[1]And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying, |

[2]Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh. |

[3]And his mother's brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother. |

[4]And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him. |
| [5]καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S εἰςP ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM εἰςP *εφραθαN--AS καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM υἱόςN2-APM *ιεροβααλN--GSM ἑβδομήκονταM ἀνήρN3-APM ἐπίP λίθοςN2-ASM εἷςA3-ASM καίC καταλείπωVVI-API3S *ιωαθανN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιεροβααλN--GSM ὁRA-NSM νέοςA1A-NSMC ὅτιC κρύπτωVDI-API3S |
[5]And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. |
| [6]καίC συνἄγωVQI-API3P πᾶςA3-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM *σικιμαN--GPM καίC πᾶςA3-NSM οἶκοςN2-NSM *βηθμααλωνN--GS καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3P καίC βασιλεύωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM πρόςP ὁRA-DSF βάλανοςN2-DSF ὁRA-DSF εὑρετόςA1-DSF ὁRA-GSF στάσιςN3I-GSF ὁRA-GSF ἐνP *σικιμαN--DPM |
[6]And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem. |

[7]And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you. |

[8]The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign thou over us. |

[9]But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? |
| [10]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPN ξύλονN2N-NPN ὁRA-DSF συκῆN1-DSF δεῦροD βασιλεύωVA-AAD2S ἐπίP ἐγώRP-GP |
[10]And the trees said to the fig tree, Come thou, and reign over us. |
| [11]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM ὁRA-NSF συκῆN1-NSF μήD ἀπολείπωVA-AAPNSF ἐγώRP-NS ὁRA-ASF γλυκύτηςN3T-ASF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ὁRA-APN γένημαN3M-APN ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-APN ἀγαθόςA1-APN πορεύομαιVF-FMI1S κινέωV2-PMN ἐπίP ὁRA-GPN ξύλονN2N-GPN |
[11]But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees? |
| [12]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPN ξύλονN2N-NPN πρόςP ὁRA-ASF ἄμπελοςN2-ASF δεῦροD σύRP-NS βασιλεύωVA-AAD2S ἐπίP ἐγώRP-GP |
[12]Then said the trees unto the vine, Come thou, and reign over us. |
| [13]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM ὁRA-NSF ἄμπελοςN2-NSF μήD ἀπολείπωVA-AAPNSF ὁRA-ASM οἶνοςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS ὁRA-ASM εὐφραίνωV1-PAPASM θεόςN2-ASM καίC ἄνθρωποςN2-APM πορεύομαιVF-FMI1S κινέωV2-PMN ἐπίP ὁRA-GPN ξύλονN2N-GPN |
[13]And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? |
| [14]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NPN ὁRA-NPN ξύλονN2N-NPN ὁRA-DSF ῥάμνοςN2-DSF δεῦροD σύRP-NS βασιλεύωVA-AAD2S ἐπίP ἐγώRP-GP |
[14]Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us. |
| [15]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF ῥάμνοςN2-NSF πρόςP ὁRA-APN ξύλονN2N-APN εἰX ἐνP ἀλήθειαN1A-DSF χρίωV1-PAI2P ἐγώRP-AS σύRP-NP ὁRA-GSN βασιλεύωV1-PAN ἐπίP σύRP-AP δεῦτεD ὑποἵστημιVH-AAD2P ἐνP ὁRA-DSF σκιάN1A-DSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC εἰX μήD ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S πῦρN3-NSN ἀπόP ἐγώRP-GS καίC καταἐσθίωVB-AAS3S ὁRA-APF κέδροςN2-APF ὁRA-GSM *λίβανοςN2-GSM |
[15]And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon. |
| [16]καίC νῦνD εἰX ἐνP ἀλήθειαN1A-DSF καίC τελειότηςN3T-DSF ποιέωVAI-AAI2P καίC βασιλεύωVAI-AAI2P ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM καίC εἰX ἀγαθωσύνηN1-ASF ποιέωVAI-AAI2P μετάP *ιεροβααλN--GSM καίC μετάP ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἰX ὡςC ἀνταπόδοσιςN3I-NSF χείρN3-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ποιέωVAI-AAI2P αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[16]Now therefore, if ye have done truly and sincerely, in that ye have made Abimelech king, and if ye have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands; |
| [17]ὡςC παρατάσσωVAI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM πατήρN3-NSM ἐγώRP-GS ὑπέρP σύRP-GP καίC ἐκῥίπτωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF ψυχήN1-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκP ἐναντίοςA1A-GSF καίC ῥύομαιVAI-AMI3S σύRP-AP ἐκP χείρN3-GSF *μαδιαμN--GSF |
[17](For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian: |
| [18]καίC σύRP-NP ἐπι ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI2P ἐπίP ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS σήμερονD καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI2P ὁRA-APM υἱόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἑβδομήκονταM ἀνήρN3-APM ἐπίP λίθοςN2-ASM εἷςA3-ASM καίC βασιλεύωVAI-AAI2P ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM υἱόςN2-ASM παιδίσκηN1-GSF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐπίP ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM *σικιμαN--GPM ὅτιC ἀδελφόςN2-NSM σύRP-GP εἰμίV9-PAI3S |
[18]And ye are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;) |
| [19]καίC εἰX ἐνP ἀλήθειαN1A-DSF καίC τελειότηςN3T-DSF ποιέωVAI-AAI2P μετάP *ιεροβααλN--GSM καίC μετάP ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ἡμέραN1A-DSF οὗτοςRD-DSF εὐφραίνωVC-APO2P ἐνP *αβιμελεχN--DSM καίC εὐφραίνωVC-APO3S καίC γέX αὐτόςRD-NSM ἐπίP σύRP-DP |
[19]If ye then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice ye in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you: |
| [20]εἰX δέX οὐD ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAO3S πῦρN3-NSN ἀπόP *αβιμελεχN--ASM καίC ἐσθίωVB-AAO3S ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM *σικιμαN--GPM καίC ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM *βηθμααλλωνN--GS καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAO3S πῦρN3-NSN ἀπόP ἀνήρN3-GPM *σικιμαN--GPM καίC ἐκP ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM *βηθμααλλωνN--GS καίC καταἐσθίωVB-AAO3S ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM |
[20]But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech. |
| [21]καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3S *ιωαθανN--NSM καίC ἀποδιδράσκωVBI-AAI3S καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S ἕωςP *βαιηρN--GSM καίC οἰκέωVAI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN *αβιμελεχN--GSM ἀδελφόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[21]And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother. |
| [22]καίC ἄρχωVAI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ἐπίP *ἰσραήλN--ASM τρεῖςA3-APN ἔτοςN3E-APN |
[22]When Abimelech had reigned three years over Israel, |
| [23]καίC ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM πνεῦμαN3M-ASN πονηρόςA1A-ASN ἀνάP μέσοςA1-ASM *αβιμελεχN--GSM καίC ἀνάP μέσοςA1-ASM ὁRA-GPM ἀνήρN3-GPM *σικιμαN--GPM καίC ἀθετέωVAI-AAI3P ἀνήρN3-NPM *σικιμαN--GPM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM οἶκοςN2-DSM *αβιμελεχN--GSM |
[23]Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech: |
| [24]ὁRA-GSN ἐπιἄγωVB-AAN ὁRA-ASF ἀδικίαN1A-ASF ὁRA-GPM ἑβδομήκονταM υἱόςN2-GPM *ιεροβααλN--GSM καίC ὁRA-APN αἷμαN3M-APN αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁRA-GSN τίθημιVE-AAN ἐπίP *αβιμελεχN--ASM ὁRA-ASM ἀδελφόςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GPM ὅςRR-NSM ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM καίC ἐπίP ἀνήρN3-APM *σικιμαN--GPM ὅτιC ἐνἰσχύωVA-AAI3P ὁRA-APF χείρN3-APF αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀποκτείνωVA-AAN ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[24]That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren. |
| [25]καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM *σικιμαN--GPM ἐνεδρεύωV1-PAPAPM ἐπίP ὁRA-APF κεφαλήN1-APF ὁRA-GPN ὄροςN3E-GPN καίC διαἁρπάζωV1I-IAI3P πᾶςA3-ASM ὅςRR-NSM παραπορεύομαιV1I-IMI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF ὁδόςN2-DSF καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVDI-API3S ὁRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM *αβιμελεχN--DSM |
[25]And the men of Shechem set liers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech. |
| [26]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *γααλN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωβηλN--GSM καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀδελφόςN2-NPM αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC παραἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ἐνP *σικιμαN--DPM καίC ἐλπίζωVAI-AAI3P ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM *σικιμαN--GPM |
[26]And Gaal the son of Ebed came with his brethren, and went over to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him. |
| [27]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ἀγρόςN2-ASM καίC τρυγάωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-APM ἀμπελώνN3W-APM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC πατέωVAI-AAI3P καίC ποιέωVAI-AAI3P ελλουλιμN--APM καίC εἰςφέρωVAI-AAI3P εἰςP οἶκοςN2-ASM θεόςN2-GSM αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἐσθίωVBI-AAI3P καίC πίνωVBI-AAI3P καίC καταἀράομαιVAI-AMI3P ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM |
[27]And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech. |
| [28]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *γααλN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωβηλN--GSM τίςRI-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC τίςRI-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S υἱόςN2-NSM *συχεμN--GSM ὅτιC δουλεύωVF-FAI1P αὐτόςRD-DSM οὐD υἱόςN2-NSM *ιεροβααλN--GSM καίC *ζεβουλN--NSM ἐπισκοπόςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM δοῦλοςN2-NSM αὐτόςRD-GSM σύνP ὁRA-DPM ἀνήρN3-DPM *εμμωρN--GSM πατήρN3-GSM *συχεμN--GSM καίC τίςRI-ASN ὅτιC δουλεύωVF-FAI1P αὐτόςRD-DSM ἐγώRP-NP |
[28]And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him? |
| [29]καίC τίςRI-NSM δίδωμιVO-AAS3S ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM οὗτοςRD-ASM ἐνP χείρN3-DSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC μεταἵστημιVF-FAI1S ὁRA-ASM *αβιμελεχN--ASM καίC εἶπονVF2-FAI1S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM πληθύνωVB-AAD2S ὁRA-ASF δύναμιςN3I-ASF σύRP-GS καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAD2S |
[29]And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase thine army, and come out. |

[30]And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled. |
| [31]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ἄγγελοςN2-APM πρόςP *αβιμελεχN--ASM ἐνP κρυφῇD λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἰδούI *γααλN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωβηλN--GSM καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀδελφόςN2-NPM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἔρχομαιV1-PMI3P εἰςP *συχεμN--ASM καίC ἰδούI αὐτόςRD-NPM περι καταἧμαιV5-PMI3P ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF ἐπίP σύRP-AS |
[31]And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against thee. |

[32]Now therefore up by night, thou and the people that is with thee, and lie in wait in the field: |
| [33]καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3S ὁRA-ASN πρωΐD ἅμαD ὁRA-DSN ἀνατέλλωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASM ἥλιοςN2-ASM ὀρθρίζωVF2-FAI2S καίC ἐκτείνωVF2-FAI2S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF καίC ἰδούI αὐτόςRD-NSM καίC ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκπορεύομαιV1-PMI3P πρόςP σύRP-AS καίC ποιέωVF-FAI2S αὐτόςRD-DSM ὅσοςA1-APN ἄνX εὑρίσκωVB-AAS3S ὁRA-NSF χείρN3-NSF σύRP-GS |
[33]And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, thou shalt rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against thee, then mayest thou do to them as thou shalt find occasion. |

[34]And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies. |

[35]And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from lying in wait. |

[36]And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men. |
| [37]καίC προςτίθημιVEI-AMI3S ἔτιD *γααλN--NSM ὁRA-GSN λαλέωVA-AAN καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἰδούI λαόςN2-NSM καταβαίνωV1-PAPNSM κατάP θάλασσαN1S-ASF ἀπόP ὁRA-GSM ἔχωV1-PMPAPN ὀμφαλόςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF καίC ἀρχήN1-NSF ἕτεροςA1A-NSF ἔρχομαιV1-PMI3S διάP ὁδόςN2-GSF *ηλωνμαωνενιμN--GPM |
[37]And Gaal spake again, and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim. |
| [38]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM *ζεβουλN--NSM καίC ποῦD εἰμίV9-PAI3S ὁRA-NSN στόμαN3M-NSN σύRP-GS ὡςC λαλέωVAI-AAI2S τίςRI-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ὅτιC δουλεύωVF-FAI1P αὐτόςRD-DSM μήD οὐD οὗτοςRD-NSM ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ὅςRR-ASM ἐκοὐδενόωVA-AAI2S ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAD2S δήX νῦνD καίC παρατάσσωVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[38]Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them. |
| [39]καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *γααλN--NSM ἐνώπιονP ἀνήρN3-GPM *συχεμN--GSM καίC παρατάσσωVAI-AMI3S πρόςP *αβιμελεχN--ASM |
[39]And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech. |
| [40]καίC διώκωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3S ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC πίπτωVAI-AAI3P τραυματίαςN1T-NPM πολύςA1A-NPM ἕωςP ὁRA-GSF θύραN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSF πύληN1-GSF |
[40]And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate. |
| [41]καίC εἰςἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ἐνP *αρημαN--DS καίC ἐκβάλλωVBI-AAI3S *ζεβουλN--NSM ὁRA-ASM *γααλN--ASM καίC ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM μήD οἰκέωV2-PAN ἐνP *συχεμN--DSM |
[41]And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem. |
| [42]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-DSF ἐπαύριονD καίC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASM ἀγρόςN2-ASM καίC ἀναἀγγέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM *αβιμελεχN--DSM |
[42]And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech. |
| [43]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM καίC διααἱρέωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM εἰςP τρεῖςA3-APF ἀρχήN1-APF καίC ἐνεδρεύωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP ἀγρόςN2-DSM καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S καίC ἰδούI ὁRA-NSM λαόςN2-NSM ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S ἐκP ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ἐπίP αὐτόςRD-APM καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM |
[43]And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and looked, and, behold, the people were come forth out of the city; and he rose up against them, and smote them. |
| [44]καίC *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀρχηγόςN2-NPM ὁRA-NPM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐκτείνωVAI-AAI3P καίC ἵστημιVAI-AAI3P παράP ὁRA-ASF θύραN1A-ASF ὁRA-GSF πύληN1-GSF ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC ὁRA-NPF δύοM ἀρχήN1-NPF ἐκτείνωVAI-AAI3P ἐπίP πᾶςA3-APM ὁRA-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSM ἀγρόςN2-DSM καίC πατάσσωVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-APM |
[44]And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them. |
| [45]καίC *αβιμελεχN--NSM παρατάσσωV1I-IMI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSF πόλιςN3I-DSF ὅλοςA1-ASF ὁRA-ASF ἡμέραN1A-ASF ἐκεῖνοςRD-ASF καίC καταλαμβάνωVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF καίC ὁRA-ASM λαόςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DSF ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S καίC κατααἱρέωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF καίC σπείρωVAI-AAI3S εἰςP ἅλςN3-APM |
[45]And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt. |
| [46]καίC ἀκούωVAI-AAI3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM πύργοςN2-GPM *συχεμN--GSM καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP συνέλευσιςN3I-ASF *βαιθηλβεριθN--GSM |
[46]And when all the men of the tower of Shechem heard that, they entered into an hold of the house of the god Berith. |
| [47]καίC ἀναἀγγέλλωVDI-API3S ὁRA-DSM *αβιμελεχN--DSM ὅτιC συνἄγωVQI-API3P πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM πύργοςN2-GPM *συχεμN--GSM |
[47]And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together. |

[48]And Abimelech gat him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said unto the people that were with him, What ye have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done. |

[49]And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the hold, and set the hold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women. |
| [50]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ἐκP *βαιθηλβεριθN--GSF καίC παρα ἐνβάλλωVBI-AAI3S ἐνP *θηβηςN--DSF καίC καταλαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASF |
[50]Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and took it. |
| [51]καίC πύργοςN2-NSM ἰσχυρόςA1A-NSM εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνP μέσοςA1-DSM ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC φεύγωVBI-AAI3P ἐκεῖD πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM καίC ὁRA-NPF γυνήN3K-NPF ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC κλείωVAI-AAI3P ἔξωθενD αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN δῶμαN3M-ASN ὁRA-GSM πύργοςN2-GSM |
[51]But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and gat them up to the top of the tower. |
| [52]καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ἕωςP ὁRA-GSM πύργοςN2-GSM καίC παρατάσσωVAI-AMI3P αὐτόςRD-DSM καίC ἐγγίζωVAI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM ἕωςP ὁRA-GSF θύραN1A-GSF ὁRA-GSM πύργοςN2-GSM ὁRA-GSN ἐνπίμπρημιVA-AAN αὐτόςRD-ASM ἐνP πῦρN3-DSN |
[52]And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire. |
| [53]καίC ῥίπτωVAI-AAI3S γυνήN3K-NSF εἷςA1A-NSF κλάσμαN3M-ASN ἐπιμυλίονN2N-GSN ἐπίP κεφαλήN1-ASF *αβιμελεχN--GSM καίC κλαίωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN κρανίονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[53]And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull. |
| [54]καίC βοάωVAI-AAI3S ταχύςA3U-ASN πρόςP ὁRA-ASN παιδάριονN2N-ASN ὁRA-ASN αἴρωV1-PAPASN ὁRA-APN σκεῦοςN3E-APN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM σπάωVA-AAD2S ὁRA-ASF ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF ἐγώRP-GS καίC θανατόωVA-AAD2S ἐγώRP-AS μήποτεD εἶπονVB-AAS3P γυνήN3K-NSF ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC ἐκκεντέωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-NSN παιδάριονN2N-NSN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S |
[54]Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A women slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died. |
| [55]καίC ὁράωVBI-AAI3S ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM ὅτιC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S *αβιμελεχN--NSM καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3P ἀνήρN3-NSM εἰςP ὁRA-ASM τόποςN2-ASM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[55]And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed every man unto his place. |
| [56]καίC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASF πονηρίαN1A-ASF *αβιμελεχN--GSM ὅςRR-ASF ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DSM πατήρN3-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀποκτείνωVA-AAN ὁRA-APM ἑβδομήκονταM ἀδελφόςN2-APM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[56]Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren: |

[57]And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal. |
