[1]AND when he had finished all these words in the hearing of the people, Jeshu entered into Kapher-nachum. |

[3]And he heard of Jeshu, and sent to him the elders of the Jihudoyee, and besought him to come [and] save his servant. |
[4]They but when they came to Ieshu seeking they were from Him diligently and they were saying worthy he is that You do for him this |
[4]And they, when they came to Jeshu, besought of him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that thou do this for him; |
[5]He loves for our nation also a house of assembly he has built for us |
[5]For he loveth our people, and also a synagogueⓘ he hath built for us. |
[6]Ieshu but going was with them when but not very He was far from the house sent to Him the centurion his friends and he said to Him my Lord not You should trouble yourself not for worthy I am that You should enter under my roof |
[6]And Jeshu went with them. But when he was not greatly distant from the house, the centurion sent to him his friends, saying to him, My Lord, labour not, for I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter beneath my roof. |
[7]Because of this I not I deserved that unto you I may come but say in a word and will be healed my boy |
[7]Wherefore I was not worthy to come to thee; but speak by a word, and my youth shall be healed. |
[8]Also I for a man I who put am under authority and there are under my hand soldiers and say I to this one go and he goes and to another come and he comes and to my servant do this and he does |
[8]For I also am a man who am subjected under authority; and there are under my hand soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth. |
[9]When heard but Ieshu these things He was amazed at him and He turned and He said to the crowds that had come after Him say I to you that even not in the house of Israel have I found like this faith |
[9]Now when Jeshu heard these [words], he admired, and turned and said to the company who came after him, I tell you, that not also in the house of Isroel have I found faith like this. |
[10]And returned those who had been sent to the house and they found servant that who sick had been already well |
[10]And they who had been sent, returned to the house, and found the servant who had been sick now well. |
[11]And it happened the day after it went He to a city whose name Nain and His disciples with Him and the crowd |
[11]AND it was the day after, that he went to a city whose name was Nain, and his disciples with him, and a great multitude. |
[12]And when He approached the gate of the city He saw as was escorted a dead man who the only son had been to his mother and she his mother a widow was and had assembled many of the children of the city with her |
[12]And as he approached the gate of the city, he saw [them] following [one] dead, who was the only born of his mother, and she his mother was a widow: and a great multitude of the people of the cityⓘ were with her. |
[13]Saw her but Ieshu and He was moved with pity for her and He said to her stop weeping |
[13]And Jeshu beheld her, and had compassion upon her, and said to her, Weep not. |
[14]And went on he touched the pallet and those who bearing were it they stood and He said young man to you say I arise |
[14]And he went and touched the bier; and they who were carrying it stood. And he said, Young man, to thee I say, Arise.ⓘ |
[15]And sat up he who had died and he began to speak and He gave him to his mother |
[15]And the dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. |
[16]Gripped awe the people all of them and glorifying they were to Alaha and they were saying a prophet great is arisen among us and has visited Alaha His people |
[16]And fear seized all men; and they glorified Aloha, saying, A great prophet hath arisen among us, and Aloha hath visited his people. |
[17]And went out about Him word this in all Judea and in all the region that was around them |
[17]And this word concerning him went forth into all Jihud, and into the whole region around them. |
[18]And revealed to Yokhanan his disciples these things all |
[18]And the disciples of Juchanon showed him all these. |
[19]And called Yokhanan to two from his disciples and he sent them to Ieshu and he said are You? He The One Who was coming or for another are waiting we |
[19]AND Juchanon called two from his disciples, and sent them to Jeshu, saying, Art thou He who cometh! or another should we expect? |
[20]And they came to Ieshu and they were saying to Him Yokhanan the baptizer sent us unto you and he said are You? He The One Who was coming or for another are? waiting we |
[20]... |
[21]In it but in that hour many He healed of diseases and from plagues and from spirits evil and to many blind people gave He sight |
[21]But in that very hour he healed many from diseases, and from plagues, and from evil spirits; and to many blind he gave to see. |
[22]And answered Ieshu and He said to them go tell Yokhanan everything that you have seen and you have heard that they who were blind are seeing and they who were lame are walking they who were lepers are cleansed and they who were deaf are hearing and they who were dead are raised and those who were poor are given good news |
[22]And Jeshu answered and said to them, Go tell Juchanon every thing you have seen and heard: that the blind see, and the lame walk, and the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead arise, and the poor are evangelized; |
[23]And blessed is he whoever not takes offense at Me |
[23]And blessed is he whosoever is not offended in me. |
[24]When but they went the disciples of Yokhanan He began to say to the crowds about Yokhanan what? did you go out to the wilderness to see a reed that by the wind is shaken |
[24]But when the disciples of Juchanon were gone, Jeshu began to speak to the people concerning Juchanon: What went you forth into the wilderness to see? a reed from the wind shaken? |
[25]But what? you go out to see a man who in a garment soft is clothed behold those who in clothing glorious and in luxury are in a house of a King are |
[25]If not, what went you forth to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they who are clothed in bright vestments, and are [living] in pleasures, are in the house of kings. |
[26]Otherwise what? did you go out to see a prophet yes say I to you and more than a prophet |
[26]If not, what went you forth to see? a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet: |
[27]This is he about whom it is written behold I sending am My messenger before Your face to prepare the way before You |
[27]He, concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send mine angel before thy face, who shall prepare the way before thee. |
[28]Say I to you there is not a prophet among those born of women who was greater than Yokhanan the baptizer a little one but in the Kingdom of Alaha greater is than he |
[28]I tell you, that no prophet among those born of women [hath been] greater than Juchanon the Baptizer. Yet the least in the kingdom of Aloha is greater than he. |
[29]And all the people who heard also the tax collectors justified to Alaha for they had been baptized of the baptism of Yokhanan |
[29](And all the people that heard him, and the tribute-gatherers also, justified Aloha, because they were baptized with the baptism of Juchanon. |
[30]The Pharisees but and the Scribes rejected in their souls the will of Alaha because not they were baptized by him |
[30]But the Pharishee and Sophree rejected against themselves the will of Aloha, because they were not baptized of him.) |
[31]To what? therefore shall I compare the men of generation this and what? does it resemble |
[31]With what therefore shall I compare the men of this generation, and to what are they like? |
[32]It is like boys sitting in the street and calling their friends and they were saying we sang to you and not you did dance and we howled to you and not you did cry |
[32]They are like children sitting in the public place, and crying to their companions, and saying, We have sung to you, and you have not danced; we have wailed to you, and you have not wept. |
[33]Came for Yokhanan the baptizer not eating bread neither drinking wine and were saying you a demon is in him |
[33]For Juchanon the Baptizer came, neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, A devil is in him. |
[34]Came the Son of Man eating and drinking and were saying you behold a man a glutton and a drinker of wine and a friend of tax collectors and of sinners |
[34]The Son of man came eating and drinking, and you say, Behold a man a devourer and a drinker of wine, and a friend of tribute-takers and of sinners! |
[35]And is justified wisdom from all of them its works |
[35]But justified is wisdom of her sons. |
[36]Came but asking from Him one of the Pharisees to eat with him and He entered his house of Pharisee that and He reclined |
[36]NOW there came one of the Pharishee requesting of him to eat with him: and he entered into the house of the Pharisha, and reclined. |
[37]And a woman a sinner she was in the city that and when knew in the house of Pharisee He was staying she took an alabaster vase of ointment |
[37]And a woman, a sinner, was in that city; and when she knew that in the house of the Pharisha he reclined, she took a vase of ointment, |
[38]And she stood behind Him at His feet and weeping she was and she began with her tears moistening His feet and with the hair of her head wiping them and kissing she was His feet and anointing with ointment |
[38]And stood behind him at his feet and wept, and began with her tears to bedrop his feet, and with the hair of her head to wipe them, and she kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the ointment. |
[39]When saw but Pharisee that who had invited Him he thought in his soul and he said This One if a prophet he were known He would have who she is and what her reputation for a sinner she is a woman she is who touches Him |
[39]But when the Pharisha who had invited him saw [this], he thought within himself and said, Were this a prophet, he would know who this is and what is her report, for this woman is a sinner who toucheth him. |
[40]Answered but Ieshu and He said to him Shimeon something is to Me to tell you he but said to him say Rabbi |
[40]But Jeshu answered and said to him, Shemun, I have somewhat to say to thee. He said to him, Say, Rabi. Jeshu said to him, |
[41]Said to him Ieshu two debtors there were to one land owner debtor one owed had denarii five hundred and the other denarii fifty |
[41]A certain creditorⓘ had two debtors: the one owed him five hundred dinoree, and the other fifty dinoree. |
[42]And because there not was to them to pay both he forgave which? therefore of them more will love him |
[42]And when they had nothing to pay, he forgave them both. Which, therefore, of them the most would love him? |
[43]Answered Shimeon and he said suppose I that he who was forgiven to him much said to him Ieshu correctly you have judged |
[43]Shemun answered and said, I think he to whom much was forgiven. Jeshu said to him, Thou hast judged rightly. |
[44]And He turned to that woman and said to Shimeon do see? you the woman this your house I entered water for My feet not you gave this one but with her tears My feet she has washed and with her hair she wiped them |
[44]And he turned to that woman, and said to Shemun, Thou seest this woman: I entered thy house; waters for my feet thou gavest me not; but this with her tears hath bedropped my feet, and with her hair hath wiped them. |
[45]You not kissed Me this but behold from when she entered not she has ceased My feet to kiss |
[45]Thou didst not kiss me; but, behold, this from [the time] I entered hath not ceased my feet to kiss. |
[46]You with oil My head not anointed this but with oil of ointment My feet she has anointed |
[46]Thou with ointment my feet didst not anoint, but this with ointment of balsam my feet hath anointed. |
[47]On account of this say I to you that are forgiven to her her sins many because she loved much he but he who a little is forgiven to him a little loves |
[47]Therefore I tell thee, That forgiven to her are her many sins, because she hath loved much. For he to whom little is forgiven, little loveth. |
[48]And He said to that woman are forgiven to you your sins |
[48]And he said to her, Woman, forgiven to thee [are] thy sins. |
[49]Began but they who were reclining saying in their souls Who is? This that even sins He forgives |
[49]But they who reclined said among themselves, Who is this who also sins forgiveth? |
[50]Ieshu but said to that woman your faith has given you life go in peace |
[50]But Jeshu said to that woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. |
