[1]And it was from after these things traveling a circuit was Ieshu in the cities and in the villages and preaching He was and announcing the Kingdom of Alaha and His twelve were with Him |
[1]AND it was after these things that Jeshu itinerated among the cities and villages, and preached and announced the kingdom of Aloha, and his twelve with him, |
[2]And women these who had been healed from sicknesses and from spirits evil Maryam who is called Magdalitha she who seven demons had gone out from her |
[2]And those women who had been healed from infirmities and from evil spirits, Mariam who was called Magdalitha, she from whom he had cast out seven devils, |
[3]And Yokhana the wife of Kuza the steward of Herodus and Shushan and others many those who ministering were to them from their possessions |
[3]And Juchana the wife of Kusa, chief of the household of Herodes, and Shushan, and many others, who ministered unto him from their possessions. |
[4]And when a crowd great gathered had and from all cities coming they were to Him He said in a parable |
[4]And when a great multitude had assembled, and from all the cities had come to him, he discoursed in parables. |
[5]Went out a sower to sow his seed and as he sowed there was that which fell on the side of the road and it was trampled and ate it a bird |
[5]A sower went forth to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the road-side; and it was trodden down, and the fowl devoured it. |
[6]And other seed fell on the rock and son of an hour it sprang up and because there not was for it moisture it dried up |
[6]And other fell upon the rock; and it immediately sprang up, and, because it had no moisture, it withered. |
[7]And other seed fell among thorns and sprang up with it the thorns and they choked it |
[7]And other fell among thorns, and they sprang up with it, and choked it. |
[8]And other seed fell in the ground good and excellent and it sprang up and produced fruit one in a hundred these things when He had said cried He whoever has on him an ear that it will hear let him hear |
[8]And other fell into ground good and fair, and sprang up, and made fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these [words], he cried, Whoever hath ears to hear, let him hear. |
[9]And asked Him His disciples what is? parable this |
[9]And his disciples asked him, What is [the signification of] this parable? |
[10]He but said to them to you it it has been given to know the secret of the Kingdom of Alaha to those but the rest in an allegory it is spoken that while seeing not they will perceive and when hearing not they will understand |
[10]But he said to them, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Aloha; but to those who are the rest in similitudes is it spoken; that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand. |
[11]This is but the parable the seed is the word of Alaha |
[11]But this is the parable: The seed is the word of Aloha. |
[12]They but upon the side of the road are they who hear the word and comes the enemy he takes the word from their heart lest they should believe and they should live |
[12]Now they by the road-side are they who hear the word; and the adversary cometh, and taketh up the word from their hearts, that they should not believe and be saved. |
[13]These but that upon the rock these are they who when they have heard with joy receive it the word and root there is no to them but temporary is their faith and in time of temptation they are subverted |
[13]But those who fell upon the rock are those who, when they hear, with joy receive the word; yet root they have not, but for a time is their faith, and in the time of temptation they are offended. |
[14]That but which fell among thorns these are those who hear the word and by cares and by riches and the desires of the world they are choked and fruit not they yield |
[14]But that which fell among thorns are they who hear the word, and by the cares, and by the riches, and by the lusts of the world, they are choked, and fruit they give not. |
[15]That but which is in the ground good these are those who with a heart pure and good hear the word and they hold onto it and they yield fruit with patience |
[15]But that which [was] in good ground are they who, with hearts humble and good, hear the word and retain, and give fruits with perseverance. |
[16]No man lights a lamp and covers it with a vessel or sets it under a bed but sets it over from a lamp stand that everyone who enters may see its light |
[16]NO man lighteth a lamp, and covereth it with a measure, or setteth it under a bed; but setteth it upon a candlestick, that every one who cometh in may see the light of it. |
[17]There is not for anything that is covered that not will be revealed neither that is hidden that not will be known and it will come into the open |
[17]For there is nothing hidden which shall not be revealed, and nothing secret that shall not be known and come into openness. |
[18]Take heed how you hear whoever has it for it will be given to him and whoever has not it also that which he thinks he has it will be taken from him |
[18]Take heed how you hear: for unto him who hath, it shall be given; and from him who hath not, that also which he thinketh that he hath shall be taken from him. |
[19]Came but to Him His mother and His brothers and not able they were to speak with Him because of the crowd |
[19]Now came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not speak with him on account of the assembly. |
[20]And they said to Him Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside and they desire to see You |
[20]And they said to him, Thy mother and thy brethren are standing without, desiring to see thee. |
[21]He but answered and said to them these are My mother and My brothers those who are hearing the word of Alaha and are doing it |
[21]But he answered and said to them, These are my mother and my brethren, they who hear the word of Aloha, and do it. |
[22]It was but on one of the days went up Ieshu He sat down in the boat He and His disciples and He told them let us cross to that other side of the lake |
[22]NOW it was on one of the days that Jeshu ascended and sat in a vessel and his disciples: and he said to them, Let us pass to the other side of the water. |
[23]And as they journeyed sleeping Himself was Ieshu and there was a tempest of wind on the lake and coming close was the ship to sinking |
[23]But as they went, Jeshu himself slept. And there became a storm of wind on the water, and nigh was the vessel to be swallowed up. |
[24]And they came they awakened Him and they were saying to Him our Master our Master we are being destroyed He but arose and He rebuked the wind and the waves of the sea and they ceased and there was a calm |
[24]And they approached [and] awoke him, saying to him, Our master, our master, we perish! But he arose and rebuked the winds and the waves of the sea; and they quieted, and there was a calm. |
[25]And He said to them where? is your faith they but while being in awe marveling they were and they were saying one to another Who is? indeed This that even the wind He commands and the waves and the sea and they obey Him |
[25]And he said to them, Where is your faith? But they, afraid, wondered, saying one with another, Who is this that also commandeth the winds, and to whom the waves and the sea are obedient? |
[26]And they sailed and they came to the region of the Gadarenes which is on the other side next to Galila |
[26]And they went forward and came to the country of the Godroyee, which is over against Galila. |
[27]And when He unboarded to land met Him a man one from the city who had in him a demon from a time long and clothes not wearing he was and in a house not dwelling he was but among houses of burial |
[27]And when he had gone forth to the land, there met him a certain man from the city, who had a devil in him a great time, and [who] wore no clothes, and in a house dwelt not, but in the place of the buried. |
[28]When he saw but Ieshu he screamed and he fell before Him and in a voice loud he said what? to us and to You Ieshu The Son of Alaha The Most High beg I of You do not punish me |
[28]But when he saw Jeshu, he cried out, and fell before him, and said in a high voice, What to us and to thee, Jeshu, son of Aloha Marima?ⓘ I beseech of thee, torment me not. |
[29]Commanded had him for Ieshu the spirit vile to go out from the man long it was for a time from when possessed it had him and bound he had been in chains and in shackles kept he had been and burst he would his bonds and driven he would be by the demon to the desert |
[29]For Jeshu commanded the unclean spirit to come forth from the man. For longⓘ was the time that he had been enthralled of him; and [when] bound with chains, and kept with fetters, he had burst asunder his bonds, and had been driven by the demon into the waste. |
[30]Asked him but Ieshu what is? your name he said to Him Legion because demons many entered they had him |
[30]And Jeshu demanded of him, What is thy name? He saith to him, Legion: because that many devils had entered into him. |
[31]And begging they were from him that not He would command them to enter the abyss |
[31]And they besought from him that he would not cast them out to go into the abyss. |
[32]There was but there a herd of swine many grazing on the mountain and begging they were from Him to permit them that into the swine they may enter and He permitted them |
[32]Now there was there a great herd of many swine which fed on the hill: and they besought from him that he would permit them to enter into the swine. And he permitted them. |
[33]And went out the demons from the man and they entered the swine and went straight herd that whole to the precipice and they fell into the lake and they drowned |
[33]And the demons went forth from the man, and entered into the swine; and the whole herd went directly to the precipice, and plunged into the waters, and were suffocated. |
[34]When saw but the herdsmen the thing that occurred they fled and they related it in the city and in the villages |
[34]And when the herdmen saw the thing that was done, they fled, and made known in the city and in the villages. |
[35]And went out men to see the thing that had happened and they came to Ieshu and they found him man that had gone whose demons while clothed and sober and sitting at the feet of Ieshu and they were in awe |
[35]And the men went forth to see the thing which was done. And they came to Jeshu, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, clothed, sober, and sitting at the feet of Jeshu. And they feared. |
[36]And related to them those who saw how was healed man that demoniac |
[36]And they who had seen it showed to them how the man of the demon had been healed. |
[37]And seeking they were from Him all the crowds of Gadarenes that would go He from among them because fear great had seized them He but Ieshu embarked the ship and returned from among them |
[37]And the whole multitude of the Godroyee besought of Jeshu that he would go from them, because great fear had taken them. And he, Jeshu, ascended the ship, and returned from them. |
[38]That but man had gone out from whom the demons beseeching was from Him that join Him he might and dismissed him Ieshu and He said to him |
[38]But he, the man from whom had gone forth the demons, besought of him that he might be with him. But Jeshu dismissed him, and said to him, |
[39]Return to your house and relate the thing that has done for you Alaha and he went on and preaching he was in the whole city the thing that had done for him Ieshu |
[39]Return to thine house, and show what Aloha hath done for thee. And he went and proclaimed in every city what Jeshu had done for him. |
[40]When returned but Ieshu received Him a crowd great all of them for for Him looking they had been |
[40]WHEN Jeshu returned, a great multitude received him: for they were all expecting him. |
[41]And man one whose name was Yorash head of the synagogue fell before the feet of Ieshu and begged he of Him to enter his house |
[41]And a certain man whose name was Jorush, head of the synagogue, fell before the feet of Jeshu, and besought him to enter into his house; |
[42]A daughter for only there was to him about daughter of years twelve and about she was to die and when went with him He Ieshu a crowd great pressing was Him |
[42]For he had an only daughter, as a daughter of twelve years, and she was nigh unto death. And as Jeshu went with him, the great multitude pressed him. |
[43]Woman but a certain flowed had whose blood years twelve was she who among physicians all her property had spent and not could by anyone be healed |
[43]And a certain woman whose blood had gushed forth twelve years, she who among the physicians had spent all her substance, but could not be healed by any one, |
[44]She approached from behind Him and she touched the fringe of His garment and at once stopped the flow of her blood |
[44]Approached him from behind, and touched the border of his garment, and immediately stood the flowing of her blood. |
[45]And said Ieshu who? touched Me and when all of them denied said to Him Shimeon Kaypha and those with him our Master the crowds are pressing close to You and they are pushing and say? You who? touched Me |
[45]And Jeshu said, Who touched me? And when all denied, Shemun Kipha and those with him said, Raban,ⓘ the crowd straiteneth and presseth thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? |
[46]He but said a person has touched Me I for do know that power has gone out from Me |
[46]But he said, Some one hath touched me, for I know that power hath gone forth from me. |
[47]That but woman when she saw that not she had escaped His notice she came when trembling and she fell and she worshiped Him and she told before the eyes of the people all for what cause she had touched Him and how at once she had been healed |
[47]And she, the woman, when she saw that she was not hid, came trembling and fell [and] worshipped him. And she told before all the peopleⓘ for what cause she had touched him, and how at once she had been healed. |
[48]He but Ieshu said to her take heart My daughter your faith has given you life go in peace |
[48]But he, Jeshu, said to her, Be comforted,ⓘ my daughter: thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace. |
[49]And while He was speaking came a man who of the house of the leader of the assembly and he said to him has died she your daughter not trouble The Teacher |
[49]And while he was speaking, there came a man from theⓘ chief of the synagogue and said to him, Thy daughter is dead, weary not the Malphona. |
[50]Ieshu but heard and He said to the father of the girl not do be afraid only have faith and she will live |
[50]But Jeshu heard, and said to the father of the damsel, Fear not, only believe, and she lives! |
[51]Came but Ieshu to the house and not He allowed anyone to enter with Him except Shimeon and Yaqob and Yokhanan and the father of the girl and her mother |
[51]But Jeshu came to the house, and he suffered no man to enter with him, save Shemun, and Jakub, and Juchanon, and the father of the damsel, and her mother. |
[52]All of them but weeping were and wailing over her Ieshu but said stop weeping not for she is dead but sleeping she is |
[52]And they were all weeping and wailing for her; but Jeshu said, Weep not, for she is not dead, but asleep. |
[53]And laughing they were at Him for they knew that had died she |
[53]And they laughed at him, for they knew that she was dead. |
[54]He but sent everyone outside and He held her by her hand and He called her and He said little girl arise |
[54]But he put every man forth without. And he took her by the hand, and called and said, Damsel, arise.ⓘ |
[55]And returned her spirit and at once she arose and He commanded them to give her food |
[55]And her spirit returned, and she arose. And he directed that they should give her to eat. |
[56]And were astonished her parents He but warned them anyone not to tell what had happened |
[56]And her parents were astonished; but he cautioned them that no man they should tell what he had done. |
