[1]Then Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go, view the land, and also Jericho: and they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there. |
| [2]καίC ἀποἀγγέλλωVDI-API3S ὁRA-DSM βασιλεύςN3V-DSM *ιεριχωN--GSF λέγωV1-PAPNPM εἰςπορεύομαιVM-XMI3P ὧδεD ἀνήρN3-NPM ὁRA-GPM υἱόςN2-GPM *ἰσραήλN--GSM κατασκοπεύωVA-AAN ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF |
[2]Then report was made to the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men hither tonight, of the children of Israel, to spy out the country. |
| [3]καίC ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-NSM βασιλεύςN3V-NSM *ιεριχωN--GSF καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP *ρααβN--AS λέγωV1-PAPNSM ἐκἄγωVB-AAD2S ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM ὁRA-APM εἰςπορεύομαιVM-XMPAPM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF οἰκίαN1A-ASF σύRP-GS ὁRA-ASF νύξN3-ASF κατασκοπεύωVA-AAN γάρX ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ἥκωV1-PAI3P |
[3]And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, and which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the land. |
| [4]καίC λαμβάνωVB-AAPNSF ὁRA-NSF γυνήN3K-NSF ὁRA-APM ἀνήρN3-APM κρύπτωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM λέγωV1-PAPNSF εἰςἔρχομαιVX-XAI3P πρόςP ἐγώRP-AS ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM |
[4](But the woman had taken the two men, and hid them) Therefore said she thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were. |
| [5]ὡςC δέX ὁRA-NSF πύληN1-NSF κλείωV1I-IMI3S ἐνP ὁRA-DSN σκότοςN3E-DSN καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P οὐD ἐπίσταμαιV6-PMI1S ποῦD πορεύομαιVM-XMI3P καταδιώκωVA-AAD2P ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GPM εἰC καταλαμβάνωVF-FMI2P αὐτόςRD-APM |
[5]And when they shut the gate in the dark, the men went out, whither the men went I wot not: follow ye after them quickly, for ye shall overtake them. |
| [6]αὐτόςRD-NSF δέX ἀναβιβάζωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN δῶμαN3M-ASN καίC κρύπτωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM ἐνP ὁRA-DSF λινοκαλάμηN1-DSF ὁRA-DSF στοιβάζωVT-XPPDSF αὐτόςRD-DSF ἐπίP ὁRA-GSN δῶμαN3M-GSN |
[6](But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had spread abroad upon the roof) |
| [7]καίC ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM καταδιώκωVAI-AAI3P ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GPM ὁδόςN2-ASF ὁRA-ASF ἐπίP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM ἐπίP ὁRA-APF διάβασιςN3I-APF καίC ὁRA-NSF πύληN1-NSF κλείωVSI-API3S καίC γίγνομαιVBI-AMI3S ὡςC ἐκἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM διώκωV1-PAPNPM ὀπίσωP αὐτόςRD-GPM |
[7]And certain men pursued after them, the way to Jordan, unto the fords, and as soon as they which pursued after them, were gone out, they shut the gate. |
| [8]καίC αὐτόςRD-NPM δέX πρίνD ἤC κοιμάωVC-APN αὐτόςRD-APM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSF ἀναβαίνωVZI-AAI3S ἐπίP ὁRA-ASN δῶμαN3M-ASN πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM |
[8]And before they were asleep, she came up unto them upon the roof, |
| [9]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S πρόςP αὐτόςRD-APM ἐπίσταμαιV6-PMI1S ὅτιC δίδωμιVX-XAI3S σύRP-DP κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ἐπιπίπτωVX-XAI3S γάρX ὁRA-NSM φόβοςN2-NSM σύRP-GP ἐπίP ἐγώRP-AP |
[9]And said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that the fear of you is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. |
| [10]ἀκούωVX-XAI1P γάρX ὅτιC καταξηραίνωVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM ὁRA-ASF ἐρυθρόςA1A-ASF θάλασσαN1S-ASF ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN σύRP-GP ὅτεD ἐκπορεύομαιV1I-IMI2P ἐκP γῆN1-GSF *αἴγυπτοςN2-GSF καίC ὅσοςA1-APN ποιέωVAI-AAI3S ὁRA-DPM δύοM--DPM βασιλεύςN3V-DPM ὁRA-GPM *ἀμορραῖοςN2-GPM ὅςRR-NPM εἰμίV9-IAI3P πέρανP ὁRA-GSM *ἰορδάνηςN1M-GSM ὁRA-DSM *σηωνN--DS καίC *ωγN--DS ὅςRR-APM ἐκὀλεθρεύωVAI-AAI2P αὐτόςRD-APM |
[10]For we have heard, how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt, and what you did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, unto Sihon and to Og, whom ye utterly destroyed: |
| [11]καίC ἀκούωVA-AAPNPM ἐγώRP-NP ἐκἵστημιVHI-AAI1P ὁRA-DSF καρδίαN1A-DSF ἐγώRP-GP καίC οὐD ἵστημιVHI-AAI3S ἔτιD πνεῦμαN3M-NSN ἐνP οὐδείςA3-DSM ἐγώRP-GP ἀπόP πρόσωπονN2N-GSN σύRP-GP ὅτιC κύριοςN2-NSM ὁRA-NSM θεόςN2-NSM σύRP-GP θεόςN2-NSM ἐνP οὐρανόςN2-DSM ἄνωD καίC ἐπίP ὁRA-GSF γῆN1-GSF κάτωD |
[11]And when we heard it, our hearts did faint, and there remained no more courage in any because of you: for the Lord your God, he is the God in heaven above, and in earth beneath. |
| [12]καίC νῦνD ὄμνυμιVA-AAD2P ἐγώRP-DS κύριοςN2-ASM ὁRA-ASM θεόςN2-ASM ὅτιC ποιέωV2-PAI1S σύRP-DP ἔλεοςN3E-ASN καίC ποιέωVF-FAI2P καίD σύRP-NP ἔλεοςN3E-ASN ἐνP ὁRA-DSM οἶκοςN2-DSM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS |
[12]Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord; that as I have showed you mercy, ye will also show mercy unto my father's house, and give me a true token, |
| [13]καίC ζωγρέωVF-FAI2P ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM ἐγώRP-GS καίC ὁRA-ASF μήτηρN3-ASF ἐγώRP-GS καίC ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM ἐγώRP-GS καίC πᾶςA3-ASM ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ἐγώRP-GS καίC πᾶςA3-APN ὅσοςA1-NPN εἰμίV9-PAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM καίC ἐκαἱρέωVF2-FMI2P ὁRA-ASF ψυχήN1-ASF ἐγώRP-GS ἐκP θάνατοςN2-GSM |
[13]And that ye will save alive my father and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have: and that ye will deliver our souls from death. |
| [14]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P αὐτόςRD-DSF ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM ὁRA-NSF ψυχήN1-NSF ἐγώRP-GP ἀντίP σύRP-GP εἰςP θάνατοςN2-ASM καίC αὐτόςRD-NSF εἶπονVBI-AAI3S ὡςC ἄνX παραδίδωμιVO-AAS3S κύριοςN2-NSM σύRP-DP ὁRA-ASF πόλιςN3I-ASF ποιέωVF-FAI2P εἰςP ἐγώRP-AS ἔλεοςN3E-ASN καίC ἀλήθειαN1A-ASF |
[14]And the men answered her, Our life for you to die, if ye utter not this our business: and when the Lord hath given us the land, we will deal mercifully and truly with thee. |
| [15]καίC καταχαλάωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM διάP ὁRA-GSF θυρίςN3D-GSF |
[15]Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. |
| [16]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ὀρεινήN1-ASF ἀποἔρχομαιVB-AAD2P μήD συνἀντάωVA-AAS3P σύRP-DP ὁRA-NPM καταδιώκωV1-PAPNPM καίC κρύπτωVD-FPI2P ἐκεῖD τρεῖςA3-APF ἡμέραN1A-APF ἕωςC ἄνX ἀποστρέφωVA-AAS3P ὁRA-NPM καταδιώκωV1-PAPNPM ὀπίσωP σύRP-GP καίC μετάP οὗτοςRD-APN ἀποἔρχομαιVF-FMI2P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ὁδόςN2-ASF σύRP-GP |
[16]And she said unto them, Go you into the mountain, lest the pursuers meet with you, and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: then afterward may ye go your way. |
| [17]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM ἀνήρN3-NPM πρόςP αὐτόςRD-ASF ἀθῷοςA1B-NPM εἰμίV9-PAI1P ὁRA-DSM ὅρκοςN2-DSM σύRP-GS οὗτοςRD-DSM |
[17]And the men said unto her, We will be blameless of this thine oath, which thou hast made us swear. |
| [18]ἰδούI ἐγώRP-NP εἰςπορεύομαιV1-PMI1P εἰςP μέροςN3E-ASN ὁRA-GSF πόλιςN3I-GSF καίC τίθημιVF-FAI2S ὁRA-ASN σημεῖονN2-ASN ὁRA-ASN σπαρτίονN2-ASN ὁRA-ASN κόκκινοςA1-ASN οὗτοςRD-ASN ἐκδέωVF-FAI2S εἰςP ὁRA-ASF θυρίςN3D-ASF διάP ὅςRR-GSF καταβιβάζωVAI-AAI2S ἐγώRP-AP διάP αὐτόςRD-GSF ὁRA-ASM δέX πατήρN3-ASM σύRP-GS καίC ὁRA-ASF μήτηρN3-ASF σύRP-GS καίC ὁRA-APM ἀδελφόςN2-APM σύRP-GS καίC πᾶςA3-ASM ὁRA-ASM οἶκοςN2-ASM ὁRA-GSM πατήρN3-GSM σύRP-GS συνἄγωVF-FAI2S πρόςP σεαυτοῦRD-ASF εἰςP ὁRA-ASF οἰκίαN1A-ASF σύRP-GS |
[18]Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this cord of red thread in the window, whereby thou lettest us down, and thou shalt bring thy father and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household home to thee. |
| [19]καίC εἰμίVF-FMI3S πᾶςA3-NSM ὅςRR-NSM ἄνX ἐκἔρχομαιVB-AAS3S ὁRA-ASF θύραN1A-ASF ὁRA-GSF οἰκίαN1A-GSF σύRP-GS ἔξωD ἔνοχοςA1B-NSM ἑαυτοῦRD-DSM εἰμίVF-FMI3S ἐγώRP-NP δέX ἀθῷοςA1-NPM ὁRA-DSM ὅρκοςN2-DSM σύRP-GS οὗτοςRD-DSM καίC ὅσοςA1-NPM ἐάνC γίγνομαιVB-AMS3P μετάP σύRP-GS ἐνP ὁRA-DSF οἰκίαN1A-DSF σύRP-GS ἐγώRP-NP ἔνοχοςA1B-NPM εἰμίVF-FMI1P |
[19]And whosoever then doth go out at the doors of thine house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be guiltless: but whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand touch him: |
| [20]ἐάνC δέX τιςRI-NSM ἐγώRP-AP ἀδικέωVA-AAS3S ἤC καίD ἀποκαλύπτωVA-AAS3S ὁRA-APM λόγοςN2-APM ἐγώRP-GP οὗτοςRD-APM εἰμίVF-FMI1P ἀθῷοςA1-NPM ὁRA-DSM ὅρκοςN2-DSM σύRP-GS οὗτοςRD-DSM |
[20]And if thou utter this our matter, we will be quit of thine oath, which thou hast made us swear. |
| [21]καίC εἶπονVBI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-DPM κατάP ὁRA-ASN ῥῆμαN3M-ASN σύRP-GP οὕτωςD εἰμίV9-PAD3S καίC ἐκ ἀποστέλλωVAI-AAI3S αὐτόςRD-APM |
[21]And she answered, According unto your words, so be it: then she sent them away, and they departed, and she bound the red cord in the window. |
| [22]καίC πορεύομαιVCI-API3P καίC ἔρχομαιVBI-AAI3P εἰςP ὁRA-ASF ὀρεινήN1-ASF καίC καταμένωVAI-AAI3P ἐκεῖD τρεῖςA3-APF ἡμέραN1A-APF καίC ἐκζητέωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM καταδιώκωV1-PAPNPM πᾶςA1S-APF ὁRA-APF ὁδόςN2-APF καίC οὐD εὑρίσκωVA-AAI3P |
[22]And they departed, and came into the mountain, and there abode three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not. |
| [23]καίC ὑποστρέφωVAI-AAI3P ὁRA-NPM δύοM νεανίσκοςN2-NPM καίC καταβαίνωVZI-AAI3P ἐκP ὁRA-GSN ὄροςN3E-GSN καίC διαβαίνωVZI-AAI3P πρόςP *ἰησοῦςN--ASM υἱόςN2-ASM *ναυηN--GS καίC διαἡγέομαιVAI-AMI3P αὐτόςRD-DSM πᾶςA3-APN ὁRA-APN συνβαίνωVX-XAPAPN αὐτόςRD-DPM |
[23]So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that came unto them. |
| [24]καίC εἶπονVAI-AAI3P πρόςP *ἰησοῦςN--ASM ὅτιC παραδίδωμιVAI-AAI3S κύριοςN2-NSM πᾶςA1S-ASF ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ἐνP χείρN3-DSF ἐγώRP-GP καίC καταπτήσσωVX-XAI3S πᾶςA3-NSM ὁRA-NSM καταοἰκέωV2-PAPNSM ὁRA-ASF γῆN1-ASF ἐκεῖνοςRD-ASF ἀπόP ἐγώRP-GP |
[24]Also they said unto Joshua, Surely the Lord hath delivered into our hands all the land: for even all the inhabitants of the country faint because of us. |
