[1]AND the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, Behold now, this place wherein we dwell with you is too small for us. |
[2]πορεύομαιVC-APS1P δήX ἕωςP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM καίC λαμβάνωVB-AAS1P ἐκεῖθενD ἀνήρN3-NSM εἷςA3-NSM δοκόςN2-ASF εἷςA1A-ASF καίC ποιέωVA-AAS1P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM ἐκεῖD ὁRA-GSN οἰκέωV2-PAN ἐκεῖD καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S δεῦτεD |
[2]Let us go to the Jordan and cut from there every man a beam, and let us make a place for us to dwell there. And he said, Go. |
[3]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM εἷςA3-NSM ἐπιεικῶςD δεῦροD μετάP ὁRA-GPM δοῦλοςN2-GPM σύRP-GS καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἐγώRP-NS πορεύομαιVF-FMI1S |
[3]And one of them answered and said, If you please, go with your servants. And he answered, I will go. |
[4]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S μετάP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-ASM καίC τέμνωV1I-IAI3P ὁRA-APN ξύλονN2N-APN |
[4]So he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. |
[5]καίC ἰδούI ὁRA-NSM εἷςA3-NSM καταβάλλωV1-PAPNSM ὁRA-ASF δοκόςN2-ASF καίC ὁRA-ASN σιδήριονN2N-ASN ἐκπίπτωVAI-AAI3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASN ὕδωρN3-ASN καίC βοάωVAI-AAI3S ὦI κύριοςN2-VSM καίC αὐτόςRD-ASN χράομαιVM-XMPASN |
[5]But as one of them was felling a beam, the axehead fell into the water; and he cried and said, I beseech you, my lord! it was borrowed by your servant. |
[6]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM ἄνθρωποςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM θεόςN2-GSM ποῦD πίπτωVAI-AAI3S καίC δεικνύωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-ASM τόποςN2-ASM καίC ἀποκνίζωVAI-AAI3S ξύλονN2N-ASN καίC ῥίπτωVAI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD καίC ἐπιπολάζωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN σιδήριονN2N-ASN |
[6]And the prophet of God said to him, Where did it fall? And he showed him the place. And he cut off a stick and thrust it in there; and it stuck in the hole of the axehead. |
[7]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὑψόωVA-AAD2S σεαυτοῦRD-DSM καίC ἐκτείνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF χείρN3-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASN |
[7]And he said, Take it up to you. And he put out his hand and took it |
[8]καίC βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *συρίαN1A-GSF εἰμίV9-IAI3S πολεμέωV2-PAPNSM ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM καίC βουλεύωVAI-AMI3S πρόςP ὁRA-APM παῖςN3D-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASM τόποςN2-ASM ὅδεRD-ASM τιςRI-ASM ελμωνιN--ASM παρα ἐνβάλλωVF2-FAI1S |
[8]Then the king of Aram warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall we lie in wait. |
[9]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S *ελισαιεN--NSM πρόςP ὁRA-ASM βασιλεύςN3V-ASM *ἰσραήλN--GSM λέγωV1-PAPNSM φυλάσσωVA-AMD2S μήD παραἔρχομαιVB-AAN ἐνP ὁRA-DSM τόποςN2-DSM οὗτοςRD-DSM ὅτιC ἐκεῖD *συρίαN1A-NSF κρύπτωVP-XMI3S |
[9]And the prophet of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, Beware that you do not pass this place; for the Arameans are lying in wait. |
[10]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASM τόποςN2-ASM ὅςRR-ASM εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM *ελισαιεN--NSM καίC φυλάσσωVAI-AMI3S ἐκεῖθενD οὐD εἷςA1A-ASF οὐδέC δύοM |
[10]And the king of Israel sent to the place of which the prophet of God told him and warned him about it, not once nor twice. |
[11]καίC ἐκκινέωVCI-API3S ὁRA-NSF ψυχήN1-NSF βασιλεύςN3V-GSM *συρίαN1A-GSF περίP ὁRA-GSM λόγοςN2-GSM οὗτοςRD-GSM καίC καλέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM παῖςN3D-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM οὐD ἀναἀγγέλλωVF2-FAI2P ἐγώRP-DS τίςRI-NSM προδίδωμιV8-PAI3S ἐγώRP-AS βασιλεύςN3V-DSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[11]Therefore the heart of the king of Aram was sore troubled because of this thing; and he called his servants and said to them, Will you not show me who of us is for the king of Israel? |
[12]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S εἷςA3-NSM ὁRA-GPM παῖςN3D-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM οὐD κύριοςN2-VSM ἐγώRP-GS βασιλεύςN3V-VSM ὅτιC *ελισαιεN--NSM ὁRA-NSM προφήτηςN1M-NSM ὁRA-NSM ἐνP *ἰσραήλN--DSM ἀναἀγγέλλωV1-PAI3S ὁRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM πᾶςA3-APM ὁRA-APM λόγοςN2-APM ὅςRR-APM ἐάνC λαλέωVA-AAS2S ἐνP ὁRA-DSN ταμιεῖονN2N-DSN ὁRA-GSM κοιτώνN3W-GSM σύRP-GS |
[12]And one of his servants answered, and said, None of us, my lord 0 king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the thing that you plan in your bedchamber |
[13]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S δεῦτεD ὁράωVB-AAD2P ποῦD οὗτοςRD-NSM καίC ἀποστέλλωVA-AAPNSM λαμβάνωVF-FMI1S αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC ἀναἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-DSM λέγωV1-PAPNPM ἰδούI ἐνP *δωθαϊμN--DS |
[13]And he said, Go and see where he is, that I may send and take him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. |
[14]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD ἵπποςN2-ASM καίC ἅρμαN3M-ASN καίC δύναμιςN3I-ASF βαρύςA3U-ASF καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P νύξN3-GSF καίC περικυκλόωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF |
[14]Therefore he sent there horsemen and chariots and a great army; and they came by night and surrounded the city. |
[15]καίC ὀρθρίζωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λειτουργόςN2-NSM *ελισαιεN--GSM ἀναἵστημιVH-AAN καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S καίC ἰδούI δύναμιςN3I-NSF κυκλόωV4-PAPNSF ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF καίC ἵπποςN2-NSM καίC ἅρμαN3M-NSN καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSN παιδάριονN2N-NSN πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM ὦI κύριοςN2-VSM πῶςD ποιέωVA-AAS1P |
[15]And when the servant of the prophet of God arose early and went out, behold, an army surrounded the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master! what shall we do? |
[16]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ελισαιεN--NSM μήD φοβέωV2-PMD2S ὅτιC πολύςA3C-NPM ὁRA-NPM μετάP ἐγώRP-GP ὑπέρP ὁRA-APM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[16]And he said to him, Fear not; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. |
[17]καίC προςεὔχομαιVA-AMI3S *ελισαιεN--NSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-VSM δια ἀναοἴγωVA-AAD2S ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM ὁRA-GSN παιδάριονN2N-GSN καίC ὁράωVB-AAD3S καίC δια ἀναοἴγωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S καίC ἰδούI ὁRA-ASN ὄροςN3E-ASN πλήρηςA3H-ASN ἵπποςN2-GPM καίC ἅρμαN3M-ASN πῦρN3-GSN περικύκλῳD *ελισαιεN--GSM |
[17]And Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, O LORD, open his eyes that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. |
[18]καίC καταβαίνωVZI-AAI3P πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC προςεὔχομαιVAI-AMI3S *ελισαιεN--NSM πρόςP κύριοςN2-ASM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πατάσσωVA-AAD2S δήX οὗτοςRD-ASN ὁRA-ASN ἔθνοςN3E-ASN ἀορασίαN1A-DSF καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM ἀορασίαN1A-DSF κατάP ὁRA-ASN ῥῆμαN3M-ASN *ελισαιεN--GSM |
[18]And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, Smite this people with dimness of vision. And he smote them with dimness according to the word of Elisha. |
[19]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM *ελισαιεN--NSM οὐD οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF πόλιςN3I-NSF καίC οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF ὁδόςN2-NSF δεῦτεD ὀπίσωP ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἀποἄγωVF-FAI1S σύRP-AP πρόςP ὁRA-ASM ἀνήρN3-ASM ὅςRR-ASM ζητέωV2-PAI2P καίC ἀποἄγωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM εἰςP *σαμαρείαN1A-ASF |
[19]And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city; follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. But he led them to Samaria. |
[20]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὡςC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP *σαμαρείαN1A-ASF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ελισαιεN--NSM ἀναοἴγωVA-AAD2S δήX κύριοςN2-VSM ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ὁράωVB-AAD3P καίC δια ἀναοἴγωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-APM ὀφθαλμόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3P καίC ἰδούI εἰμίV9-IAI3P ἐνP μέσοςA1-DSM *σαμαρείαN1A-GSF |
[20]And when they were come into Samaria, Elisha said, O LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria. |
[21]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὡςC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM εἰC πατάσσωVA-AAPNSM πατάσσωVF-FAI1S πατήρN3-VSM |
[21]And the king of Israel said to Elisha when he saw them, My father, shall I slay them? Shall I slay them? |
[22]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S οὐD πατάσσωVF-FAI2S εἰC μήD ὅςRR-APM αἰχμαλωτεύωVAI-AAI2S ἐνP ῥομφαίαN1A-DSF σύRP-GS καίC τόξονN2N-DSN σύRP-GS σύRP-NS τύπτωV1-PAI2S παρατίθημιVE-AAD2S ἄρτοςN2-APM καίC ὕδωρN3-ASN ἐνώπιονP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἐσθίωVB-AAD3P καίC πίνωVB-AAD3P καίC ἀποἔρχομαιVB-AAD3P πρόςP ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[22]And he answered, You shall not slay them; would you slay those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master. |
[23]καίC παρατίθημιVHI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM παράθεσιςN3I-ASF μέγαςA1-ASF καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI3P καίC πίνωVBI-AAI3P καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM καίC ἀποἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P πρόςP ὁRA-ASM κύριοςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC οὐD προςτίθημιVEI-AMI3P ἔτιD μονόζωνοςN2-NPM *συρίαN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSN ἔρχομαιVB-AAN εἰςP γῆN1-ASF *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[23]So he prepared for them a great banquet; and when they had eaten and drunk, they went to their master. So the raiders of Aram came no more across the border of Israel |
[24]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S μετάP οὗτοςRD-APN καίC ἀθροίζωVAI-AAI3S υἱόςN2-NSM *αδερN--GSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *συρίαN1A-GSF πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF παρεμβολήN1-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S καίC περι καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S *σαμαρείαN1A-ASF |
[24]land it came to pass after this, that Bar-hadad king of Aram gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria and fought against it. |
[25]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S λιμόςN2-NSM μέγαςA1P-NSM ἐνP *σαμαρείαN1A-DSF καίC ἰδούI περι καταἧμαιV5I-IMI3P ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-ASF ἕωςP ὅςRR-GSM γίγνομαιVCI-API3S κεφαλήN1-NSF ὄνοςN2-GSM πεντήκονταM σίκλοςN2-GPM ἀργύριονN2N-GSN καίC τέταρτοςA1-ASM ὁRA-GSM κάβοςN2-GSM κόπροςN2-GSF περιστεράN1A-GPF πέντεM σίκλοςN2-GPM ἀργύριονN2N-GSN |
[25]And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for eighty pieces of silver and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver. |
[26]καίC εἰμίV9-IAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM διαπορεύομαιV1-PMPNSM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN καίC γυνήN3K-NSF βοάωVAI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM λέγωV1-PAPNSF σώζωVA-AAD2S κύριοςN2-VSM βασιλεύςN3V-VSM |
[26]And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman to him, saying, Help me, my lord, O king. |
[27]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSF μήD σύRP-AS σώζωVA-AAN κύριοςN2-NSM πόθενD σώζωVF-FAI1S σύRP-AS μήD ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF ἅλωνN3W-GSF ἤC ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF ληνόςN2-GSF |
[27]And he said to her, Let the LORD help you; whence shall I help you? Out of the threshing floor or out of the wine press? |
[28]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSF ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM τίςRI-ASN εἰμίV9-PAI3S σύRP-DS καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF γυνήN3K-NSF οὗτοςRD-NSF εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP ἐγώRP-AS δίδωμιVO-AAD2S ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM σύRP-GS καίC ἐσθίωVF-FMI1P αὐτόςRD-ASM σήμερονD καίC ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐσθίωVF-FMI1P αὐτόςRD-ASM αὔριονD |
[28]And the king said to her, What troubles you? And she said to him, This woman said to me, Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. |
[29]καίC ἕψωVAI-AAI1P ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI1P αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI1S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASF ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF ὁRA-DSF δεύτεροςA1A-DSF δίδωμιVO-AAD2S ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM σύRP-GS καίC ἐσθίωVB-AAS1P αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC κρύπτωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM υἱόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSF |
[29]So we cooked my son and ate him; and I said to her on the next day, Give your son, that we may eat him; but she had hidden her son. |
[30]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὡςC ἀκούωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὁRA-APM λόγοςN2-APM ὁRA-GSF γυνήN3K-GSF διαῥήγνυμιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APN ἱμάτιονN2N-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSM διαπορεύομαιV1I-IMI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-GSN τεῖχοςN3E-GSN καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASM σάκκοςN2-ASM ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF σάρξN3K-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἔσωθενD |
[30]And when the king heard the words of the woman, he tore his clothes as he walked upon the wall, and the people looked, and behold, he was wearing sackcloth within upon his flesh. |
[31]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὅδεRD-APN ποιέωVA-AAN ἐγώRP-DS ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM καίC ὅδεRD-APN προςτίθημιVE-AAO3S εἰC ἵστημιVF-FMI3S ὁRA-NSF κεφαλήN1-NSF *ελισαιεN--GSM ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-DSM σήμερονD |
[31]Then he said, May God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall remain on him this day. |
[32]καίC *ελισαιεN--NSM καταἧμαιV1I-IMI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSM οἶκοςN2-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ὁRA-NPM πρεσβύτεροςN2-NPM καταἧμαιV1I-IMI3P μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ἀνήρN3-ASM πρόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN αὐτόςRD-GSM πρίνD ἔρχομαιVB-AAN ὁRA-ASM ἄγγελοςN2-ASM πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSM εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP ὁRA-APM πρεσβύτεροςN2-APM εἰC οἶδαVX-XAI2P ὅτιC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GSM φονευτήςN1M-GSM οὗτοςRD-NSM ἀποαἱρέωVF2-FAN ὁRA-ASF κεφαλήN1-ASF ἐγώRP-GS ὁράωVB-AAD2P ὡςD ἄνX ἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S ὁRA-NSM ἄγγελοςN2-NSM ἀποκλείωVA-AAD2P ὁRA-ASF θύραN1A-ASF καίC παραθλίβωVA-AAD2P αὐτόςRD-ASM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF θύραN1A-DSF οὐD φωνήN1-NSF ὁRA-GPM πούςN3D-GPM ὁRA-GSM κύριοςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM κατόπισθενD αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[32]But Elisha was sitting in his house and the elders were sitting with him; and the king sent a messenger; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and push him outside, because the sound of his master's feet is behind him. |
[33]ἔτιD αὐτόςRD-GSM λαλέωV2-PAPGSM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἰδούI ἄγγελοςN2-NSM καταβαίνωVZI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἰδούI οὗτοςRD-NSF ὁRA-NSF κακίαN1A-NSF παράP κύριοςN2-GSM τίςRI-ASN ὑπομένωVA-AAS1S ὁRA-DSM κύριοςN2-DSM ἔτιD |
[33]And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came to him; and he said, Behold, this evil is from the LORD; why should I pray to the LORD any longer |
