[1]And at once in the morning they made a counsel the Chief Priests with The Elders and with The Scribes and with all the Assembly and they bound Ieshu and brought Him and delivered Him to Pilatus |
[1]AND forthwith in the morning the chief priests with the elders and with the scribes and with the whole congregation made council; and they bound Jeshu, and led him and delivered him to Pilatos the governor. |
[2]And asked Him Pilatus You are? The King of the Judeans He but he answered and He said to him you have said |
[2]And Pilatos asked him, Art thou the King of the Jihudoyee? And he replied and said to him, Thou hast said. |
[3]? ? and accused Him the Chief Priests of many things |
[3]And the chief priests accused him of many [things]: |
[4]He but Pilatus again asked Him and said to him not? return you an answer see how many are testifying against You |
[4]But he, Pilatos, asked him again and said to him, Returnest thou not an answer? see how many are witnessing against thee. |
[5]He but Ieshu any answer not he gave so that would wonder Pilatus |
[5]But he, Jeshu, did not give any answer; so that Pilatos admired. |
[6]Set a time he but at every feast to release to them prisoner one whomever they requested |
[6]But he was accustomed at every festival to release to them of the bound one whom they requested; |
[7]And there was one who was called Bar-Abba who bound was with them that made sedition those who murder in the sedition commited |
[7]And there was one who was called Bar-aba, who was bound with the makers of sedition, they who murder in the sedition had committed. |
[8]And cried out the people and they began to ask so that he would keep the custom he had been doing for them |
[8]And the people cried out and began to demand, that as he was used he would do to them. |
[9]He but Pilatus answered and said willing are you? that I release to you the King of the Judeans |
[9]But Pilatos answered and said, Will you that I release to you the King of the Jihudoyee? |
[10]Known had for Pilatus that from envy delivered Him the Chief Priests to them |
[10]For Pilatos knew that for envy the chief priests had delivered him. |
[11]The Chief Priests but all the more urged the crowd that Bar-Abba he would release |
[11]But the chief priests the more incited the multitude, that Bar-aba he should release to them. |
[12]He but Pilatus said to them what? therefore do want you me to do to this one Whom called you The King of the Judeans |
[12]But he, Pilatos, said to them, What then will you that I do to this, whom ye call King of the Jihudoyee? |
[13]They but again cried out crucify Him |
[13]And they again cried,ⓘ Crucify him! |
[14]He but Pilatus said to them what? for evil has He done and they the more crying out were crucify Him |
[14]Pilatos said to them, Why? what evil hath he done? And they the more exceedingly cried, Crucify him. |
[15]Pilatus but wanted to do the will of the crowds and released to them Bar-Abba and delivered to them Ieshu after He had been scourged to be crucified |
[15]But Pilatos was willing to serve the will of the people, and released to them Bar-aba, and delivered up to them Jeshu, scourged, to be crucified. |
[16]The soldiers but led Him within the courtyard which is Praetorium and they called the whole company of soldiers |
[16]And the soldiers led him into the court which is the praetorium, and called the whole band; |
[17]And they clothed Him in purple and they wound and they placed on Him a crown of thorns |
[17]And they robed him in purple, and twisted and set upon him a crown of thorns, |
[18]And they began to invoke His peace Hail King of the Judeans |
[18]And they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jihudoyee! |
[19]And hitting they were Him on His head with a reed and spitting they were in His face and bowing they were on their knees and worshiping Him |
[19]And they struck him upon the head with a cane, and spat in his face, and kneeled upon their knees and worshipped him. |
[20]And when they mocked Him they stripped Him of the purple and clothed Him in His clothes and led Him to crucify Him |
[20]And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple, and clothed him with his own vestments, and led him forth to crucify him. |
[21]And they detained one who passing by was Shimeon Qurinia who come had from the field the father of Alexandrus and of Rufus to take up His cross |
[21]AND they constrained one who was passing, Shemun Kurinoia, who was coming from the field, the father of Alexander and of Rufus, to bear his cross. |
[22]And they brought Him to Gagultha the place that is interpreted The Skull |
[22]And they brought him to Gogultha, a place which is interpreted A skull. |
[23]And they gave to Him to drink wine that had been mixed with it myrrh He but not would take |
[23]And they gave him to drink wine which was mixed with myrrh; but he would not receive. |
[24]And when they had crucified Him they divided His garments and cast for them lots who would what? take |
[24]And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, and cast for them lots who should take them. |
[25]It was but hour the third when they crucified Him |
[25]And it was the third hour when they crucified him. |
[26]And written was the pretext of His death in writing this This is The King of the Jews |
[26]And there was written the occasion of his death in the inscription, This is the King of the Jihudoyee.ⓘ |
[27]And they crucified with Him two robbers one at His right and one at His left |
[27]And they crucified with him two thieves, one on his right and one on his left; |
[28]And was fulfilled the scripture that says with wicked men He was numbered |
[28]And was accomplished the Scripture which said, That with the wicked he was reckoned. |
[29]Also those but who passing were blaspheming they were against Him and were shaking their heads and they were saying O' destroyer of the temple and the one who builds it in three days |
[29]AND they also who passed by blasphemed against him, wagging their heads and saying, Ho, undoer of the temple and builder of it in three days, |
[30]Save Yourself and descend from the cross |
[30]Deliver thyself and come down from the cross! |
[31]And likewise also the chief priests joking they were one with another and the Scribes and they were saying others He saved Himself not He is able to save |
[31]And so also the chief priests laughing one with one, and the Sophree, and saying, Others he saved, himself he cannot save. |
[32]The Messiah King of Israel let Him descend now from the cross that we may see and we will believe in Him and also they but who crucified were with Him reviling they were Him |
[32]The Meshicha King of Isroel, let him descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe on him; and they also who were crucified with him reviled him. |
[33]And when it was sixth the hour was darkness on all the earth until the hour ninth |
[33]AND when it was the sixth hour, there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. |
[34]And in ninth the hour cried out Ieshu in a voice loud and He said Eil Eil lemana Shabaqthani which is My Alaha My Alaha Why? have You forsaken Me |
[34]And in the ninth hour Jeshu cried with a high voice and said, Il, Il, Lamona Shabaktoni! Which is, Alohi! Alohi!ⓘ why hast thou forsaken me? |
[35]And people who heard among those who were standing saying they were to Elia He called |
[35]And certain who heard, of them who were standing, said, Elia he calleth; |
[36]Ran but one and filled a sponge with vinegar and tied it on a reed to give Him a drink and they said let Him alone let us see if comes Elia to take down Him |
[36]But one ran and filled a sponge with vinegar, and bound it on a rod that he might drink. And they said, Let alone, we will see if Elia cometh to take him down. |
[37]He but Ieshu cried in a voice loud and He expired |
[37]But he, Jeshu, cried with a high voice, and completed: |
[38]And the curtain of the door of the temple was ripped in two from the top unto the bottom |
[38]And the veilⓘ of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. |
[39]When saw but Centurion that who standing was with Him that thus He had cried out and expired he said truly this man The Son was of Alaha |
[39]But when that centurion who stood near him saw that he cried thus, and ended, [he] said, Assuredly this man was the Son of Aloha. |
[40]There were but also women from a distance who looking were Maryam Magdalitha and Maryam the mother of Yaqob the small and of Yose and Shalom |
[40]And there were women from afar who were beholding; Mariam Magdalitha, and Mariam mother of Jacub the less and of Josi, and Shaloom; |
[41]Those who when He was in Galila joined were to Him and ministered to Him and others many who gone up had with Him to Jerusalem |
[41]Those who, when he was in Galila, adhered to him, and ministered to him, and many others who went up with him to Urishlem. |
[42]And when it was the evening of Friday which is before The Sabbath |
[42]AND when it was evening of the preparation which is before the shabath, |
[43]Came Yoseph that who was from Ramtha honorable a Counsellor who also was he who waiting was for the kingdom of Alaha and ventured and entered unto Pilatus and requested the body of Ieshu |
[43]Came Jauseph, he who was from Rometha, an honourable counsellor, who also himself waited for the kingdom of Aloha. And he took courage, and went in to Pilatos and requested the body of Jeshu. |
[44]Pilatus but wondered that if from sufficient time He had died and he called the Centurion and asked him that if from before the time He had died |
[44]But Pilatos wondered if he were now dead; and he called the centurion and asked him whether before the time he was dead: |
[45]And when he learned he gave His body to Yoseph |
[45]And when he had learned, he gave the body to Jauseph. |
[46]And bought Yoseph linen and took it down and wrapped it in it and placed it in a tomb that hewn out was in the rock and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb |
[46]And Jauseph bought linen, and took him down and wrapped him in it, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn in the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the sepulchre. |
[47]Maryam but Magdalitha and Maryam that is mother of Yose saw where He had been laid |
[47]But Mariam Magdalitha and Mariam, she who was [the mother] of Josi, beheld where he was laid. |
