[1]Jehoshaphat then slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead. |

[2]And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah. All these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. |
[3]καίC δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM αὐτόςRD-GPM δόμαN3M-APN πολύςA1-APN ἀργύριονN2N-ASN καίC χρυσίονN2N-ASN καίC ὅπλονN2N-APN μετάP πόλιςN3I-GPF τειχίζωVT-XMPGPF ἐνP *ἰουδάN--DSM καίC ὁRA-ASF βασιλείαN1A-ASF δίδωμιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *ιωραμN--DSM ὅτιC οὗτοςRD-NSM ὁRA-NSM πρωτότοκοςA1B-NSM |
[3]And their father gave them great gifts of silver and of gold, and of precious things, with strong cities in Judah, but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram: for he was the eldest. |
[4]καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *ιωραμN--NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF βασιλείαN1A-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC κραταιόωVCI-API3S καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S πᾶςA3-APM ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐνP ῥομφαίαN1A-DSF καίC ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM ἄρχωνN3-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[4]And Jehoram rose up upon the kingdom of his father, and made himself strong, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and also of the princes of Israel. |
[5]εἰμίV9-PAPGSM αὐτόςRD-GSM τριάκονταM καίC δύοM ἔτοςN3E-GPN καταἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *ιωραμN--NSM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF βασιλείαN1A-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὀκτώM ἔτοςN3E-APN βασιλεύωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF |
[5]Jehoram was two and thirty year old, when he began to reign, and he reigned eight year in Jerusalem. |
[6]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S ἐνP ὁδόςN2-DSF βασιλεύςN3V-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὡςD ποιέωVAI-AAI3S οἶκοςN2-NSM *αχααβN--GSM ὅτιC θυγάτηρN3-NSF *αχααβN--GSM εἰμίV9-IAI3S αὐτόςRD-GSM γυνήN3K-NSF καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN πονηρόςA1A-ASN ἐναντίονP κύριοςN2-GSM |
[6]And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as the house of Ahab had done: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife, and he wrought evil in the eyes of the Lord. |
[7]καίC οὐD βούλομαιV1I-IMI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἐκὀλεθρεύωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM *δαυίδN--GSM διάP ὁRA-ASF διαθήκηN1-ASF ὅςRR-ASF διατίθημιVEI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSM *δαυίδN--DSM καίC ὡςC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM δίδωμιVO-AAN αὐτόςRD-DSM λύχνοςN2-ASM καίC ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM αὐτόςRD-GSM πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF ἡμέραN1A-APF |
[7]Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and because he had promised to give a light to him, and to his sons forever. |
[8]ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἡμέραN1A-DPF ἐκεῖνοςRD-DPF ἀποἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *εδωμN--NS ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM *ἰουδάN--GSM καίC βασιλεύωVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP ἑαυτοῦRD-APM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM |
[8]In his days Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over them. |
[9]καίC οἴχομαιV1I-IMI3S *ιωραμN--NSM μετάP ὁRA-GPM ἄρχωνN3-GPM καίC πᾶςA1S-NSF ὁRA-NSF ἵπποςN2-NSF μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S καίC ἐγείρωVCI-API3S νύξN3-GSF καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S *εδωμN--NSM ὁRA-ASM κυκλόωV4-PAPASM αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC ὁRA-APM ἄρχωνN3-APM ὁRA-GPN ἅρμαN3M-GPN καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM εἰςP ὁRA-APN σκήνωμαN3M-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[9]And Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote Edom, which had compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots. |
[10]καίC ἀποἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ἀπόP *ἰουδάN--GSM *εδωμN--NS ἕωςC ὁRA-GSF ἡμέραN1A-GSF οὗτοςRD-GSF τότεD ἀποἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *λομναN--NSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM καιρόςN2-DSM ἐκεῖνοςRD-DSM ἀπόP χείρN3-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC ἐν καταλείπωVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-ASM θεόςN2-ASM ὁRA-GPM πατήρN3-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[10]But Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then did Libnah rebel at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken the Lord God of his fathers. |
[11]καίC γάρX αὐτόςRD-NSM ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὑψηλόςA1-APN ἐνP πόλιςN3I-DPF *ἰουδάN--GSM καίC ἐκπορνεύωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPAPM ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF καίC ἀποπλανάωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM *ἰούδαςN1T-ASM |
[11]Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto. |
[12]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM γράφωVCI-API3S παράP *ηλιουN--GSM ὁRA-GSM προφήτηςN1M-GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM ὅδεRD-APN λέγωV1-PAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM *δαυίδN--GSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM σύRP-GS ἀντίP ὅςRR-GPM οὐD πορεύομαιVCI-API2S ἐνP ὁδόςN2-DSF *ιωσαφατN--GSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM σύRP-GS καίC ἐνP ὁδόςN2-DPF *ασαN--GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *ἰουδάN--GSM |
[12]And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, |

[13]But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, as the house of Ahab went a whoring, and hast also slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thou, |
[14]ἰδούI κύριοςN2-NSM πατάσσωVF-FAI3S σύRP-AS πληγήN1-ASF μέγαςA1-ASF ἐνP ὁRA-DSM λαόςN2-DSM σύRP-GS καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DPM υἱόςN2-DPM σύRP-GS καίC ἐνP γυνήN3K-DPF σύRP-GS καίC ἐνP πᾶςA1S-DSF ὁRA-DSF ἀποσκευήN1-DSF σύRP-GS |
[14]Behold, with a great plague will the Lord smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy substance, |
[15]καίC σύRP-NS ἐνP μαλακίαN1A-DSF πονηρόςA1A-DSF ἐνP νόσοςN2-DSF κοιλίαN1A-GSF ἕωςC ὅςRR-GSM ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S ὁRA-NSF κοιλίαN1A-NSF σύRP-GS μετάP ὁRA-GSF μαλακίαN1A-GSF ἐκP ἡμέραN1A-GPF εἰςP ἡμέραN1A-APF |
[15]And thou shalt be in great diseases in the disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out for the disease, day by day. |
[16]καίC ἐπιἀγείρωV1I-IAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ἐπίP *ιωραμN--ASM ὁRA-APM ἀλλόφυλοςA1B-APM καίC ὁRA-APM *ἄραψN--APM καίC ὁRA-APM ὅμοροςA1B-APM ὁRA-GPF *αἰθίοψN3P-GPF |
[16]So the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and the Arabians that were beside the Ethiopians. |
[17]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ἐπίP *ἰούδαςN1T-ASM καίC καταδυναστεύωV1I-IAI3P καίC ἀποστρέφωVAI-AAI3P πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF ἀποσκευήN1-ASF ὅςRR-ASF εὑρίσκωVB-AAI3P ἐνP οἶκοςN2-DSM ὁRA-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM καίC ὁRA-APM υἱόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-APF θυγάτηρN3-APF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC οὐD καταλείπωVVI-API3S αὐτόςRD-DSM υἱόςN2-NSM ἀλλάC ἤC *οχοζιαςN1T-NSM ὁRA-NSM μικρόςA1A-NSMS ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[17]And they came up into Judah, and break into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives, so that there was not a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons. |
[18]καίC μετάP οὗτοςRD-APN πᾶςA3-APN πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM κύριοςN2-NSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF κοιλίαN1A-ASF μαλακίαN1A-DSF ἐνP ὅςRR-DSF οὐD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ἰατρείαN1A-NSF |
[18]And after all this, the Lord smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. |
[19]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ἐκP ἡμέραN1A-GPF εἰςP ἡμέραN1A-APF καίC ὡςC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S καιρόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GPF ἡμέραN1A-GPF ἡμέραN1A-APF δύοM ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF κοιλίαN1A-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM μετάP ὁRA-GSF νόσοςN2-GSF καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S ἐνP μαλακίαN1A-DSF πονηρόςA1A-DSF καίC οὐD ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκφοράN1A-ASF καθώςD ἐκφοράN1A-ASF πατήρN3-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[19]And in process of time, even after the end of two years, his guts fell out with his disease: so he died of sore diseases: and his people made no burning for him like the burning of his fathers. |
[20]εἰμίV9-IAI3S τριάκονταM καίC δύοM ἔτοςN3E-GPN ὅτεD βασιλεύωVAI-AAI3S καίC ὀκτώM ἔτοςN3E-APN βασιλεύωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP *ἰερουσαλήμN--DSF καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S ἐνP οὐD ἔπαινοςN2-DSM καίC θάπτωVDI-API3S ἐνP πόλιςN3I-DSF *δαυίδN--GSM καίC οὐD ἐνP τάφοςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPM βασιλεύςN3V-GPM |
[20]When he began to reign, he was two and thirty year old, and reigned in Jerusalem eight year, and lived without being desired: yet they buried him in the city of David, but not among the sepulchres of the kings. |
