[1]ἐν ἔτει δευτέρῳ τῷ ιωας υἱῷ ιωαχας βασιλεῖ ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν αμεσσιας υἱὸς ιωας βασιλεὺς ιουδα	[1]The second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
[2]υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν ἦν ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴκοσι καὶ ἐννέα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ ιωαδιν ἐξ ιερουσαλημ	[2]He was five and twenty year old when he began to reign, and reigned nine and twenty year in Jerusalem, and his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
[3]καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου πλὴν οὐχ ὡς δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν ιωας ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἐποίησεν	[3]And he did uprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like David his father, but did according to all that Joash his father had done.
[4]πλὴν τὰ ὑψηλὰ οὐκ ἐξῆρεν ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς	[4]Notwithstanding the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burned incense in the high places.
[5]καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε κατίσχυσεν ἡ βασιλεία ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ τοὺς πατάξαντας τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ	[5]And when the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, he slew his servants which had killed the king his father.
[6]καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν παταξάντων οὐκ ἐθανάτωσεν καθὼς γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίῳ νόμων μωυσῆ ὡς ἐνετείλατο κύριος λέγων οὐκ ἀποθανοῦνται πατέρες ὑπὲρ υἱῶν καὶ υἱοὶ οὐκ ἀποθανοῦνται ὑπὲρ πατέρων ὅτι ἀλλ ἢ ἕκαστος ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται	[6]But the children of those that did slay him, he slew not, according unto that that is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
[7]αὐτὸς ἐπάταξεν τὸν εδωμ ἐν γαιμελε δέκα χιλιάδας καὶ συνέλαβε τὴν πέτραν ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς καθοηλ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης	[7]He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took the city of Sela by war, and called the name thereof Joktheel unto this day.
[8]τότε ἀπέστειλεν αμεσσιας ἀγγέλους πρὸς ιωας υἱὸν ιωαχας υἱοῦ ιου βασιλέως ισραηλ λέγων δεῦρο ὀφθῶμεν προσώποις	[8]Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu king of Israel, saying, Come, let us see one another in the face.
[9]καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ιωας βασιλεὺς ισραηλ πρὸς αμεσσιαν βασιλέα ιουδα λέγων ὁ ακαν ὁ ἐν τῷ λιβάνῳ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὴν κέδρον τὴν ἐν τῷ λιβάνῳ λέγων δὸς τὴν θυγατέρα σου τῷ υἱῷ μου εἰς γυναῖκα καὶ διῆλθον τὰ θηρία τοῦ ἀγροῦ τὰ ἐν τῷ λιβάνῳ καὶ συνεπάτησαν τὸν ακανα	[9]Then Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and the wild beast that was in Lebanon, went and trod down the thistle.
[10]τύπτων ἐπάταξας τὴν ιδουμαίαν καὶ ἐπῆρέν σε ἡ καρδία σου ἐνδοξάσθητι καθήμενος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ σου καὶ ἵνα τί ἐρίζεις ἐν κακίᾳ σου καὶ πεσῇ σὺ καὶ ιουδας μετὰ σοῦ	[10]Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: brag of glory, and tarry at home. why dost thou provoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Judah with thee?
[11]καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν αμεσσιας καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς ισραηλ καὶ ὤφθησαν προσώποις αὐτὸς καὶ αμεσσιας βασιλεὺς ιουδα ἐν βαιθσαμυς τῇ τοῦ ιουδα	[11]But Amaziah would not hear: therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up: and he and Amaziah king of Judah saw one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Judah.
[12]καὶ ἔπταισεν ιουδας ἀπὸ προσώπου ισραηλ καὶ ἔφυγεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ	[12]And Judah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fled every man to their tents.
[13]καὶ τὸν αμεσσιαν υἱὸν ιωας υἱοῦ οχοζιου βασιλέα ιουδα συνέλαβεν ιωας υἱὸς ιωαχας βασιλεὺς ισραηλ ἐν βαιθσαμυς καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς ιερουσαλημ καὶ καθεῖλεν ἐν τῷ τείχει ιερουσαλημ ἐν τῇ πύλῃ εφραιμ ἕως πύλης τῆς γωνίας τετρακοσίους πήχεις	[13]But Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and break down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
[14]καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ εὑρεθέντα ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἐν θησαυροῖς οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν συμμίξεων καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς σαμάρειαν	[14]And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king's house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.
[15]καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων ιωας ὅσα ἐποίησεν ἐν δυναστείᾳ αὐτοῦ ἃ ἐπολέμησεν μετὰ αμεσσιου βασιλέως ιουδα οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ισραηλ	[15]Concerning the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did and his valiant deeds, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[16]καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ιωας μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν σαμαρείᾳ μετὰ τῶν βασιλέων ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ αὐτοῦ	[16]And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the kings of Israel: and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
[17]καὶ ἔζησεν αμεσσιας υἱὸς ιωας βασιλεὺς ιουδα μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν ιωας υἱὸν ιωαχας βασιλέα ισραηλ πεντεκαίδεκα ἔτη	[17]And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen year.
[18]καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων αμεσσιου καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ιουδα	[18]Concerning the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
[19]καὶ συνεστράφησαν ἐπ αὐτὸν σύστρεμμα ἐν ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔφυγεν εἰς λαχις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ εἰς λαχις καὶ ἐθανάτωσαν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ	[19]But they wrought treason against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
[20]καὶ ἦραν αὐτὸν ἐφ ἵππων καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν ιερουσαλημ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει δαυιδ	[20]And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
[21]καὶ ἔλαβεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ιουδα τὸν αζαριαν καὶ αὐτὸς υἱὸς ἑκκαίδεκα ἐτῶν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν αὐτὸν ἀντὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ αμεσσιου	[21]Then all the people of Judah took Azariah which was sixteen year old, and made him king for his father Amaziah.
[22]αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν αιλωθ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτὴν τῷ ιουδα μετὰ τὸ κοιμηθῆναι τὸν βασιλέα μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ	[22]He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
[23]ἐν ἔτει πεντεκαιδεκάτῳ τοῦ αμεσσιου υἱοῦ ιωας βασιλέως ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς ιωας ἐπὶ ισραηλ ἐν σαμαρείᾳ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ἓν ἔτος	[23]In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, was Jeroboam the son of Joash made king over Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and forty year.
[24]καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ πασῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν ισραηλ	[24]And he did evil in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin.
[25]αὐτὸς ἀπέστησεν τὸ ὅριον ισραηλ ἀπὸ εἰσόδου αιμαθ ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς αραβα κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου θεοῦ ισραηλ ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ δούλου αὐτοῦ ιωνα υἱοῦ αμαθι τοῦ προφήτου τοῦ ἐκ γεθχοβερ	[25]He restored the coast of Israel, from the entering of Hamath, unto the sea of the wilderness, according to the word of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai the prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
[26]ὅτι εἶδεν κύριος τὴν ταπείνωσιν ισραηλ πικρὰν σφόδρα καὶ ὀλιγοστοὺς συνεχομένους καὶ ἐσπανισμένους καὶ ἐγκαταλελειμμένους καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ βοηθῶν τῷ ισραηλ	[26]For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shut up, nor any left, neither yet any that could help Israel.
[27]καὶ οὐκ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐξαλεῖψαι τὸ σπέρμα ισραηλ ὑποκάτωθεν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς διὰ χειρὸς ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ ιωας	[27]Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from under the heaven: therefore he preserved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
[28]καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων ιεροβοαμ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν καὶ αἱ δυναστεῖαι αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐπολέμησεν καὶ ὅσα ἐπέστρεψεν τὴν δαμασκὸν καὶ τὴν αιμαθ τῷ ιουδα ἐν ισραηλ οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν ισραηλ	[28]Concerning the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deeds, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Judah in Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
[29]καὶ ἐκοιμήθη ιεροβοαμ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ μετὰ βασιλέων ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν αζαριας υἱὸς αμεσσιου ἀντὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ	[29]So Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel, and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.
