[1]And He came to the other side of the sea to the region of the Gadarenes [1]AND they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gadroyee.
[2]And when He went out from the ship met with him from among tombs a man who is in him a spirit unclean [2]And when he had come from the vessel, there met him from the place of tombs a man who had an unclean spirit,
[3]And dwelt he among the tombs and with chains a man not able was to bind him [3]And he dwelt in the place of tombs; and with chains no man could bind him:
[4]Because ever when in shackles and in chains bound he had been the chains broken he had and the shackles cut apart he had and no man able was to subdue him [4]For, so often as with shackles and chains he had been bound, the chains he had broken, and the shackles he had burst asunder; and no man could subdue him.
[5]And in every time in the night and in the daytime in the house of tombs and in the mountains he was and crying out was and he was cutting himself with a stone [5]And at all time, by night and by day, he was in the place of tombs, and in the mountains, crying out, and bruising himself with stones.
[6]When he saw but Ieshu from a distance he ran and prostrated himself [6]But when he saw Jeshu from afar, he ran, worshipped him,
[7]And he cried out in a voice loud and said what to me and to You Ieshu Son of Alaha most high adjure I you by Alaha that not you will torture me [7]And cried with a high voice, and said, What to me and to thee, Jeshu, Son of Aloha the Most High? I adjure thee by Aloha, that thou torment me not!
[8]Said He had to him for come out from the son of man spirit foul [8]—For he had said to him, Come forth from the man, unclean spirit!—
[9]And He had asked him What is? your name he said to Him Legion our name is because many we are [9]And he questioned him, How is thy name? And he said to him, Legion is our name, because we are many.
[10]And begged he of Him much that not He would send him outside of the region [10]And he besought him much that he would not send him out of the region.
[11]There was but there near the mountain a herd great of swine that were feeding [11]Now at the mountain there was a great herd of swine feeding.
[12]And begging were from him those evil spirits and they were saying send us unto those swine that in them we may enter [12]And the devils besought him, saying, Send us into those swine, that into them we may enter.
[13]And He allowed them and went out the spirits these foul ones and entered into the swine and ran that herd to a precipice and fell into the sea about two thousand and they drowned in the sea [13]And he suffered them. And those unclean spirits went forth and entered into the swine; and that herd ran to the rock, and plunged into the sea, as two thousand, and were drowned in the waters.
[14]And they who herding were them fled and told it in the city also in the villages and they went out to see the thing that had occurred [14]And they who kept them fled, and told in the city, and also in the hamlets; and they came forth to see what was done.
[15]And they came to Ieshu and they saw Him with him whom the evil spirits had possessed as he was clothed and reverent and sitting him who had been in him Legion and they were afraid [15]And they came to Jeshu, and saw him who [had had] the devils, sitting, clothed, and sane; him, who had had in him the legion and they were afraid.
[16]And they related to them those who had seen how it had been with him whom the evil spirits had possessed and also about those swine [16]And they who had seen, related to them what had been done to him who had had the devils, and also concerning those swine.
[17]And they began asking of Him that he would depart Himself from their coast [17]And they began to beg of him to go from their coast.
[18]And after He embarked the ship requesting was of Him he whom the evil spirits had possessed that with Him he would remain [18]And when he had ascended the vessel, he in whom had been the devils besought him that he might be with him.
[19]And not He allowed him but said to him go to your house to your people and relate to them the thing that has done for you The Lord the Lord and that He has had compassion upon you [19]But he permitted him not; but said to him, Go to thy house, to thy men, and show them what the Lord hath done for thee, and [how he] hath had mercy on thee.
[20]And He departed and began preaching in the ten cities the thing that had done for him Ieshu and all of them astounded were [20]And he went, and began to preach in the ten cities what Jeshu had done for him: and all marvelled.
[21]And after crossed over Ieshu in the ship to that other side again were assembled unto Him the crowds great while He was on the side of the sea [21]AND when Jeshu had passed in the vessel to the opposite side, there were again congregated unto him great gatherings, while he was upon the shore of the sea.
[22]And came one of the name Yoaresh from the rulers of the synagogue and when he had seen Him he fell at His feet [22]And there came one whose name was Jorosh, one of the masters of the synagogue; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
[23]And begging he was from Him greatly and he said to Him my daughter very sick has been made come lay Your hand upon her and she will be healed and she will live [23]And besought him much, saying to him, My daughter is greatly afflicted; come, lay thy hand upon her, and she will be healed, and live.
[24]And went on with him Ieshu and close was to Him a crowd great and pressing they were upon Him [24]And Jeshu went with him; and a great multitude adhered to him, and oppressed him.
[25]A woman but a certain who there was with a flow of blood years twelve [25]But a certain woman, who had a defluxion of blood twelve years,
[26]Who greatly had suffered from physicians many and had spent every thing that was to her and a thing not had been helped but even more she had been afflicted [26]Who much had suffered from many physicians, and had expended all whatever she had, and was nothing helped, but also the more afflicted,
[27]When she heard about Ieshu she came in the press of the crowd from behind Him she touched His garment [27]Having heard of Jeshu, came in the press of the crowd behind him, and touched his vestment.
[28]Said she had for even if His garment touch I shall live I [28]For she said, If I but touch his vestment, I shall live.
[29]And at once dried up the fount of blood and she sensed in her body that she was healed from her plague [29]And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried; and she felt in her body that she had been healed from her plague.
[30]Ieshu but at once knew in Himself that power had gone out from Him and He turned to the crowds and said who? has touched My garment [30]But Jeshu at once knew within himself that power had gone forth from him, and he turned to the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments?
[31]And were saying to Him His disciples see you the crowd that is pressing against You and say? you who? has touched Me Me [31]His disciples say to him, Thou seest the crowds that oppress thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
[32]And gazing He was that He might see who this had done [32]And he looked round to see who this had done.
[33]That but woman when because afraid and trembling for she knew what had happened to her she came she fell down before Him and told Him all the truth [33]But the woman herself, fearing and trembling, because she knew what had been done for her, came, fell before him, and told him all the truth.
[34]He but said to her My daughter your faith has given you life go in peace and be whole from your disease [34]But he said to her, My daughter, thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace, and be healed from thy plague.
[35]And while He was speaking they came who were of the house of the ruler of the assembly and they were saying your daughter has died why? now should trouble you the teacher [35]And while he was speaking, there came some of the house of the master of the synagogue, saying, Thy daughter is dead: for what then art thou wearying the Teacher?
[36]Ieshu but heard the words which they spoke and He said to him the ruler of the assembly not you will fear only believe [36]But Jeshu heard the word which they spake, and said to the master of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe.
[37]And not allowed a man that he should go with Him but Shimeon Kaypha and Yaqob and Yohanan the brother of Yaqob [37]And he did not permit any one to go with him, except Shemun Kipha, and Jacub, and Juchanon, brother of Jacub.
[38]And they came to the house of him who was chief of the assembly and He saw those who were disturbed and weeping and wailing [38]And they came to the house of that master of the synagogue, and he saw how they made a tumult, and wept and bewailed.
[39]And He entered and He said to them why? disturbed are you and weeping the girl not has died but sleeping she is [39]And he entered, and said to them, Why make you a tumult, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but asleep.
[40]And laughing they were at Him He but put out all of them and He took the father of the girl and her mother and those who were with Him and entered the place where lying was the girl [40]And they derided him. But Jeshu put them all forth, and took the father of the damsel, and her mother, and those who were with her, and went in where the damsel was lying.
[41]And He took by her hand of the girl and He said to her little girl arise [41]And he took the hand of the damsel, and said to her, Damsel, arise.
[42]And son of the moment arose the young girl and walking she was she was for a daughter of years twelve and astounded they were with astonishment great [42]And forthwith the damsel arose, and walked; for she was a daughter of twelve years. And they wondered with great admiration.
[43]And He commanded them strictly that not a man should relate this and He said that they should give her food [43]And he charged them greatly that no one should know this, and spake that they should give her [somewhat] to eat.
