[[Praise ye the Lord.]]
[1]The `title of the hundrid and sixe and fourtithe salm. Alleluya. Herie ye the Lord, for the salm is good; heriyng be myrie, and fair to oure God. [1]Praise thou the Lord, O my soul.
[2]The Lord schal bilde Jerusalem; and schal gadere togidere the scateryngis of Israel. [2]I will praise the Lord during my life: as long as I have any being, I will sing unto my God.
[3]Which Lord makith hool men contrit in herte; and byndith togidere the sorewes of hem. [3]Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, for there is none help in him.
[4]Which noumbrith the multitude of sterris; and clepith names to alle tho. [4]His breath departeth, and he returneth to his earth: then his thoughts perish.
[5]Oure Lord is greet, and his vertu is greet; and of his wisdom is no noumbre. [5]Blessed is he, that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.
[6]The Lord takith vp mylde men; forsothe he makith low synneris `til to the erthe. [6]Which made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth his fidelity forever:
[7]Bifore synge ye to the Lord in knoulechyng; seye ye salm to oure God in an harpe. [7]Which executeth justice for the oppressed: which giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseth the prisoners.
[8]Which hilith heuene with cloudis; and makith redi reyn to the erthe. Which bryngith forth hei in hillis; and eerbe to the seruice of men. [8]The Lord giveth sight to the blind: the Lord raiseth up the crooked: the Lord loveth the righteous.
[9]Which yyueth mete to her werk beestis; and to the briddys of crowis clepinge hym. [9]The Lord keepeth the strangers: he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but he overthroweth the way of the wicked.
[10]He schal not haue wille in the strengthe of an hors; nether it schal be wel plesaunt to hym in the leggis of a man. [10]The Lord shall reign forever: O Zion, thy God endureth from generation to generation. Praise ye the Lord.
