Vulgata Clementina (1592)
Vul
[1]A Song of degrees of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; [1]Canticum graduum. Qui confidunt in Domino, sicut mons Sion: non commovebitur in æternum, qui habitat
[2]If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: [2]in Jerusalem. Montes in circuitu ejus; et Dominus in circuitu populi sui, ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.
[3]Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: [3]Quia non relinquet Dominus virgam peccatorum super sortem justorum; ut non extendant justi ad iniquitatem manus suas,
[4]Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: [4]benefac, Domine, bonis, et rectis corde.
[5]Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. [5]Declinantes autem in obligationes, adducet Dominus cum operantibus iniquitatem. Pax super Israël !
[6]Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 6[No verse]
[7]Our soul hath escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we have escaped. 7[No verse]
[8]Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. 8[No verse]
