[1]And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply. |

[2]And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer? |

[3]God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that. |

[4]And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them. |

[5]And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian. |

[6]And the princes of Succoth said, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thine army? |
| [7]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM διάP οὗτοςRD-ASN ἐνP ὁRA-DSN δίδωμιVO-AAN κύριοςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM *ζεβεεN--ASM καίC *σελμαναN--ASM ἐνP χείρN3-DSF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ἐγώRP-NS ἀλοάωVF-FAI1S ὁRA-APF σάρξN3K-APF σύRP-GP ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἄκανθαN1A-DPF ὁRA-GSF ἔρημοςN2-GSF καίC ἐνP ὁRA-DPF αβαρκηνινN--DPF |
[7]And Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers. |
| [8]καίC ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ἐκεῖθενD εἰςP *φανουηλN--AS καίC λαλέωVAI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM ὡσαύτωςD καίC ἀποκρίνωVCI-API3P αὐτόςRD-DSM ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM *φανουηλN--GS ὅςRR-ASM τρόποςN2-ASM ἀποκρίνωVCI-API3P ἀνήρN3-NPM *σοκχωθN--GSF |
[8]And he went up thence to Penuel, and spake unto them likewise: and the men of Penuel answered him as the men of Succoth had answered him. |
| [9]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM πρόςP ἀνήρN3-APM *φανουηλN--GS ἐνP ἐπιστροφήN1-DSF ἐγώRP-GS μετάP εἰρήνηN1-GSF ὁRA-ASM πύργοςN2-ASM οὗτοςRD-ASM κατασκάπτωVF-FAI1S |
[9]And he spake also unto the men of Penuel, saying, When I come again in peace, I will break down this tower. |
| [10]καίC *ζεβεεN--NSM καίC *σελμαναN--NSM ἐνP *καρκαρN--DS καίC ὁRA-NSF παρεμβολήN1-NSF αὐτόςRD-GPM μετάP αὐτόςRD-GPM ὡσείC δέκαM πέντεM χιλιάςN3D-NPF πᾶςA3-NPM ὁRA-NPM καταλείπωVP-XMPNPM ἀπόP πᾶςA1S-GSF παρεμβολήN1-GSF ἀλλόφυλοςA1B-GPM καίC ὁRA-NPM πίπτωVX-XAPNPM ἑκατόνM εἴκοσιM χιλιάςN3D-NPF ἀνήρN3-GPM σπάωV3-PMPGPM ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF |
[10]Now Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword. |

[11]And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host; for the host was secure. |

[12]And when Zebah and Zalmunna fled, he pursued after them, and took the two kings of Midian, Zebah and Zalmunna, and discomfited all the host. |
| [13]καίC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωαςN--GSM ἀπόP ὁRA-GSF παράταξιςN3I-GSF ἀπόP ἐπάνωθενD ὁRA-GSF παράταξιςN3I-GSF *αρεςN--GS |
[13]And Gideon the son of Joash returned from battle before the sun was up, |
| [14]καίC συνλαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S παιδάριονN2N-ASN ἀπόP ὁRA-GPM ἀνήρN3-GPM *σοκχωθN--GSF καίC ἐπιἐρωτάωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-ASM καίC γράφωVAI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASM ὁRA-APN ὄνομαN3M-APN ὁRA-GPM ἄρχωνN3-GPM *σοκχωθN--GSF καίC ὁRA-GPM πρεσβύτεροςA1B-GPMC αὐτόςRD-GPM ἑβδομήκονταM καίC ἑπτάM ἀνήρN3-APM |
[14]And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men. |
| [15]καίC παραγίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM πρόςP ὁRA-APM ἄρχωνN3-APM *σοκχωθN--GSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ἰδούI *ζεβεεN--ASM καίC *σελμαναN--ASM ἐνP ὅςRR-DPM ὀνειδίζωVAI-AAI2P ἐγώRP-AS λέγωV1-PAPNPM μήD χείρN3-NSF *ζεβεεN--GSM καίC *σελμαναN--GSM νῦνD ἐνP χείρN3-DSF σύRP-GS ὅτιC δίδωμιVF-FAI1P ὁRA-DPM ἀνήρN3-DPM ὁRA-DPM ἐκλείπωV1-PAPDPM ἄρτοςN2-APM |
[15]And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary? |
| [16]καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM πρεσβύτεροςA1B-APMC ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF ἐνP ὁRA-DPF ἄκανθαN1A-DPF ὁRA-GSF ἔρημοςN2-GSF καίC ὁRA-DPF βαρακηνιμN--DPF καίC ἀλοάωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP αὐτόςRD-DPM ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF |
[16]And he took the elders of the city, and thorns of the wilderness and briers, and with them he taught the men of Succoth. |
| [17]καίC ὁRA-ASM πύργοςN2-ASM *φανουηλN--GS καταστρέφωVAI-AAI3S καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF |
[17]And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city. |
| [18]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP *ζεβεεN--ASM καίC *σελμαναN--ASM ποῦD ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ὅςRR-APM ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI2P ἐνP *θαβωρN--DS καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὡςD σύRP-NS ὡςC αὐτόςRD-NPM εἰςP ὁμοίωμαN3M-ASN υἱόςN2-GSM βασιλεύςN3V-GSM |
[18]Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king. |
| [19]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM ἀδελφόςN2-NPM ἐγώRP-GS καίC υἱόςN2-NPM ὁRA-GSF μήτηρN3-GSF ἐγώRP-GS εἰμίV9-IAI3P ζάωV3-PAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM εἰX ζωογονέωVXI-YAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM οὐD ἄνX ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI1S σύRP-AP |
[19]And he said, They were my brethren, even the sons of my mother: as the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you. |
| [20]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ιεθερN--NSM ὁRA-DSM πρωτότοκοςA1B-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἀναἵστημιVH-AAPNSM ἀποκτείνωVA-AAD2S αὐτόςRD-APM καίC οὐD σπάωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN παιδάριονN2N-ASN ὁRA-ASF ῥομφαίαN1A-ASF αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC φοβέωVCI-API3S ὅτιC ἔτιD νέοςA1A-NSMC εἰμίV9-IAI3S |
[20]And he said unto Jether his firstborn, Up, and slay them. But the youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a youth. |
| [21]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *ζεβεεN--NSM καίC *σελμαναN--NSM ἀναἵστημιVH-AAD2S σύRP-NS καίC συνἀντάωVA-AAD2S ἐγώRP-DP ὅτιC ὡςC ἀνήρN3-GSM ὁRA-NSF δύναμιςN3I-NSF σύRP-GS καίC ἀναἵστημιVHI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM καίC ἀποκτείνωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASM *ζεβεεN--ASM καίC ὁRA-ASM *σελμαναN--ASM καίC λαμβάνωVBI-AAI3S ὁRA-APM μηνίσκοςN2-APM ὁRA-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DPM τράχηλοςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPF κάμηλοςN2-GPF αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[21]Then Zebah and Zalmunna said, Rise thou, and fall upon us: for as the man is, so is his strength. And Gideon arose, and slew Zebah and Zalmunna, and took away the ornaments that were on their camels' necks. |
| [22]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3P ἀνήρN3-NSM *ἰσραήλN--GSM πρόςP *γεδεωνN--ASM κύριοςN2-VSM ἄρχωVA-AAD2S ἐγώRP-GP καίC σύRP-NS καίC ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM σύRP-GS ὅτιC σύRP-NS σώζωVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-AP ἐκP χείρN3-GSF *μαδιαμN--GSF |
[22]Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son's son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian. |
| [23]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM *γεδεωνN--NSM οὐD ἄρχωVF-FAI1S ἐγώRP-NS καίC οὐD ἄρχωVF-FAI3S ὁRA-NSM υἱόςN2-NSM ἐγώRP-GS ἐνP σύRP-DP κύριοςN2-NSM ἄρχωVF-FAI3S σύRP-GP |
[23]And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you. |
| [24]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM αἰτέωVF-FMI1S παράP σύRP-GP αἴτημαN3M-ASN καίC δίδωμιVO-AAD2P ἐγώRP-DS ἀνήρN3-NSM ἐνώτιονN2N-ASN ἐκP σκῦλονN2N-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC ἐνώτιονN2N-NPN χρυσοῦςA1C-NPN αὐτόςRD-DPM ὅτιC *ισμαηλίτηςN1M-NPM εἰμίV9-IAI3P |
[24]And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.) |
| [25]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P δίδωμιV8-PAPNPM δίδωμιVF-FAI1P καίC ἀναπτύσσωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN ἱμάτιονN2N-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC βάλλωVBI-AAI3S ἐκεῖD ἀνήρN3-NSM ἐνώτιονN2N-ASN σκῦλονN2N-GPN αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[25]And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey. |
| [26]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὁRA-NSM σταθμόςN2-NSM ὁRA-GPN ἐνώτιονN2N-GPN ὁRA-GPN χρυσοῦςA1C-GPN ὅςRR-GPN αἰτέωVAI-AAI3S χίλιοιA1A-NPM καίC πεντακόσιοιA1A-NPM χρυσοῦςA1C-NPM πάρεξP ὁRA-GPM μηνίσκοςN2-GPM καίC ὁRA-GPF στραγγαλίςN3D-GPF καίC ὁRA-GPN ἱμάτιονN2N-GPN καίC πορφυρίςN3I-GPF ὁRA-GPN ἐπίP βασιλεύςN3V-DPM *μαδιαμN--GSF καίC ἐκτόςP ὁRA-GPN περίθεμαN3M-GPN ὅςRR-APN εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DPM τράχηλοςN2-DPM ὁRA-GPF κάμηλοςN2-GPF αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[26]And the weight of the golden earrings that he requested was a thousand and seven hundred shekels of gold; beside ornaments, and collars, and purple raiment that was on the kings of Midian, and beside the chains that were about their camels' necks. |

[27]And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house. |
| [28]καίC συνστέλλωVDI-API3S *μαδιαμN--NSF ἐνώπιονP υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC οὐD προςτίθημιVAI-AAI3P αἴρωVA-AAN κεφαλήN1-ASF αὐτόςRD-GPM καίC ἡσυχάζωVA-AAI3S ὁRA-NSF γῆN1-NSF τεσσαράκονταM ἔτοςN3E-APN ἐνP ἡμέραN1A-DPF *γεδεωνN--GSM |
[28]Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon. |
| [29]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3S *ιεροβααλN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωαςN--GSM καίC καταἵζωVAI-AAI3S ἐνP οἶκοςN2-DSM αὐτόςRD-GSM |
[29]And Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and dwelt in his own house. |
| [30]καίC ὁRA-DSM *γεδεωνN--DSM εἰμίV9-IAI3P ἑβδομήκονταM υἱόςN2-NPM ἐκπορεύομαιVM-XMPNPM ἐκP μηρόςN2-GPM αὐτόςRD-GSM ὅτιC γυνήN3K-NPF πολύςA1A-NPF εἰμίV9-IAI3P αὐτόςRD-DSM |
[30]And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives. |
| [31]καίC παλλακήN1-NSF αὐτόςRD-GSM εἰμίV9-IAI3S ἐνP *συχεμN--DSM καίC τίκτωVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DSM καίC γέX αὐτόςRD-NSF υἱόςN2-ASM καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-ASN ὄνομαN3M-ASN αὐτόςRD-GSM *αβιμελεχN--NSM |
[31]And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech. |
| [32]καίC ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM υἱόςN2-NSM *ιωαςN--GSM ἐνP πόλιςN3I-DSF αὐτόςRD-GSM καίC θάπτωVDI-API3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSM τάφοςN2-DSM *ιωαςN--GSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM αὐτόςRD-GSM ἐνP *εφραθαN--DS *αβιεσδριN--GSM |
[32]And Gideon the son of Joash died in a good old age, and was buried in the sepulchre of Joash his father, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. |
| [33]καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S καθώςD ἀποθνήσκωVBI-AAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM καίC ἐπιστρέφωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM υἱόςN2-NPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM καίC ἐκπορνεύωVAI-AAI3P ὀπίσωP ὁRA-GPM *βααλιμN--GPM καίC τίθημιVAI-AAI3P ἑαυτοῦRD-DPM ὁRA-DSM *βααλN--DSM διαθήκηN1-ASF ὁRA-GSN εἰμίV9-PAN αὐτόςRD-DPM αὐτόςRD-ASM εἰςP θεόςN2-ASM |
[33]And it came to pass, as soon as Gideon was dead, that the children of Israel turned again, and went a whoring after Baalim, and made Baalberith their god. |

[34]And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side: |
| [35]καίC οὐD ποιέωVAI-AAI3P ἔλεοςN3E-ASN μετάP ὁRA-GSM οἶκοςN2-GSM *ιεροβααλN--GSM αὐτόςRD-NSM εἰμίV9-PAI3S *γεδεωνN--NSM κατάP πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN ἀγαθόςA1-APN ὅςRR-APN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S μετάP *ἰσραήλN--GSM |
[35]Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel. |
