[1]And the whole congregation of the children of Israel came together at Silo, and set vp the tabernacle of the congregation there, after the land was in subiection before them [1]And the whole congregation of the children of Israel came together at Shiloh: for they set up the tabernacle of the congregation there, after the land was subject unto them.
[2]And there remained among the children of Israel seuen tribes, which had not yet receaued their enheritaunce [2]Now there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, to whom they had not divided their inheritance.
[3]And Iosuah sayde vnto the children of Israel: Howe long are ye so slacke to come and possesse the lande whiche the Lord God of your fathers hath geuen you [3]Therefore Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye so slack to enter and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?
[4]Geue out from among you for euery tribe three men, that I may sende them: and that they may ryse, and walke through the lande, and distribute it accordyng to the inheritaunce therof, & come againe to me [4]Give from among you for every tribe three men, that I may send them, and that they may rise, and walk through the land, and distribute it according to their inheritance, and return to me.
[5]And let them deuide it vnto them into seuen partes: And (Iuda shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Ioseph shall stande in their coastes on the north. [5]And that they may divide it unto them into seven parts, (Judah shall abide in his coast at the south, and the house of Joseph shall stand in their coasts at the north)
[6]Describe ye the lande therfore into seuen partes, and bryng the description hyther to me: and I shall cast lottes for you here before the Lord our God [6]Ye shall describe the land therefore into seven parts, and shall bring them hither to me, and I will cast lots for you here before the Lord our God.
[7]But the Leuites haue no part among you, for the priesthood of the Lorde is their inheritaunce: And Gad, and Ruben, and halfe the tribe of Manasses, haue receaued their inheritaunce beyond Iordan eastward, which Moyses the seruaunt of the Lord gaue them [7]But the Levites shall have no part among you: for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: also Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.
[8]And the men arose, and went their waye: And Iosuah charged them that went to describe the lande, saying: Depart, and go through the lande, and describe it, and come againe to me, that I may here cast lottes for you before the Lorde in Silo [8]Then the men arose, and went their way: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Depart, and go through the land, and describe it, and return to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh.
[9]And the men departed, and walked through the lande, and described it by cities into seuen partes in a booke, and returned to Iosuah into ye hoast at Silo [9]So the men departed, and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and returned to Joshua into the camp at Shiloh.
[10]And Iosuah cast lottes for them in Silo before the Lorde: & there Iosuah diuided the lande vnto the children of Israel, to eche their portion [10]Then Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord, and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel, according to their portions:
[11]And the lot of the tribe of the children of Beniamin came vp according to their kinredes: And the coast of their lot came betweene the children of Iuda, and the children of Ioseph [11]And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came forth according to their families, and the coast of their lot lay between the children of Judah, and the children of Joseph.
[12]And their north coast was from Iordane, & went vp to the side of Iericho on the north side, and went vp through the mountaines westwarde, and they ended at the wildernesse of Bethauen [12]And their coast on the north side was from Jordan, and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north part, and went up through the mountains westward, and the ends thereof are in the wilderness of Beth-aven:
[13]And went from thence toward Luz, euen to the south side of Luz (the same is Bethel) & descended againe to Ataroth Adar, vnto the hyll that lyeth on the south side of ye neather Bethhoron [13]And this border goeth along from thence to Luz, even to the south side of Luz (the same is Beth-el) and this border descendeth to Ataroth-adar, near the mount, that lieth on the south side of Beth-horon the nether.
[14]And the coast turneth thence, & compasseth the corner of the sea southward, euen from the hyll that lyeth before Bethhoron southward, and goeth out at Kiriathbaal (which is Kiriath Iarim) a citie of the childre of Iuda: This is the west quarter [14]So the border turneth, and compasseth the corner of the sea southward, from the mount that lieth before Beth-horon southward: and the ends thereof are at Kirjath-baal (which is Kirjath-jearim) a city of the children of Judah: this is the west quarter.
[15]And the south coast goeth from the ende of Kiriathiarim, and goeth out westwarde, and thence it turneth to the well of waters of Nephthoah [15]And the south quarter is from the end of Kirjath-jearim, and this border goeth out westward and cometh to the fountain of waters of Nephtoah.
[16]And commeth downe againe to the end of the hyll that lyeth before the valley of the sonne of Hennom, euen in the valley of the giauntes northwarde, and descendeth into the valley of Hennom beside Iebusi southward, & goeth downe to the well of Rogel [16]And this border descendeth at the end of the mountain, that lieth before the valley of Ben-hinnom, which is in the valley of the giants northward, and descendeth into the valley of Hinnom by the side of Jebusi southward, and goeth down to En-rogel,
[17]And compasseth from the north, and goeth foorth to En shemesh, and departeth from thence to the places of Geliloth, whiche are towarde the going vp vnto Adommim: and goeth downe to the stone of Bohan the sonne of Ruben [17]And compasseth from the north, and goeth forth to En-shemesh, and stretcheth to Geliloth, which is toward the going up unto Adummim, and goeth down to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
[18]And then goeth along toward the side of the plaine northward, and goeth downe into the fieldes [18]So it goeth along to the side over against the plain northward, and goeth down into the plain.
[19]And goeth along to the syde of Bethhagla northwarde, and endureth the poynt of the salt sea north therefrom, [euen] at the south ende of Iordane: This is the south coast [19]After, this border goeth along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward: and the ends thereof, that is, of the border, reach to the point of the salt sea northward, and to the end of Jordan southward: this is the south coast.
[20]And Iordane kepeth in this coast on the east syde: And this is the inheritaunce of the chyldren of Beniamin by their coastes rounde about, throughout their kinredes [20]Also Jordan is the border of it on the east side: this is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin by the coasts thereof round about according to their families.
[21]These were the cities of the tribes of the chyldren of Beniamin throughout their kinredes: Iericho, Bethhagla, and the plaine of Casis [21]Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families are Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz,
[22]Betharabah, Samaraim, and Bethel [22]And Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el,
[23]Auim, Parah, and Ophrah [23]And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,
[24]Haamonai, Ophni, & Gaba, twelue cities with their villages [24]And Chephar, Ammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba: twelve cities with their villages.
[25]Gabaon, Ramah, Beeroth [25]Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,
[26]Mispeh, Chephirah, and Mosah [26]And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
[27]Recem, Iarephel, and Tharela [27]And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,
[28]Sela, Eleph, and Iebusi (which is Hierusalem) Gibath, and Ciriath, fourteene cities with their villages. This is the inheritaunce of the chyldren of Beniamin throughout their kinredes [28]And Zela, Eleph, and Jebusi, (which is Jerusalem) Gibeath, and Kirjath: fourteen cities with their villages: this is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
