM αὐλώνN3-ASM ὁRA-GSF εὐλογίαN1A-GSF ἐκεῖD γάρX εὐλογέωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM διάP οὗτοςRD-ASN καλέωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSM τόποςN2-GSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-GSM *κοιλάςN--NS εὐλογίαN1A-GSF ἕωςP ὁRA-GSF ἡμέραN1A-GSF οὗτοςRD-GSF |
[26]And in the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah: for there they blessed the Lord: therefore they called the name of that place, The valley of Berachah unto this day. |
| [27]καίC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-NSM ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰουδάN--GSM εἰςP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF καίC *ιωσαφατN--NSM ἡγέομαιV2-PMPNSM αὐτόςRD-GPM ἐνP εὐφροσύνηN1-DSF μέγαςA1-DSF ὅτιC εὐφραίνωVA-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM κύριοςN2-NSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM ἐχθρόςA1A-GPM αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[27]Then every man of Judah and Jerusalem returned with Jehoshaphat their head, to go again to Jerusalem with joy: for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies. |
| [28]καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP *ἰερουσαλήμN--ASF ἐνP νάβλαN1A-DPF καίC ἐνP κινύραN1A-DPF καίC ἐνP σάλπιγξN3G-DPF εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM κύριοςN2-GSM |
[28]And they came to Jerusalem with viols and with harps, and with trumpets, even unto the house of the Lord. |
| [29]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἔκστασιςN3I-NSF κύριοςN2-GSM ἐπίP πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF βασιλείαN1A-APF ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ἀκούωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-APM ὅτιC πολεμέωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM πρόςP ὁRA-APM ὑπεναντίοςA1A-APM *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[29]And the fear of God was upon all the kingdoms of the earth, when they had heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. |
| [30]καίC εἰρηνεύωVA-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF βασιλείαN1A-NSF *ιωσαφατN--NSM καίC καταπαύωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM κυκλόθενP |
[30]So the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was quiet, and his God gave him rest on every side. |

[31]And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah, and was five and thirty year old, when he began to reign: and reigned five and twenty year in Jerusalem, and his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi. |

[32]And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not there from, doing that which was right in the sight of the Lord. |
