| [2]And Jonas preiede to the Lord his God fro the fischis wombe, |
[2]And saidH559[H8799], I criedH7121[H8804] by reason of mine afflictionH6869 unto the LORDH3068, and he heardH6030[H8799] me; out of the bellyH990 of hellH7585 criedH7768[H8765] I, and thou heardestH8085[H8804] my voiceH6963. |
| [3]and seide, Y criede to God of my tribulacioun, and he herde me; fro the wombe of helle Y criede, and thou herdist my vois. |
[3]For thou hadst castH7993[H8686] me into the deepH4688, in the midstH3824 of the seasH3220; and the floodsH5104 compassedH5437[H8779] me about: all thy billowsH4867 and thy wavesH1530 passed overH5674 meH8804. |
| [4]Thou castidist me doun in to depnesse, in the herte of the see, and the flood cumpasside me; alle thi swolowis and thi wawis passiden on me. |
[4]Then I saidH559[H8804], I am cast outH1644[H8738] of thy sightH5869; yet I will lookH5027[H8687] againH3254[H8686] toward thy holyH6944 templeH1964. |
| [5]And Y seide, Y am cast awei fro siyt of thin iyen; netheles eftsoone Y schal see thin hooli temple. |
[5]The watersH4325 compassed me aboutH661[H8804], even to the soulH5315: the depthH8415 closed me round aboutH5437[H8779], the weedsH5488 were wrapped aboutH2280[H8803] my headH7218. |
| [6]Watris cumpassiden me `til to my soule, depnesse enuyrownede me, the see hilide myn heed. |
[6]I went downH3381[H8804] to the bottomsH7095 of the mountainsH2022; the earthH776 with her barsH1280 was about me for everH5769: yet hast thou brought upH5927[H8686] my lifeH2416 from corruptionH7845, O LORDH3068 my GodH430. |
| [7]Y wente doun to the vtmeste places of hillis, the barris of erthe closiden me togidere, in to withouten ende; and thou, my Lord God, schalt reise vp my lijf fro corrupcioun. |
[7]When my soulH5315 faintedH5848[H8692] within me I rememberedH2142[H8804] the LORDH3068: and my prayerH8605 came inH935[H8799] unto thee, into thine holyH6944 templeH1964. |
| [8]Whanne my soule was angwisched in me, Y bithouyte on the Lord, that my preier come to thee, to thin hooli temple. |

| [9]Thei that kepen vanytees, forsaken his merci idili. |

| [10]But Y in vois of heriyng schal offre to thee; what euer thingis Y vowide, Y schal yelde to the Lord, for myn helthe. |
[10]And the LORDH3068 spakeH559[H8799] unto the fishH1709, and it vomited outH6958[H8686] JonahH3124 upon the dry landH3004. |
