[[To him that excelleth.] A Psalm Chapter of David the servant of the Lord, which spake unto the Lord the words of this song (in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul) and said,]
[1]For the Leader. A Psalm of David the servant of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, who spoke unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ the words of this song in the day that ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; [1]I will love thee dearly, O Lord my strength.
[2]And he said: I love thee, O ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, my strength. [2]The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and he that delivereth me, my God and my strength: in him will I trust, my shield, the horn also of my salvation, and my refuge.
[3]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ is my rock, and my fortress, and m deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower. [3]I will call upon the Lord, which is worthy to be praised: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.
[4]Praised, I cry, is ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and I am saved from mine enemies. [4]The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of wickedness made me afraid.
[5]The cords of Death compassed me, and the floods of Belial assailed me. [5]The sorrows of the grave have compassed me about: the snares of death overtook me.
[6]The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of Dea confronted me. [6]But in my trouble did I call upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry did come before him, even into his ears.
[7]In my distress I called upon ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and cried unto my God; out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry came before Him unto His ears. [7]Then the earth trembled, and quaked: the foundations also of the mountains moved and shook, because he was angry.
[8]Then the earth did shake and quake, the foundations also of the mountains did tremble; they were shaken, because He was wroth. [8]Smoke went out at his nostrils, and a consuming fire out of his mouth: coals were kindled there at.
[9]Smoke arose up in His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth did devour; coals flamed forth from Him. [9]He bowed the heavens also and came down, and darkness was under his feet.
[10]He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet. [10]And he rode upon cherub and did fly, and he came flying upon the wings of the wind.
[11]And He rode upon a cherub, and did fly; yea, He did swoop down upon the wings of the wind. [11]He made darkness his secret place, and his pavilion round about him, even darkness of waters, and clouds of the air.
[12]He made darkness His hiding-place, His pavilion round about Him; darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies. [12]At the brightness of his presence his clouds passed, hailstones and coals of fire.
[13]At the brightness before Him, there passed through His thick clouds hailstones and coals of fire. [13]The Lord also thundered in the heaven, and the Highest gave his voice, hailstones and coals of fire.
[14]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High gave forth His voice; hailstones and coals of fire. [14]Then he sent out his arrows and scattered them, and he increased lightnings and destroyed them.
[15]And He sent out His arrows, and scattered them; and He shot forth lightnings, discomfited them. [15]And the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuking, O Lord, at the blasting of the breath of thy nostrils.
[16]And the channels of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Thy rebuke, O ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils. [16]He hath sent down from above and taken me: he hath drawn me out of many waters.
[17]He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. [17]He hath delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hate me: for they were too strong for me.
[18]He delivered me from mine enemy most strong, and from them that hated me, for they were too mighty for me. [18]They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
[19]They confronted me in the day of my calamity; but ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ was a stay unto me. [19]He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me because he favored me.
[20]He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me. [20]The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the pureness of mine hands he recompensed me:
[21]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me. [21]Because I kept the ways of the Lord, and did not wickedly against my God.
[22]For I have kept the ways of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, and have not wickedly departed from my God. [22]For all his Laws were before me, and I did not cast away his commandments from me.
[23]For all His ordinances were before me, and I put not away His statutes from me. [23]I was upright also with him, and have kept me from my wickedness.
[24]And I was single-hearted with Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity. [24]Therefore the Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness, and according to the pureness of mine hands in his sight.
[25]Therefore hath ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes. [25]With the godly thou wilt show thyself godly: with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright.
[26]With the merciful Thou dost show Thyself merciful, with the upright man Thou dost show Thyself upright; [26]With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure, and with the froward thou wilt show thyself froward.
[27]With the pure Thou dost show Thyself pure; and with the crooked Thou dost show Thyself subtle. [27]Thus thou wilt save the poor people, and wilt cast down the proud looks.
[28]For Thou dost save the afflicted people; but the haughty eyes Thou dost humble. [28]Surely thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will lighten my darkness.
[29]For Thou dost light my lamp; ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ my God doth lighten my darkness. [29]For by thee I have broken through an host, and by my God I have leaped over a wall.
[30]For by Thee I run upon a troop; and by my God do I scale a wall. [30]The way of God is uncorrupt: the word of the Lord is tried in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.
[31]As for God, His way is perfect; the word of ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him. [31]For who is God besides the Lord? And who is mighty save our God?
[32]For who is God, save ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎? And who is a Rock, except our God? [32]God girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way upright.
[33]The God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way straight; [33]He maketh my feet like hinds feet, and setteth me upon mine high places.
[34]Who maketh my feet like hinds', and setteth me upon my high places; [34]He teacheth mine hands to fight: so that a bow of brass is broken with mine arms.
[35]Who traineth my hands for war, so that mine arms do bend a bow of brass. [35]Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand hath stayed me, and thy loving kindness hath caused me to increase.
[36]Thou hast also given me Thy shield of salvation, and Thy right hand hath holden me up; and Thy condescension hath made me great. [36]Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and mine heels have not slid.
[37]Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped. [37]I have pursued mine enemies, and taken them, and have not turned again till I had consumed them.
[38]I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them; neither did I turn back till they were consumed. [38]I have wounded them, that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.
[39]I have smitten them through, so that they are not able to rise; they are fallen under my feet. [39]For thou hast girded me with strength to battle them, that rose against me, thou hast subdued under me.
[40]For Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. [40]And thou hast given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
[41]Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, and I did cut off them that hate me. [41]They cried but there was none to save them, even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.
[42]They cried, but there was none to save; even unto ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, but He answered them not. [42]Then I did beat them small as the dust before the wind: I did tread them flat as the clay in the streets.
[43]Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets. [43]Thou hast delivered me from the contentions of the people: thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people, whom I have not known, shall serve me.
[44]Thou hast delivered me from the contentions of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known serve me. [44]As soon as they hear, they shall obey me: the strangers shall be in subjection to me.
[45]As soon as they hear of me, they obey me; the sons of the stranger dwindle away before me. [45]Strangers shall shrink away, and fear in their privy chambers.
[46]The sons of the stranger fade away, and come trembling out of their close places. [46]Let the Lord live, and blessed be my strength, and the God of my salvation be exalted.
[47]‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎ liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation; [47]It is God that giveth me power to avenge me, and subdueth the people under me.
[48]Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me. [48]O my deliverer from mine enemies, even thou hast set me up from them, that rose against me: thou hast delivered me from the cruel man.
[49]He delivereth me from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man. [49]Therefore I will praise thee, O Lord, among the nations, and will sing unto thy name.
[50]Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O ‏𐤉𐤇𐤅𐤇‎, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name. [50]Great deliverances giveth he unto his king, and showeth mercy to his anointed , even to David, and to his seed forever.
[51]Great salvation giveth He to His king; and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore. 51[No verse]
