[1]Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses minister, saying, |
| [2]MosesH4872 my servantH5650 is deadH4191[H8804]; now therefore ariseH6965[H8798], go overH5674[H8798] this JordanH3383, thou, and all this peopleH5971, unto the landH776 which I do giveH5414[H8802] to them, even to the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. |
[2]Moses my servant is dead: now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I give them, that is, to the children of Israel. |
| [3]Every placeH4725 that the soleH3709 of your footH7272 shall tread uponH1869[H8799], that have I givenH5414[H8804] unto you, as I saidH1696[H8765] unto MosesH4872. |
[3]Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, have I given you, as I said unto Moses. |
| [4]From the wildernessH4057 and this LebanonH3844 even unto the greatH1419 riverH5104, the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578, all the landH776 of the HittitesH2850, and unto the greatH1419 seaH3220 toward the going downH3996 of the sunH8121, shall be your coastH1366. |
[4]From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Perath: all the land of the Hittites, even unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. |
| [5]There shall not any manH376 be able to standH3320[H8691] beforeH6440 thee all the daysH3117 of thy lifeH2416: as I was with MosesH4872, so I will be with thee: I will not failH7503[H8686] thee, nor forsakeH5800 theeH8799. |
[5]There shall not a man be able to withstand thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leave thee, nor forsake thee. |
| [6]Be strongH2388[H8798] and of a good courageH553[H8798]: for unto this peopleH5971 shalt thou divide for an inheritanceH5157[H8686] the landH776, which I swareH7650[H8738] unto their fathersH1 to giveH5414 themH8800. |
[6]Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide the land for an inheritance, which I swear unto their fathers to give them. |

[7]Only be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest observe and do according to all the law which Moses my servant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turn away from it to the right hand, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. |

[8]Let not this book of the law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe and do according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou have good success. |

[9]Have not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be discouraged? For I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoever thou goest. |

[10]Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, |
| [11]PassH5674[H8798] throughH7130 the hostH4264, and commandH6680[H8761] the peopleH5971, sayingH559[H8800], PrepareH3559[H8685] you victualsH6720; for within threeH7969 daysH3117 ye shall pass overH5674[H8802] this JordanH3383, to go inH935[H8800] to possessH3423[H8800] the landH776, which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 givethH5414[H8802] you to possessH3423 itH8800. |
[11]Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals: for after three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it. |
| [12]And to the ReubenitesH7206, and to the GaditesH1425, and to halfH2677 the tribeH7626 of ManassehH4519, spakeH559[H8804] JoshuaH3091, sayingH559,[H8800] |
[12]And unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh spake Joshua, saying, |
| [13]RememberH2142[H8800] the wordH1697 which MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of the LORDH3068 commandedH6680[H8765] you, sayingH559[H8800], The LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath given you restH5117[H8688], and hath givenH5414[H8804] you this landH776. |
[13]Remember the word, which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land. |
| [14]Your wivesH802, your little onesH2945, and your cattleH4735, shall remainH3427[H8799] in the landH776 which MosesH4872 gaveH5414[H8804] you on this sideH5676 JordanH3383; but ye shall passH5674[H8799] beforeH6440 your brethrenH251 armedH2571, all the mightyH1368 men of valourH2428, and helpH5826 themH8804; |
[14]Your wives, your children, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan: but ye shall go over before your brethren armed, all that be men of war, and shall help them, |
| [15]Until the LORDH3068 have givenH5117 your brethrenH251 restH5117[H8686], as he hath given you, and they also have possessedH3423[H8804] the landH776 which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 givethH5414[H8802] them: then ye shall returnH7725[H8804] unto the landH776 of your possessionH3425, and enjoyH3423[H8804] it, which MosesH4872 the LORD'SH3068 servantH5650 gaveH5414[H8804] you on this sideH5676 JordanH3383 toward the sunrisingH4217.[H8121] |
[15]Until the Lord have given your brethren rest, as well as to you, and until they also shall possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth them: then shall ye return unto the land of your possession and shall possess it, which land Moses the Lord's servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sun rising. |
| [16]And they answeredH6030[H8799] JoshuaH3091, sayingH559[H8800], All that thou commandestH6680[H8765] us we will doH6213[H8799], and whithersoeverH834 thou sendestH7971[H8799] us, we will goH3212.[H8799] |
[16]Then they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us, we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go. |
| [17]According as we hearkenedH8085[H8804] unto MosesH4872 in all things, so will we hearkenH8085[H8799] unto thee: only the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 be with thee, as he was with MosesH4872. |
[17]As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses. |
| [18]WhosoeverH376 he be that doth rebelH4784[H8686] against thy commandmentH6310, and will not hearkenH8085[H8799] unto thy wordsH1697 in all that thou commandestH6680[H8762] him, he shall be put to deathH4191[H8714]: only be strongH2388[H8798] and of a good courageH553.[H8798] |
[18]Whosoever shall rebel against thy commandment, and will not obey thy words in all that thou commandest him, let him be put to death: only be strong and of good courage. |
