| [1]There were also in the Church that was at Antiochia, certain Prophets and teachers, as Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen (which had been brought up with Herod the Tetrarch) and Saul. |
[1]אית הוא דינ בעדתא דאנטיכיא נביא ומלפנא ברנבא ושׁמעונ דמתקרא ניגר ולוקיס דמנ קורינא מדינתא ומנאיל בר מרבינוהי דהרודס טטררכא ושׁאול |
| [2]Now as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul, for the work whereunto I have called them. |
[2]וכד הנונ צימינ הוו ומתכשׁפינ לאלהא אמרת להונ רוחא דקודשׁא פרושׁו לי לשׁאול ולברנבא לעבדא אינא דאנא קרית אנונ |
| [3]Then fasted they and prayed, and laid their hands on them, and let them go. |
[3]ובתר דצמו וצליו סמו עליהונ אידא ושׁדרו אנונ |
| [4]And they, after they were sent forth of the Holy Ghost, came down unto Seleucia, and from thence they sailed to Cyprus. |
[4]והנונ כד אשׁתלחו מנ רוחא דקודשׁא נחתו להונ לסלוקיא ומנ תמנ רדו בימא עדמא לקופרוס |
| [5]And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the Synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister. |
[5]וכד עלו לסלמנא מדינתא מסברינ הוו מלתה דמרנ בכנושׁתא דיהודיא ויוחננ משׁמשׁ הוא להונ |
| [6]So when they had gone throughout the Isle unto Paphus, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, being a Jew, named Barjesus, |
[6]וכד אתכרכוה לכלה גזרתא עדמא לפפוס מדינתא אשׁכחו גברא חד חרשׁא יהודיא דאיתוהי הוא נביא דגלא דשׁמה הוא ברשׁומא |
| [7]Which was with the Deputy Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. He called unto him Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. |
[7]הנא דביק הוא לגברא חכימא דאיתוהי הוא אנתופטוס ומתקרא הוא סרגיוס-פולוס וקרא הוא אנתופטוס לשׁאול ולברנבא ובעא הוא דנשׁמע מנהונ מלתא דאלהא |
| [8]But Elymas, the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, and sought to turn away the Deputy from the faith. |
[8]קאמ הוא דינ לוקבלהונ הו הנא חרשׁא ברשׁומא דמתתרגמ שׁמה אלומס מטל דצבא הוא דנעקמיוהי לאנתופטוס מנ הימנותא |
| [9]Then Saul (which also is called Paul) being full of the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, |
[9]שׁאול דינ הו דאתקרי פולוס אתמלי הוא ברוחא דקודשׁא וחר בה |
| [10]And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, the child of the devil, and enemy of all righteousness, will thou not cease to pervert the straight ways of the Lord? |
[10]ואמר או דמלא כל נכלינ וכלהינ בישׁתא ברה דאכל קרצא ובעלדבבא דכלה כאנותא לא שׁלא אנת למעקמו אורחתה תריצתא דמריא |
| [11]Now therefore behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, and not see the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness, and he went about, seeking some to lead him by the hand. |
[11]והשׁא אידה דמריא עליכ ותהוא סמא ולא תחזא שׁמשׁא עדמא לזבנא ובה בשׁעתא נפל עלוהי עמטנא וחשׁוכא ומתכרכ הוא ובעא דמנו נאחוד באידה |
| [12]Then the Deputy when he saw what was done, believed, and was astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. |
[12]וכד חזא אנתופטוס מדמ דהוא אתדמר והימנ ביולפנה דמריא |
| [13]Now when Paul and they that were with him were departed by ship from Paphus, they came to Perga a city of Pamphylia: then John departed from them, and returned to Jerusalem. |
[13]פולוס דינ וברנבא רדו בימא מנ פפוס מדינתא ואתו להונ לפרגא מדינתא דפמפוליא ופרשׁ מנהונ יוחננ ואזל לה לאורשׁלמ |
| [14]But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antiochia a city of Pisidia, and went into the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down. |
[14]הנונ דינ נפקו מנ פרגא ואתו לאנטיכיא מדינתא דפיסידיא ועלו לכנושׁתא ויתבו ביומא ושׁבתא |
| [15]And after the lecture of the Law and Prophets, the rulers of the Synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on. |
[15]ובתר דאתקרי נמוסא ונביא שׁלחו להונ קשׁישׁא דכנושׁתא ואמרו גברא אחינ אנ הו דאית לכונ מלתא דבויאא מללו עמ עמא |
| [16]Then Paul stood up and beckoned with the hand, and said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, hearken. |
[16]וקמ פולוס ואניפ אידה ואמר גברא בני איסריל ואילינ דדחלינ מנ אלהא שׁמעו |
| [17]The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought them out thereof. |
[17]אלהה דעמא הנא גבא לאבהתנ וארימ ואורב אנונ כד הוו תותבא בארעא דמצרינ ובדרעא רמא אפק אנונ מנה |
| [18]And about the time of forty years, suffered he their manners in the wilderness. |
[18]ותרסי אנונ במדברא ארבעינ שׁנינ |
| [19]And he destroyed seven nations in the land of Chanaan, and divided their land to them by lot. |
[19]והגמ שׁבעא עממינ בארעא דכנענ ויהב להונ ארעהונ ליורתנא |
| [20]Then afterward he gave unto them Judges about four hundred and fifty years, unto the time of Samuel the Prophet. |
[20]וארבע מאא וחמשׁינ שׁנינ יהב להונ דינא עדמא לשׁמואיל נביא |
| [21]So after that they desired a King, and God gave unto them Saul, the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, by the space of forty years. |
[21]והידינ שׁאלו להונ מלכא ויהב להונ אלהא לשׁאול בר קישׁ גברא מנ שׁרבתא דבנימינ שׁנינ ארבעינ |
| [22]And after he had taken him away, he raised up David to be their King, of whom he witnessed, saying, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which will do all things that I will. |
[22]ונסבה ואקימ להונ לדויד מלכא ואסהד עלוהי ואמר דאשׁכחת לדויד ברה דאישׁי גברא איכ לבי הו נעבד כלהונ צביני |
| [23]Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised up to Israel, the Savior Jesus: |
[23]מנ זרעה דהנא אקימ אלהא לאיסריל איכ מא דאשׁתודי לישׁוע פרוקא |
| [24]When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. |
[24]ושׁדר ליוחננ דנכרז קדמ מאתיתה מעמודיתא דתיבותא לכלה עמא דאיסריל |
| [25]And when John had fulfilled his course, he said, Whom ye think that I am, I am not he: but behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoe of his feet I am not worthy to loose. |
[25]וכד משׁלמ הוא יוחננ תשׁמשׁתה אמר הוא מנו סברינ אנתונ דאיתי לא הוית אנא אלא הא אתא בתרי הו דלא שׁוא אנא דאשׁרא ערקא דמסנוהי |
| [26]Ye men and brethren, children of the generation of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. |
[26]גברא אחינ בני שׁרבתה דאברהמ ואילינ דדחלינ עמכונ לאלהא לכונ הו אשׁתדרת מלתא דחיא |
| [27]For the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the words of the Prophets, which are read every Sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him. |
[27]הלינ גיר עמורא דאורשׁלמ ורשׁניהונ לא ארגשׁו בה אפלא בכתבא דנביא דמתקרינ בכל שׁבא אלא דנוהי ושׁלמו הלינ דכתיבנ |
| [28]And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate to kill him. |
[28]וכד לא אשׁכחו עלתא דמותא מדמ שׁאלו מנ פילטוס דנקטלוניהי |
| [29]And when they had fulfilled all things that were written of him, they took him down from the tree, and put him in a sepulcher. |
[29]וכד שׁלמו כלמדמ דכתיב הוא עלוהי אחתוהי מנ צליבא וסמוהי בית קבורא |
| [30]But God raised him up from the dead. |
[30]אלהא דינ אקימה מנ בית מיתא |
| [31]And he was seen many days of them, which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, which are his witnesses unto the people. |
[31]ואתחזי יומתא סגיאא לאילינ דסלקו עמה מנ גלילא לאורשׁלמ והנונ אנונ השׁא סהדוהי לות עמא |
| [32]And we declare unto you, that touching the promise made unto the fathers, |
[32]ואפ חננ הא מסבריננ לכונ דשׁוודיא הו דהוא לות אבהתנ |
| [33]God hath fulfilled it unto us their children, in that he raised up Jesus, even as it is written in the second Psalm, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee. |
[33]הא שׁמליה אלהא לנ לבניהונ דאקימ לישׁוע איכ דכתיב במזמורא דתרינ דברי אנת אנא יומנא ילדתכ |
| [34]Now as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, no more to return to the grave, he hath said thus, I will give you the holy things of David, which are faithful. |
[34]והכנא אקימה אלהא מנ בית מיתא דתוב לא נהפוכ נחזא חבלא איכ דאמר דאתל לכונ טיבותה דדויד מהימנתא |
| [35]Wherefore he saith also in another place, Thou wilt not suffer thine Holy one to see corruption. |
[35]ותוב אמר בדוכתא אחרתא דלא יהבת לחסיכ דנחזא חבלא |
| [36]Howbeit, David after he had served his time by the counsel of God, he slept, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption. |
[36]דויד גיר בשׁרבתה שׁמשׁ צבינה דאלהא ושׁכב ואתתוספ על אבהוהי וחזא חבלא |
| [37]But he whom God raised up, saw no corruption. |
[37]הנא דינ דאקימ אלהא לא חזא חבלא |
| [38]Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. |
[38]דעו הכיל אחי דבה בהנא מתכרז לכונ שׁובקנ חטהא |
| [39]And from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the Law of Moses, by him every one that believeth, is justified. |
[39]ומנ כל דלא אשׁכחתונ בנמוסא דמושׁא דתזדדקונ בהנא כל דמהימנ מזדדק |
| [40]Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the Prophets, |
[40]אזדהרו הכיל דלמא נאתא עליכונ מדמ דכתיב בנביא |
| [41]Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and vanish away: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall not believe, if a man would declare it you. |
[41]דחזו מבסרנא ותתמהונ ותתחבלונ דעבדא עבד אנא ביומיכונ אינא דלא תהימנונ אנ אנשׁ משׁתעא לכונ |
| [42] And when they were come out of the Synagogue of the Jews, the Gentiles besought, that they would preach these words to them the next Sabbath day. |
[42]וכד נפקינ הוו מנ צאדיהונ בעו מנהונ דלשׁבתא אחרתא נמללונ עמהונ מלא הלינ |
| [43]Now when the congregation was dissolved, many of the Jews, and proselytes that feared God, followed Paul and Barnabas, which spake to them, and exhorted them to continue in the grace of God. |
[43]ומנ דאשׁתרית כנושׁתא סגיאא יהודיא אזלו בתרהונ ואפ גיורא דדחלינ הוו מנ אלהא והנונ ממללינ הוו ומפיסינ להונ דנהוונ נקיפינ לטיבותה דאלהא |
| [44]And the next Sabbath day came almost the whole city together, to hear the word of God. |
[44]ולשׁבתא אחרתא כנשׁת כלה מדינתא למשׁמע מלתה דאלהא |
| [45]But when the Jews saw the people, they were full of envy, and spake against those things, which were spoken of Paul, contrarying them and railing , on them. |
[45]וכד חזו יהודיא כנשׁא סגיאא אתמליו חסמא וקימינ הוו לוקבל מלא דאמר הוא פולוס ומגדפינ הוו |
| [46]Then Paul and Barnabas spake boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken unto you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. |
[46]אמר דינ פולוס וברנבא עינ בגלא לכונ הו ולא הוא קדמית דתתאמר מלתה דאלהא אלא מטל דדחינ אנתונ לה מנכונ ופסקתונ על נפשׁכונ דלא שׁוינ אנתונ לחיא דלעלמ הא מתפניננ לנ לות עממא |
| [47]For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have made thee a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be the salvation unto the end of the world. |
[47]הכנא גיר פקדנ מרנ איכ דכתיב דסמתכ נוהרא לעממא דתהוא לחיא עדמא לסופיה דארעא |
| [48]And when the Gentiles heard it, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained unto eternal life, believed. |
[48]וכד שׁמעינ הוו עממא חדינ הוו ומשׁבחינ לאלהא והימנו אילינ דסימינ הוו לחיא דלעלמ |
| [49]Thus the word of the Lord was published throughout the whole country. |
[49]ומלתה דמריא מתמללא הות בכלה הו אתרא |
| [50]But the Jews stirred certain devout and honorable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. |
[50]יהודיא דינ גרגו לרשׁא דמדינתא ולנשׁא עתירתא אילינ דדחלנ הוי עמהונ לאלהא ואקימו רדופיא על פולוס ועל ברנבא ואפקו אנונ מנ תחומיהונ |
| [51]But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. |
[51]וכד נפקו נפצו עליהונ חלא דרגליהונ ואתו להונ לאיקנונ מדינתא |
| [52]And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. |
[52]ותלמידא מתמלינ הוו חדותא ורוחא דקודשׁא |
