[1]The title of the sixte and eiytetithe salm. `The salm of the song of the sones of Chore. [1]INCLINE thine ear, O LORD; hear me, for I am poor and needy.
[2]the Lord loueth the yatis of Sion, more than alle the tabernaclis of Jacob. [2]Preserve my soul, for thou art holy; O thou God, save thy servant who trusts in thee.
[3]Thou citee of God, with outen ende; gloriouse thingis ben seide of thee. [3]Be merciful to me, O LORD; for I cry unto thee daily.
[4]I schal be myndeful of Raab, and Babiloyne; knowynge me. Lo! aliens, and Tyre, and the puple of Ethiopiens; thei weren there. [4]Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
[5]Whether a man schal seie to Sion, And a man is born ther ynne; and that man altherhiyeste foundide it? [5]For thou, O LORD, art good; and thy lovingkindness is abundant to all who call upon thee.
[6]The Lord schal telle in the scripturis of puplis; and of these princis, that weren ther ynne. [6]Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
[7]As the dwellyng `of alle that ben glad; is in thee. [7]In the day of my trouble I have called upon thee, and thou hast answered me.
8[No verse] [8]There is none like thee, O LORD my God; neither are there any works like thy works.
9[No verse] [9]All the nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O LORD, and shall glorify thy name.
10[No verse] [10]For thou art great, and doest wondrous things; thou art God alone.
11[No verse] [11]Show me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in the truth; my heart will rejoice with them that worship thy name.
12[No verse] [12]I will praise thee, O LORD my God, with all my heart; and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
13[No verse] [13]For great is thy lovingkindness toward me; and thou hast delivered my soul from the depths of hell.
14[No verse] [14]O God, the wicked are risen against me, and the assembly of violent men has sought after my soul; and they have not been mindful of thee.
15[No verse] [15]But thou, O LORD God, art full of compassion and gracious, longsuffering and plenteous in mercy and truth.
16[No verse] [16]O turn to me and have mercy upon me; give strength to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid.
17[No verse] [17]Show me a token for good, that they which hate me may see it and be ashamed, because thou, LORD, hast helped me and comforted me.
