[1]εἰς τὸ τέλος εἰς σύνεσιν τοῖς υἱοῖς κορε [1]To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in the time of trouble.
[2]ὃν τρόπον ἐπιποθεῖ ἡ ἔλαφος ἐπὶ τὰς πηγὰς τῶν ὑδάτων οὕτως ἐπιποθεῖ ἡ ψυχή μου πρὸς σέ ὁ θεός [2]The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
[3]ἐδίψησεν ἡ ψυχή μου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὸν ζῶντα πότε ἥξω καὶ ὀφθήσομαι τῷ προσώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ [3]The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
[4]ἐγενήθη μοι τὰ δάκρυά μου ἄρτος ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ λέγεσθαί μοι καθ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεός σου [4]I said, LORD, be merciful to me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
[5]ταῦτα ἐμνήσθην καὶ ἐξέχεα ἐπ ἐμὲ τὴν ψυχήν μου ὅτι διελεύσομαι ἐν τόπῳ σκηνῆς θαυμαστῆς ἕως τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν φωνῇ ἀγαλλιάσεως καὶ ἐξομολογήσεως ἤχου ἑορτάζοντος [5]My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
[6]ἵνα τί περίλυπος εἶ ψυχή καὶ ἵνα τί συνταράσσεις με ἔλπισον ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν ὅτι ἐξομολογήσομαι αὐτῷ σωτήριον τοῦ προσώπου μου ὁ θεός μου [6]And if he cometh to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
[7]πρὸς ἐμαυτὸν ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη διὰ τοῦτο μνησθήσομαί σου ἐκ γῆς ιορδάνου καὶ ερμωνιιμ ἀπὸ ὄρους μικροῦ [7]All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
[8]ἄβυσσος ἄβυσσον ἐπικαλεῖται εἰς φωνὴν τῶν καταρρακτῶν σου πάντες οἱ μετεωρισμοί σου καὶ τὰ κύματά σου ἐπ ἐμὲ διῆλθον [8]An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast to him: and now that he lieth he shall rise no more.
[9]ἡμέρας ἐντελεῖται κύριος τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ καὶ νυκτὸς ᾠδὴ παρ ἐμοί προσευχὴ τῷ θεῷ τῆς ζωῆς μου [9]Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
[10]ἐρῶ τῷ θεῷ ἀντιλήμπτωρ μου εἶ διὰ τί μου ἐπελάθου ἵνα τί σκυθρωπάζων πορεύομαι ἐν τῷ ἐκθλίβειν τὸν ἐχθρόν μου [10]But thou, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
[11]ἐν τῷ καταθλάσαι τὰ ὀστᾶ μου ὠνείδισάν με οἱ θλίβοντές με ἐν τῷ λέγειν αὐτούς μοι καθ ἑκάστην ἡμέραν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεός σου [11]By this I know that thou favorest me, because my enemy doth not triumph over me.
[12]ἵνα τί περίλυπος εἶ ψυχή καὶ ἵνα τί συνταράσσεις με ἔλπισον ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν ὅτι ἐξομολογήσομαι αὐτῷ ἡ σωτηρία τοῦ προσώπου μου ὁ θεός μου [12]And as for me, thou upholdest me in my integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
13[No verse] [13]Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and amen.
