| [1]קריב הוא דינ עדעדא דפטירא דמתקרא פצחא |
[1]NOW the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the passover, was at hand. |
| [2]ובעינ הוו רבי כהנא וספרא דאיכנא נקטלוניהי דחלינ הוו גיר מנ עמא |
[2]And the high priests and the scribes sought how to kill him; but they were afraid of the people. |
| [3]על הוא דינ סטנא ביהודא דמתקרא סכריוטא דאיתוהי הוא מנ מנינא דתרעסר |
[3]But Satan had taken possession of Judas who is called of Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. |
| [4]ואזל מלל עמ רבי כהנא וספרא ורבי חילא דהיכלא איכ דנשׁלמיוהי להונ |
[4]So he went away, and spoke with the high priests and the scribes and officers of the temple, about delivering him to them. |
| [5]וחדיו ואקימו דנתלונ לה כספא |
[5]And they were glad and promised to give him money. |
| [6]ואשׁתודי להונ ובעא הוא פלעא דנשׁלמיוהי להונ בלעד מנ כנשׁא |
[6]And he agreed with them, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the people. |
| [7]ומטי יומא דפטירא דבה אית הוא עידא דנתנכס פצחא |
[7]Then the day of unleavened bread came, on which it was the custom to kill the passover lamb. |
| [8]ושׁדר ישׁוע לכאפא וליוחננ ואמר להונ זלו טיבו לנ פצחא דנלעס |
[8]So Jesus sent Peter and John, and said to them, Go and prepare the passover for us to eat. |
| [9]הנונ דינ אמרו לה איכא צבא אנת דנטיב |
[9]They said to him, Where do you wish us to prepare? |
| [10]אמר להונ הא מא דעאלינ אנתונ למדינתא פגע בכונ גברא דשׁקיל גרבא דמיא זלו בתרה |
[10]He said to them, Behold, when you enter the city, you will meet a man carrying a skin full of water; follow him. And wherever he enters, |
| [11]ואיכא דעאל אמרו למרה דביתא רבנ אמר אינו בית משׁריא איכא דאכול פצחא עמ תלמידי |
[11]Say to the master of the house, Our Teacher says, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? |
| [12]והא הו מחוא לכונ עליתא חדא רבתא דמשׁויא תמנ טיבו |
[12]And behold, he will show you an upper room, large and furnished; there make ready. |
| [13]ואזלו אשׁכחו איכ דאמר להונ וטיבו פצחא |
[13]And they went and found just as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover. |
| [14]וכד הוא עדנא אתא ישׁוע אסתמכ ותרעסר שׁליחא עמה |
[14]And when the time came, Jesus came and sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. |
| [15]ואמר להונ רגתא רגתני דהנא פצחא אכול עמכונ קדמ דאחשׁ |
[15]And he said to them, I have desired with desire to eat this passover with you before I suffer; |
| [16]אמר אנא לכונ גיר דמכיל לא אכליוהי עדמא דנשׁלמ במלכותה דאלהא |
[16]For I say to you, that henceforth, I will not eat it, until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. |
| [17]ונסב כסא ואודי ואמר סבו הנא ופלגו בינתכונ |
[17]And he took the cup and gave thanks and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves. |
| [18]אמר אנא גיר לכונ דלא אשׁתא מנ ילדא דגפתא עדמא דתאתא מלכותא דאלהא |
[18]For I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. |
| [19]ונסב לחמא ואודי וקצא ויהב להונ ואמר הנו פגרי דעל אפיכונ מתיהב הדא הויתונ עבדינ לדוכרני |
[19]And he took bread and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them and said, This is my body, which is given for your sake; this do in remembrance of me. |
| [20]והכות אפ על כסא מנ בתר דאחשׁמו אמר הנא כסא דיתקא חדתא בדמי דחלפיכונ מתאשׁד |
[20]And likewise also the cup, after they had eaten the supper, he said, This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. |
| [21]ברמ הא אידה דמשׁלמני על פתורא |
[21]But behold, the hand of him who is to betray me is on the table. |
| [22]וברה דאנשׁא אזל איכנא דאתפרשׁ ברמ וי להו גברא דבאידה משׁתלמ |
[22]And the Son of man will go, just as he has been destined; but woe to the man by whose hand he will be betrayed! |
| [23]ושׁריו דנעקבונ בינתהונ דמנו כי מנהונ הו דהדא עתיד למסער |
[23]And they began to enquire among themselves, which one of them was to do this act. |
| [24]הוא דינ אפ חרינא בינתהונ דמנ אית בהונ דרב |
[24]There was also a dispute among them, as to who is the greatest among them. |
| [25]הו דינ ישׁוע אמר להונ מלכיהונ דעממא מריהונ אנונ ודשׁליטינ עליהונ עבדי טבתא מתקרינ |
[25]Jesus said to them, The kings of the Gentiles are also their owners; and those who rule over them are called benefactors. |
| [26]אנתונ דינ לא הכנא אלא אינא דרב בכונ נהוא איכ זעורא ואינא דרשׁא הו איכ משׁמשׁנא |
[26]But not so with you; but he who is great among you, let him be the least, and he who is a leader be like a minister. |
| [27]מנו גיר רב הו דסמיכ או הו דמשׁמשׁ לא הוא הו דסמיכ אנא דינ איתי בינתכונ איכ הו דמשׁמשׁ |
[27]For who is greater, he who sits down or he who serves? Is it not he who sits down? but I am among you as one who serves. |
| [28]אנתונ אנונ דינ דכתרתונ לותי בנסיוני |
[28]You are those who have remained with me, throughout my trials. |
| [29]ואנא משׁתודא אנא לכונ איכ דאשׁתודי לי אבי מלכותא |
[29]And I promise you, just as my Father has promised me, a kingdom, |
| [30]דתאכלונ ותשׁתונ על פתורא דמלכותא דילי ותתבונ על כורסותא ותדונונ תרעסר שׁבטא דאיסריל |
[30]That you may eat and drink at the table in my kingdom; and you will sit on chairs, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| [31]ואמר ישׁוע לשׁמעונ שׁמעונ הא סטנא שׁאל דנערובכונ איכ דלחטא |
[31]And Jesus said to Simon, Simon, behold Satan wants to sift all of you as wheat; |
| [32]ואנא בעית עליכ דלא תחסר הימנותכ אפ אנת בזבנ אתפני ושׁרר אחיכ |
[32]But I have made supplication for you that your faith may not weaken; and even you in time will repent, and strengthen your brethren. |
| [33]שׁמעונ דינ אמר לה מרי עמכ מטיב אנא ולבית אסירא ולמותא |
[33]Simon said to him, My Lord, I am ready with you, even for the prison and for death. |
| [34]אמר לה ישׁוע אמר אנא לכ שׁמעונ דלא נקרא תרנגלא יומנא עדמא דתלת זבנינ תכפור דלא ידע אנת לי |
[34]Jesus said to him, I say to you, Simon, the cock will not crow today, until you have denied three times that you know me. |
| [35]ואמר להונ כד שׁדרתכונ דלא כיסא ודלא תרמלא ומסנא למא חסר לכונ מדמ אמרינ לה ולא מדמ |
[35]And he said to them, When I sent you out without purses, and without bags, and shoes, did you lack anything? They said to him, Not a thing. |
| [36]אמר להונ מנ השׁא מנ דאית לה כיסא נסב והכנא אפ תרמלא ומנ דלית לה סיפא נזבנ נחתה ונזבנ לה סיפא |
[36]He said to them, From now on he who has purses, let him take them, and the bag likewise; and he who has no sword, let him sell his robe and buy for himself a sword. |
| [37]אמר אנא לכונ גיר דאפ הדא דכתיבא ולא דתתמלא בי דעמ עולא אתמנא כלהינ גיר דעלי אשׁתלמ |
[37]For I say to you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, He will be numbered among the wicked; for all the things concerning me will be fulfilled. |
| [38]והנונ אמרינ לה מרנ הא הרכא אית תרינ סיפינ אמר להונ ספקינ |
[38]And they said to him, Our Lord, behold here are two swords. He said to them, That is enough. |
| [39]ונפק ואזל איכ דמעד הוא לטורא דבית זיתא ואזלו בתרה אפ תלמידוהי |
[39]And he went out and went away, as it was his custom, to the Mount of the Home of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. |
| [40]וכד מטי לדוכתא אמר להונ צלו דלא תעלונ לנסיונא |
[40]And when he arrived at a place, he said to them, Pray that you may not enter into temptation. |
| [41]והו פרק מנהונ איכ משׁדא כאפא וסמ בורכוהי ומצלא הוא |
[41]And he separated from them, about the distance of a stone's throw, and he kneeled down, and prayed, |
| [42]ואמר אבא אנ צבא אנת נעברני כסא הנא ברמ לא צביני אלא דילכ נהוא |
[42]Saying, O Father, if you will, let this cup pass from me; but not as I will, but your will be done. |
| [43]ואתחזי לה מלאכא מנ שׁמיא דמחיל לה |
[43]And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, to strengthen him. |
| [44]וכד הוא בדחלתא תכיבאית מצלא הוא והות דועתה איכ שׁלתא דדמא ונפל על ארעא |
[44]And he was in fear, and prayed earnestly; and his sweat became like drops of blood; and he fell down upon the ground. |
| [45]וקמ מנ צלותה ואתא לות תלמידוהי ואשׁכח אנונ כד דמכינ מנ עקתא |
[45]Then he rose up from his prayer, and came to his disciples, and found them sleeping because of distress. |
| [46]ואמר להונ מנא דמכינ אנתונ קומו צלו דלא תעלונ לנסיונא |
[46]And he said to them, Why do you sleep? rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation. |
| [47]ועד הו ממלל הא כנשׁא והו דמתקרא יהודא חד מנ תרעסר אתא קדמיהונ וקרב לות ישׁוע ונשׁקה הדא גיר אתא יהב הוא להונ דאינא דנשׁק אנא הויו |
[47]While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, coming before them; and he drew near to Jesus and kissed him. For this was the sign he had given them, He whom I kiss, it is he. |
| [48]אמר לה ישׁוע יהודא בנושׁקתא משׁלמ אנת לה לברה דאנשׁא |
[48]Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss? |
| [49]כד חזו דינ אילינ דעמה מדמ דהוא אמרינ לה מרנ נמחא אנונ בסיפא |
[49]When those who were with him saw what happened, they said to him, Our Lord, shall we smite them with swords? |
| [50]ומחא חד מנהונ לעבדה דרב כהנא ונסבה אדנה דימינא |
[50]And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. |
| [51]ענא דינ ישׁוע ואמר כדו עדמא להדא וקרב לאדנה דהו דבלע ואסיה |
[51]But Jesus answered and said, It is enough for the present. And he touched the ear of him who was wounded, and healed it. |
| [52]ואמר ישׁוע להנונ דאתו עלוהי רבי כהנא וקשׁישׁא ורבי חילא דהיכלא איכ דעל לסטיא נפקתונ עלי בסיפא ובחוטרא דתאחדונני |
[52]And Jesus said to the high priests and the elders and the officers of the temple, who had come against him, Have you come out against me to arrest me with swords and staves, as if you were against a bandit? |
| [53]כליומ עמכונ הוית בהיכלא ולא אושׁטתונ עלי אידיא אלא הדא הי שׁעתכונ ושׁולטנא דחשׁוכא |
[53]I was with you every day in the temple, and you did not even point your hands at me; but this is your turn, and the power of darkness. |
| [54]ואחדו איתיוהי לביתה דרב כהנא ושׁמעונ אתא הוא בתרה מנ רוחקא |
[54]And they arrested him, and brought him to the house of the high priest. And Simon followed him afar off. |
| [55]אוחדו דינ נורא מצעת דרתא ויתבינ הוו חדריה ויתב הוא אפ הו שׁמעונ בינתהונ |
[55]And they kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard, and they sat around it; and Simon also sat among them. |
| [56]וחזתה עלימתא חדא דיתב לות נורא וחרת בה ואמרא אפ הנא עמה הוא |
[56]And a young woman saw him sitting by the fire, and she looked at him and said, This man also was with him. |
| [57]הו דינ כפר ואמר אנתתא לא ידע אנא לה |
[57]But he denied, and said, Woman, I do not know him. |
| [58]ובתר קליל חזיהי אחרנא ואמר לה אפ אנת מנהונ אנת כאפא דינ אמר לא הוית |
[58]And after a little while, another saw him, and said to him, You also are one of them. But Peter said, I am not. |
| [59]ובתר שׁעא חדא אחרנא מתחרא הוא ואמר שׁריראית אפ הנא עמה הוא אפ גליליא הו גיר |
[59]And after an hour, another one argued and said, Truly, this man also was with him; for he is also a Galilean. |
| [60]אמר כאפא גברא לא ידע אנא מנא אמר אנת ומחדא כד הו ממלל קרא תרנגלא |
[60]Peter said, Man, I do not know what you are saying. And immediately while he was still speaking, the cock crew. |
| [61]ואתפני ישׁוע וחר בכאפא ואתדכר שׁמעונ מלתה דמרנ דאמר הוא לה דקדמ דנקרא תרנגלא תכפור בי תלת זבנינ |
[61]And Jesus turned and looked at Peter. And Simon remembered the word of our Lord, that he said to him, Before the cock crows you will deny me three times. |
| [62]ונפק לבר שׁמעונ בכא מריראית |
[62]And Simon went outside and wept bitterly. |
| [63]וגברא דאחידינ הוו לישׁוע מבזחינ הוו בה ומחפינ הוו לה |
[63]And the men who held Jesus mocked him, |
| [64]ומחינ הוו לה על אפוהי ואמרינ אתנבא מנו מחכ |
[64]And they covered his head, and smote him on his face, saying, Prophesy, who has struck you. |
| [65]ואחרניתא סגיאתא מגדפינ הוו ואמרינ עלוהי |
[65]And many other things they blasphemed and said against him. |
| [66]וכד נגהת אתכנשׁו קשׁישׁא ורבי כהנא וספרא ואסקוהי לבית כנושׁתהונ |
[66]As soon as it was daybreak, the elders and the high priests and the scribes gathered together, and brought him up to their council chamber. |
| [67]ואמרינ לה אנ אנת הו משׁיחא אמר לנ אמר להונ אנ אמר לכונ לא תהימנונני |
[67]And they said to him, If you are the Christ, tell us. He said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe me. |
| [68]ואנ אשׁאלכונ לא מפנינ אנתונ לי פתגמא או שׁרינ אנתונ לי |
[68]And if I ask you, you will not answer me nor release me. |
| [69]מנ השׁא נהוא ברה דאנשׁא יתב מנ ימינא דחילא דאלהא |
[69]From henceforth the Son of man will sit at the right hand of the power of God. |
| [70]אמרינ דינ כלהונ אנת הו הכיל ברה דאלהא אמר להונ ישׁוע אנתונ אמרינ אנתונ דאנא אנא |
[70]And they all said, Are you then the Son of God? Jesus said to them, You say that I am. |
| [71]אמרינ מנא תוב מתבעינ לנ סהדא חננ גיר שׁמענ מנ פומה |
[71]And they said, Why then do we need witnesses? for we have heard it from his own mouth. |
