| [2]לְהַטֹּ֤ות מִדִּין֙ דַּלִּ֔ים וְלִגְזֹ֕ל מִשְׁפַּ֖ט עֲנִיֵּ֣י עַמִּ֑י לִהְיֹ֤ות אַלְמָנֹות֙ שְׁלָלָ֔ם וְאֶת־יְתֹומִ֖ים יָבֹֽזּוּ׃ |
[2]To turn asideH5186[H8687] the needyH1800 from judgmentH1779, and to take awayH1497[H8800] the rightH4941 from the poorH6041 of my peopleH5971, that widowsH490 may be their preyH7998, and that they may robH962[H8799] the fatherlessH3490! |
| [3]וּמַֽה־תַּעֲשׂוּ֙ לְיֹ֣ום פְּקֻדָּ֔ה וּלְשֹׁואָ֖ה מִמֶּרְחָ֣ק תָּבֹ֑וא עַל־מִי֙ תָּנ֣וּסוּ לְעֶזְרָ֔ה וְאָ֥נָה תַעַזְב֖וּ כְּבֹודְכֶֽם׃ |
[3]And what will ye doH6213[H8799] in the dayH3117 of visitationH6486, and in the desolationH7722 which shall comeH935[H8799] from farH4801? to whom will ye fleeH5127[H8799] for helpH5833? and where will ye leaveH5800[H8799] your gloryH3519? |
| [4]בִּלְתִּ֤י כָרַע֙ תַּ֣חַת אַסִּ֔יר וְתַ֥חַת הֲרוּגִ֖ים יִפֹּ֑לוּ בְּכָל־זֹאת֙ לֹא־שָׁ֣ב אַפֹּ֔ו וְעֹ֖וד יָדֹ֥ו נְטוּיָֽה׃ |
[4]Without me they shallH1115 bow downH3766[H8804] under the prisonersH616, and they shall fallH5307[H8799] under the slainH2026[H8803]. For all this his angerH639 is not turned awayH7725[H8804], but his handH3027 is stretched out stillH5186.[H8803] |
| [5]הֹ֥וי אַשּׁ֖וּר שֵׁ֣בֶט אַפִּ֑י וּמַטֶּה־ה֥וּא בְיָדָ֖ם זַעְמִֽי׃ |

| [6]בְּגֹ֤וי חָנֵף֙ אֲשַׁלְּחֶ֔נּוּ וְעַל־עַ֥ם עֶבְרָתִ֖י אֲצַוֶּ֑נּוּ לִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ וְלָבֹ֣ז בַּ֔ז [וּלְשִׂימֹו כ] (וּלְשׂוּמֹ֥ו ק) מִרְמָ֖ס כְּחֹ֥מֶר חוּצֹֽות׃ |
[6]I will sendH7971[H8762] him against an hypocriticalH2611 nationH1471, and against the peopleH5971 of my wrathH5678 will I give him a chargeH6680[H8762], to takeH7997[H8800] the spoilH7998, and to takeH962[H8800] the preyH957, and to tread them downH7760[H8800][H4823] like the mireH2563 of the streetsH2351. |
| [7]וְהוּא֙ לֹא־כֵ֣ן יְדַמֶּ֔ה וּלְבָבֹ֖ו לֹא־כֵ֣ן יַחְשֹׁ֑ב כִּ֚י לְהַשְׁמִ֣יד בִּלְבָבֹ֔ו וּלְהַכְרִ֥ית גֹּויִ֖ם לֹ֥א מְעָֽט׃ |
[7]Howbeit he meanethH1819[H8762] not so, neither doth his heartH3824 thinkH2803[H8799] so; but it is in his heartH3824 to destroyH8045[H8687] and cut offH3772[H8687] nationsH1471 not a fewH4592. |
| [8]כִּ֖י יֹאמַ֑ר הֲלֹ֥א שָׂרַ֛י יַחְדָּ֖ו מְלָכִֽים׃ |
[8]For he saithH559[H8799], Are not my princesH8269 altogetherH3162 kingsH4428? |
| [9]הֲלֹ֥א כְּכַרְכְּמִ֖ישׁ כַּלְנֹ֑ו אִם־לֹ֤א כְאַרְפַּד֙ חֲמָ֔ת אִם־לֹ֥א כְדַמֶּ֖שֶׂק שֹׁמְרֹֽון׃ |
[9]Is not CalnoH3641 as CarchemishH3751? is not HamathH2574 as ArpadH774? is not SamariaH8111 as DamascusH1834? |
| [10]כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ מָצְאָ֣ה יָדִ֔י לְמַמְלְכֹ֖ת הָאֱלִ֑יל וּפְסִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם מִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם וּמִשֹּׁמְרֹֽון׃ |
[10]As my handH3027 hath foundH4672[H8804] the kingdomsH4467 of the idolsH457, and whose graven imagesH6456 did excel them of JerusalemH3389 and of SamariaH8111; |
| [11]הֲלֹ֗א כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֛יתִי לְשֹׁמְרֹ֖ון וְלֶאֱלִילֶ֑יהָ כֵּ֛ן אֶעֱשֶׂ֥ה לִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם וְלַעֲצַבֶּֽיהָ׃ |
[11]Shall I not, as I have doneH6213[H8804] unto SamariaH8111 and her idolsH457, so doH6213[H8799] to JerusalemH3389 and her idolsH6091? |
| [12]וְהָיָ֗ה כִּֽי־יְבַצַּ֤ע אֲדֹנָי֙ אֶת־כָּל־מַֽעֲשֵׂ֔הוּ בְּהַ֥ר צִיֹּ֖ון וּבִירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם אֶפְקֹ֗ד עַל־פְּרִי־גֹ֙דֶל֙ לְבַ֣ב מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁ֔וּר וְעַל־תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת ר֥וּם עֵינָֽיו׃ |
[12]Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the LordH136 hath performedH1214[H8762] his whole workH4639 upon mountH2022 ZionH6726 and on JerusalemH3389, I will punishH6485[H8799] the fruitH6529 of the stoutH1433 heartH3824 of the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, and the gloryH8597 of his highH7312 looksH5869. |
| [13]כִּ֣י אָמַ֗ר בְּכֹ֤חַ יָדִי֙ עָשִׂ֔יתִי וּבְחָכְמָתִ֖י כִּ֣י נְבֻנֹ֑ותִי וְאָסִ֣יר ׀ גְּבוּלֹ֣ת עַמִּ֗ים [וַעֲתִידֹתֵיהֶם כ] (וַעֲתוּדֹֽותֵיהֶם֙ ק) שֹׁושֵׂ֔תִי וְאֹורִ֥יד כַּאבִּ֖יר יֹושְׁבִֽים׃ |
[13]For he saithH559[H8804], By the strengthH3581 of my handH3027 I have doneH6213[H8804] it, and by my wisdomH2451; for I am prudentH995[H8738]: and I have removedH5493[H8686] the boundsH1367 of the peopleH5971, and have robbedH8154[H8782] their treasuresH6259[H8675][H6264], and I have put downH3381[H8686] the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] like a valiantH47 manH3524: |
| [14]וַתִּמְצָ֨א כַקֵּ֤ן ׀ יָדִי֙ לְחֵ֣יל הָֽעַמִּ֔ים וְכֶאֱסֹף֙ בֵּיצִ֣ים עֲזֻבֹ֔ות כָּל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲנִ֣י אָסָ֑פְתִּי וְלֹ֤א הָיָה֙ נֹדֵ֣ד כָּנָ֔ף וּפֹצֶ֥ה פֶ֖ה וּמְצַפְצֵֽף׃ |
[14]And my handH3027 hath foundH4672[H8799] as a nestH7064 the richesH2428 of the peopleH5971: and as one gatherethH622[H8800] eggsH1000 that are leftH5800[H8803], have I gatheredH622[H8804] all the earthH776; and there was none that movedH5074[H8802] the wingH3671, or openedH6475[H8802] the mouthH6310, or peepedH6850.[H8772] |
| [15]הֲיִתְפָּאֵר֙ הַגַּרְזֶ֔ן עַ֖ל הַחֹצֵ֣ב בֹּ֑ו אִם־יִתְגַּדֵּ֤ל הַמַּשֹּׂור֙ עַל־מְנִיפֹ֔ו כְּהָנִ֥יף שֵׁ֙בֶט֙ וְאֶת־מְרִימָ֔יו כְּהָרִ֥ים מַטֶּ֖ה לֹא־עֵֽץ׃ |
[15]Shall the axeH1631 boastH6286[H8691] itself against him that hewethH2672[H8802] therewith? or shall the sawH4883 magnifyH1431[H8691] itself against him that shakethH5130[H8688] it? as if the rodH7626 should shakeH5130[H8687] itself against them that lift it upH7311[H8688], or as if the staffH4294 should lift upH7311[H8687] itself, as if it were no woodH6086. |
| [16]לָ֠כֵן יְשַׁלַּ֨ח הָאָדֹ֜ון יְהוָ֧ה צְבָאֹ֛ות בְּמִשְׁמַנָּ֖יו רָזֹ֑ון וְתַ֧חַת כְּבֹדֹ֛ו יֵקַ֥ד יְקֹ֖ד כִּיקֹ֥וד אֵֽשׁ׃ |
[16]Therefore shall the LordH113, the LordH136[H8676][H3068] of hostsH6635, sendH7971[H8762] among his fat onesH4924 leannessH7332; and under his gloryH3519 he shall kindleH3344[H8799] a burningH3350 like the burning of a fireH784. |
| [17]וְהָיָ֤ה אֹֽור־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְאֵ֔שׁ וּקְדֹושֹׁ֖ו לְלֶהָבָ֑ה וּבָעֲרָ֗ה וְאָֽכְלָ֛ה שִׁיתֹ֥ו וּשְׁמִירֹ֖ו בְּיֹ֥ום אֶחָֽד׃ |
[17]And the lightH216 of IsraelH3478 shall be for a fireH784, and his Holy OneH6918 for a flameH3852: and it shall burnH1197[H8804] and devourH398[H8804] his thornsH7898 and his briersH8068 in oneH259 dayH3117; |
| [18]וּכְבֹ֤וד יַעְרֹו֙ וְכַרְמִלֹּ֔ו מִנֶּ֥פֶשׁ וְעַד־בָּשָׂ֖ר יְכַלֶּ֑ה וְהָיָ֖ה כִּמְסֹ֥ס נֹסֵֽס׃ |
[18]And shall consumeH3615[H8762] the gloryH3519 of his forestH3293, and of his fruitful fieldH3759, both soulH5315 and bodyH1320: and they shall be as when a standardbearerH5263[H8802] faintethH4549.[H8800] |
| [19]וּשְׁאָ֥ר עֵ֛ץ יַעְרֹ֖ו מִסְפָּ֣ר יִֽהְי֑וּ וְנַ֖עַר יִכְתְּבֵֽם׃ |
[19]And the restH7605 of the treesH6086 of his forestH3293 shall be fewH4557, that a childH5288 may writeH3789 themH8799. |
| [20]וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיֹּ֣ום הַה֗וּא לֹֽא־יֹוסִ֨יף עֹ֜וד שְׁאָ֤ר יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וּפְלֵיטַ֣ת בֵּֽית־יַעֲקֹ֔ב לְהִשָּׁעֵ֖ן עַל־מַכֵּ֑הוּ וְנִשְׁעַ֗ן עַל־יְהוָ֛ה קְדֹ֥ושׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּאֱמֶֽת׃ |
[20]And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that the remnantH7605 of IsraelH3478, and such as are escapedH6413 of the houseH1004 of JacobH3290, shall no more againH3254[H8686] stayH8172[H8736] upon him that smoteH5221[H8688] them; but shall stayH8172[H8738] upon the LORDH3068, the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478, in truthH571. |
| [21]שְׁאָ֥ר יָשׁ֖וּב שְׁאָ֣ר יַעֲקֹ֑ב אֶל־אֵ֖ל גִּבֹּֽור׃ |
[21]The remnantH7605 shall returnH7725[H8799], even the remnantH7605 of JacobH3290, unto the mightyH1368 GodH410. |
| [22]כִּ֣י אִם־יִהְיֶ֞ה עַמְּךָ֤ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כְּחֹ֣ול הַיָּ֔ם שְׁאָ֖ר יָשׁ֣וּב בֹּ֑ו כִּלָּיֹ֥ון חָר֖וּץ שֹׁוטֵ֥ף צְדָקָֽה׃ |
[22]For though thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 be as the sandH2344 of the seaH3220, yet a remnantH7605 of them shall returnH7725[H8799]: the consumptionH3631 decreedH2782[H8803] shall overflowH7857[H8802] with righteousnessH6666. |
| [23]כִּ֥י כָלָ֖ה וְנֶחֱרָצָ֑ה אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ צְבָאֹ֔ות עֹשֶׂ֖ה בְּקֶ֥רֶב כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ |
[23]For the LordH136 GODH3069 of hostsH6635 shall makeH6213[H8802] a consumptionH3617, even determinedH2782[H8737], in the midstH7130 of all the landH776. |
| [24]לָכֵ֗ן כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ צְבָאֹ֔ות אַל־תִּירָ֥א עַמִּ֛י יֹשֵׁ֥ב צִיֹּ֖ון מֵֽאַשּׁ֑וּר בַּשֵּׁ֣בֶט יַכֶּ֔כָּה וּמַטֵּ֥הוּ יִשָּֽׂא־עָלֶ֖יךָ בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ |
[24]Therefore thus saithH559[H8804] the LordH136 GODH3069 of hostsH6635, O my peopleH5971 that dwellestH3427[H8802] in ZionH6726, be not afraidH3372[H8799] of the AssyrianH804: he shall smiteH5221[H8686] thee with a rodH7626, and shall lift upH5375[H8799] his staffH4294 against thee, after the mannerH1870 of EgyptH4714. |
| [25]כִּי־עֹ֖וד מְעַ֣ט מִזְעָ֑ר וְכָ֣לָה זַ֔עַם וְאַפִּ֖י עַל־תַּבְלִיתָֽם׃ |
[25]For yet a veryH4213 little whileH4592, and the indignationH2195 shall ceaseH3615[H8804], and mine angerH639 in their destructionH8399. |
| [26]וְעֹורֵ֨ר עָלָ֜יו יְהוָ֤ה צְבָאֹות֙ שֹׁ֔וט כְּמַכַּ֥ת מִדְיָ֖ן בְּצ֣וּר עֹורֵ֑ב וּמַטֵּ֙הוּ֙ עַל־הַיָּ֔ם וּנְשָׂאֹ֖ו בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ |
[26]And the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 shall stir upH5782[H8790] a scourgeH7752 for him according to the slaughterH4347 of MidianH4080 at the rockH6697 of OrebH6159: and as his rodH4294 was upon the seaH3220, so shall he lift it upH5375[H8804] after the mannerH1870 of EgyptH4714. |
| [27]וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיֹּ֣ום הַה֗וּא יָס֤וּר סֻבֳּלֹו֙ מֵעַ֣ל שִׁכְמֶ֔ךָ וְעֻלֹּ֖ו מֵעַ֣ל צַוָּארֶ֑ךָ וְחֻבַּ֥ל עֹ֖ל מִפְּנֵי־שָֽׁמֶן׃ |
[27]And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, that his burdenH5448 shall be taken awayH5493[H8799] from off thy shoulderH7926, and his yokeH5923 from off thy neckH6677, and the yokeH5923 shall be destroyedH2254[H8795] becauseH6440 of the anointingH8081. |
| [28]בָּ֥א עַל־עַיַּ֖ת עָבַ֣ר בְּמִגְרֹ֑ון לְמִכְמָ֖שׂ יַפְקִ֥יד כֵּלָֽיו׃ |
[28]He is comeH935[H8804] to AiathH5857, he is passedH5674[H8804] to MigronH4051; at MichmashH4363 he hath laid upH6485[H8686] his carriagesH3627: |
| [29]עָֽבְרוּ֙ מַעְבָּרָ֔ה גֶּ֖בַע מָלֹ֣ון לָ֑נוּ חָֽרְדָה֙ הָֽרָמָ֔ה גִּבְעַ֥ת שָׁא֖וּל נָֽסָה׃ |
[29]They are gone overH5674[H8804] the passageH4569: they have taken up their lodgingH4411 at GebaH1387; RamahH7414 is afraidH2729[H8804]; GibeahH1390 of SaulH7586 is fledH5127.[H8804] |
| [30]צַהֲלִ֥י קֹולֵ֖ךְ בַּת־גַּלִּ֑ים הַקְשִׁ֥יבִי לַ֖יְשָׁה עֲנִיָּ֥ה עֲנָתֹֽות׃ |
[30]Lift upH6670[H8761] thy voiceH6963, O daughterH1323 ofH1530 GallimH1554: cause it to be heardH7181[H8685] unto LaishH3919, O poorH6041 AnathothH6068. |
| [31]נָדְדָ֖ה מַדְמֵנָ֑ה יֹשְׁבֵ֥י הַגֵּבִ֖ים הֵעִֽיזוּ׃ |
[31]MadmenahH4088 is removedH5074[H8804]; the inhabitantsH3427[H8802] of GebimH1374 gather themselves to fleeH5756.[H8689] |
| [32]עֹ֥וד הַיֹּ֖ום בְּנֹ֣ב לַֽעֲמֹ֑ד יְנֹפֵ֤ף יָדֹו֙ הַ֣ר [בֵּית־ כ] (בַּת־צִיֹּ֔ון ק) גִּבְעַ֖ת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ |
[32]As yet shall he remainH5975[H8800] at NobH5011 that dayH3117: he shall shakeH5130[H8787] his handH3027 against the mountH2022 of the daughterH1323[H8675][H1004] of ZionH6726, the hillH1389 of JerusalemH3389. |
| [33]הִנֵּ֤ה הָאָדֹון֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאֹ֔ות מְסָעֵ֥ף פֻּארָ֖ה בְּמַעֲרָצָ֑ה וְרָמֵ֤י הַקֹּומָה֙ גְּדוּעִ֔ים וְהַגְּבֹהִ֖ים יִשְׁפָּֽלוּ׃ |
[33]Behold, the LordH113, the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, shall lopH5586[H8764] the boughH6288 with terrorH4637: and the high onesH7311[H8802] of statureH6967 shall be hewn downH1438[H8803], and the haughtyH1364 shall be humbledH8213.[H8799] |
| [34]וְנִקַּ֛ף סִֽבְכֵ֥י הַיַּ֖עַר בַּבַּרְזֶ֑ל וְהַלְּבָנֹ֖ון בְּאַדִּ֥יר יִפֹּֽול׃ |
[34]And he shall cut downH5362[H8765] the thicketsH5442 of the forestH3293 with ironH1270, and LebanonH3844 shall fallH5307[H8799] by a mighty oneH117. |
