[1]And now, thus said Jehovah, Thy Creator, O Jacob, and thy Fashioner, O Israel, Be not afraid, for I have redeemed thee, I have called on thy name -- thou [art] Mine. |
| [2]When thou passest throughH5674[H8799] the watersH4325, I will be with thee; and through the riversH5104, they shall not overflowH7857[H8799] thee: when thou walkestH3212[H8799] throughH1119 the fireH784, thou shalt not be burnedH3554[H8735]; neither shall the flameH3852 kindleH1197 upon theeH8799. |
[2]When thou passest into waters, I [am] with thee, And into floods, they do not overflow thee, When thou goest into fire, thou art not burnt, And a flame doth not burn against thee. |
| [3]For I am the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478, thy SaviourH3467[H8688]: I gaveH5414[H8804] EgyptH4714 for thy ransomH3724, EthiopiaH3568 and Seba for theeH5434. |
[3]For I -- Jehovah thy God, The Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour, I have appointed Egypt thine atonement, Cush and Seba in thy stead. |
| [4]Since thou wast preciousH3365[H8804] in my sightH5869, thou hast been honourableH3513[H8738], and I have lovedH157[H8804] thee: therefore will I giveH5414[H8799] menH120 for thee, and peopleH3816 for thy lifeH5315. |
[4]Since thou wast precious in Mine eyes, Thou wast honoured, and I have loved thee, And I appoint men in thy stead, And peoples instead of thy life. |
| [5]FearH3372[H8799] not: for I am with thee: I will bringH935[H8686] thy seedH2233 from the eastH4217, and gatherH6908[H8762] thee from the westH4628; |
[5]Be not afraid, for I [am] with thee, From the east I bring in thy seed, And from the west I gather thee. |
| [6]I will sayH559[H8799] to the northH6828, Give upH5414[H8798]; and to the southH8486, Keep not backH3607[H8799]: bringH935[H8685] my sonsH1121 from farH7350, and my daughtersH1323 from the endsH7097 of the earthH776; |
[6]I am saying to the north, `Give up,' And to the south, `Restrain not.' Bring in My sons from afar, And My daughters from the end of the earth. |
| [7]Even every oneH3605 that is calledH7121[H8737] by my nameH8034: for I have createdH1254[H8804] him for my gloryH3519, I have formedH3335[H8804] him; yea, I have madeH6213 himH8804. |
[7]Every one who is called by My name, Even for My honour I have created him, I have formed him, yea, I have made him. |
| [8]Bring forthH3318[H8685] the blindH5787 peopleH5971 that haveH3426 eyesH5869, and the deafH2795 that have earsH241. |
[8]He brought out a blind people who have eyes, And deaf ones who have ears. |
| [9]Let all the nationsH1471 be gatheredH6908[H8738] togetherH3162, and let the peopleH3816 be assembledH622[H8735]: who among them can declareH5046[H8686] this, and shewH8085[H8686] us former thingsH7223? let them bring forthH5414[H8799] their witnessesH5707, that they may be justifiedH6663[H8799]: or let them hearH8085[H8799], and sayH559[H8799], It is truthH571. |
[9]All the nations have been gathered together, And the peoples are assembled, Who among them declareth this, And former things causeth us to hear? They give their witnesses, And they are declared righteous, And they hear and say, `Truth.' |
| [10]Ye are my witnessesH5707, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, and my servantH5650 whom I have chosenH977[H8804]: that ye may knowH3045[H8799] and believeH539[H8686] me, and understandH995[H8799] that I am he: beforeH6440 me there was no GodH410 formedH3335[H8738], neither shall there be after meH310. |
[10]Ye [are] My witnesses, an affirmation of Jehovah, And My servant whom I have chosen, So that ye know and give credence to Me, And understand that I [am] He, Before Me there was no God formed, And after Me there is none. |
| [11]I, even I, am the LORDH3068; and besideH1107 me there is no saviourH3467.[H8688] |
[11]I -- I [am] Jehovah, And besides Me there is no saviour. |
| [12]I have declaredH5046[H8689], and have savedH3467[H8689], and I have shewedH8085[H8689], when there was no strangeH2114[H8801] god among you: therefore ye are my witnessesH5707, saithH5002[H8803] the LORDH3068, that I am GodH410. |
[12]I -- I declared, and saved, and proclaimed, And there is no stranger with you, And ye [are] My witnesses, an affirmation of Jehovah, And I [am] God. |
| [13]Yea, before the dayH3117 was I am he; and there is none that can deliverH5337[H8688] out of my handH3027: I will workH6466[H8799], and who shall letH7725 itH8686? |
[13]Even from the day I [am] He, And there is no deliverer from My hand, I work, and who doth turn it back? |
| [14]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, your redeemerH1350[H8802], the Holy OneH6918 of IsraelH3478; For your sake I have sentH7971[H8765] to BabylonH894, and have brought downH3381[H8689] all their noblesH1281, and the ChaldeansH3778, whose cryH7440 is in the shipsH591. |
[14]Thus said Jehovah, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: `For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And caused bars to descend -- all of them, And the Chaldeans, whose song [is] in the ships. |
| [15]I am the LORDH3068, your Holy OneH6918, the creatorH1254[H8802] of IsraelH3478, your KingH4428. |
[15]I [am] Jehovah, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King.' |
| [16]Thus saithH559[H8804] the LORDH3068, which makethH5414[H8802] a wayH1870 in the seaH3220, and a pathH5410 in the mightyH5794 watersH4325; |
[16]Thus said Jehovah, Who is giving in the sea a way, And in the strong waters a path. |
| [17]Which bringeth forthH3318[H8688] the chariotH7393 and horseH5483, the armyH2428 and the powerH5808; they shall lie downH7901[H8799] togetherH3162, they shall not riseH6965[H8799]: they are extinctH1846[H8804], they are quenchedH3518[H8804] as towH6594. |
[17]Who is bringing forth chariot and horse, A force, even a strong one: `Together they lie down -- they rise not, They have been extinguished, As flax they have been quenched.' |
| [18]RememberH2142[H8799] ye not the former thingsH7223, neither considerH995[H8709] the things of oldH6931. |
[18]Remember not former things, And ancient things consider not. |
| [19]Behold, I will doH6213[H8802] a new thingH2319; now it shall spring forthH6779[H8799]; shall ye not knowH3045[H8799] it? I will even makeH7760[H8799] a wayH1870 in the wildernessH4057, and riversH5104 in the desertH3452. |
[19]Lo, I am doing a new thing, now it springeth up, Do ye not know it? Yea, I put in a wilderness a way, In a desolate place -- floods. |
| [20]The beastH2416 of the fieldH7704 shall honourH3513[H8762] me, the dragonsH8577 and the owlsH1323[H3284]: because I giveH5414[H8804] watersH4325 in the wildernessH4057, and riversH5104 in the desertH3452, to give drinkH8248[H8687] to my peopleH5971, my chosenH972. |
[20]Honour me doth the beast of the field, Dragons and daughters of an ostrich, For I have given in a wilderness waters, Floods in a desolate place, To give drink to My people -- My chosen. |
| [21]ThisH2098 peopleH5971 have I formedH3335[H8804] for myself; they shall shew forthH5608[H8762] my praiseH8416. |
[21]This people I have formed for Myself, My praise they recount. |
| [22]But thou hast not calledH7121[H8804] upon me, O JacobH3290; but thou hast been wearyH3021[H8804] of me, O IsraelH3478. |
[22]And Me thou hast not called, O Jacob, For thou hast been wearied of me, O Israel, |
| [23]Thou hast not broughtH935[H8689] me the small cattleH7716 of thy burnt offeringsH5930; neither hast thou honouredH3513[H8765] me with thy sacrificesH2077. I have not caused thee to serveH5647[H8689] with an offeringH4503, nor weariedH3021[H8689] thee with incenseH3828. |
[23]Thou hast not brought in to Me, The lamb of thy burnt-offerings, And [with] thy sacrifices thou hast not honoured Me, I have not caused thee to serve with a present, Nor wearied thee with frankincense. |
| [24]Thou hast boughtH7069[H8804] me no sweet caneH7070 with moneyH3701, neither hast thou filledH7301[H8689] me with the fatH2459 of thy sacrificesH2077: but thou hast made me to serveH5647[H8689] with thy sinsH2403, thou hast weariedH3021[H8689] me with thine iniquitiesH5771. |
[24]Thou hast not bought for Me with money sweet cane, And [with] the fat of thy sacrifices hast not filled Me, Only -- thou hast caused Me to serve with thy sins, Thou hast wearied Me with thine iniquities. |
| [25]I, even I, am he that blotteth outH4229[H8802] thy transgressionsH6588 for mine own sake, and will not rememberH2142[H8799] thy sinsH2403. |
[25]I -- I [am] He who is blotting out Thy transgressions for Mine own sake, And thy sins I do not remember. |
| [26]Put me in remembranceH2142[H8685]: let us pleadH8199[H8735] togetherH3162: declareH5608[H8761] thou, that thou mayest be justifiedH6663.[H8799] |
[26]Cause me to remember -- we are judged together, Declare thou that thou mayest be justified. |
| [27]Thy firstH7223 fatherH1 hath sinnedH2398[H8804], and thy teachersH3887[H8688] have transgressedH6586 against meH8804. |
[27]Thy first father sinned, And thine interpreters transgressed against me, |
| [28]Therefore I have profanedH2490[H8762] the princesH8269 of the sanctuaryH6944, and have givenH5414[H8799] JacobH3290 to the curseH2764, and IsraelH3478 to reproachesH1421. |
[28]And I pollute princes of the sanctuary, And I give Jacob to destruction, and Israel to revilings! |
