Pes(Lam)
Vulgata Clementina (1592)
Vul
[1]MY soul waits upon God; from him comes my salvation. [1]Psalmus David, cum esset in deserto Idumææ.
[2]He only is my God and my salvation; he is my great defense; I shall not be moved. [2]Deus, Deus meus, ad te de luce vigilo. Sitivit in te anima mea; quam multipliciter tibi caro mea !
[3]How long will you threaten a man so that you may kill him? Like a crumbling wall shall you be and as a tottering fence. [3]In terra deserta, et invia, et inaquosa, sic in sancto apparui tibi, ut viderem virtutem tuam et gloriam tuam.
[4]For you have thought to cast him down from his excellency; you delight in lies; you bless with your mouths, but curse with your hearts. [4]Quoniam melior est misericordia tua super vitas, labia mea laudabunt te.
[5]My soul, wait only upon God; for my salvation is from him. [5]Sic benedicam te in vita mea; et in nomine tuo levabo manus meas.
[6]He only is my God and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be moved. [6]Sicut adipe et pinguedine repleatur anima mea, et labiis exsultationis laudabit os meum.
[7]In God is my salvation and my glory; God is my strength, my refuge, and my hope. [7]Si memor fui tui super stratum meum, in matutinis meditabor in te.
[8]Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your hearts before him; God is a refuge for us. [8]Quia fuisti adjutor meus, et in velamento alarum tuarum exsultabo.
[9]Surely all untrue men are like vapor; when they are placed in the balance, they are found wanting. [9]Adhæsit anima mea post te; me suscepit dextera tua.
[10]Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if riches increase, let not your heart rejoice over them. [10]Ipsi vero in vanum quæsierunt animam meam: introibunt in inferiora terræ;
[11]God has said this once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God. [11]tradentur in manus gladii; partes vulpium erunt.
[12]Also unto thee, O LORD, belongs mercy; for thou renderest to every man according to his work. [12]Rex vero lætabitur in Deo; laudabuntur omnes qui jurant in eo, quia obstructum est os loquentium iniqua.
