[[A Psalm Chapter of David to give instruction.]]
[1]Blessed is he whose wickedness is forgiven, and whose sin is covered. [1]Psalmus David. Exsultate, justi, in Domino; rectos decet collaudatio.
[2]Blessed is the man, unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. [2]Confitemini Domino in cithara; in psalterio decem chordarum psallite illi.
[3]When I held my tongue, my bones consumed, or when I roared all the day, [3]Cantate ei canticum novum; bene psallite ei in vociferatione.
[4](For thine hand is heavy upon me, day and night: and my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah) [4]Quia rectum est verbum Domini, et omnia opera ejus in fide.
[5]Then I acknowledged my sin unto thee, neither hid I mine iniquity: for I thought, I will confess against myself my wickedness unto the Lord, and thou forgavest the punishment of my sin. Selah.
[6]Therefore shall every one, that is godly, make his prayer unto thee in a time, when thou mayest be found: surely in the flood of great waters they shall not come near him.
[7]Thou art my secret place: thou preservest me from trouble: thou compassest me about with joyful deliverance. Selah. [7]Congregans sicut in utre aquas maris; ponens in thesauris abyssos.
[8]I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way that thou shalt go, and I will guide thee with mine eye.
[9]Be ye not like an horse, or like a mule, which understand not: whose mouths thou dost bind with bit and bridle, lest they come near thee.
[10]Many sorrows shall come to the wicked: but he, that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him.
[11]Be glad ye righteous, and rejoice in the Lord, and be joyful all ye, that are upright in heart.
12[No verse] [12]Beata gens cujus est Dominus Deus ejus; populus quem elegit in hæreditatem sibi.
13[No verse] [13]De cælo respexit Dominus; vidit omnes filios hominum.
14[No verse] [14]De præparato habitaculo suo respexit super omnes qui habitant terram:
19[No verse] [19]Ut eruat a morte animas eorum: et alat eos in fame.
20[No verse] [20]Anima nostra sustinet Dominum, quoniam adjutor et protector noster est.
21[No verse] [21]Quia in eo lætabitur cor nostrum, et in nomine sancto ejus speravimus.
22[No verse] [22]Fiat misericordia tua, Domine, super nos, quemadmodum speravimus in te.
