| [1]Beholde what loue the father hath shewed on vs, that we shoulde be called the sonnes of god: For this cause the worlde knoweth you not, because it knoweth not hym |
[1]And see how great is the love of the Father toward us, that sons he hath called us, and also made us! Therefore the world doth not know us, because that it hath also not known him. |
| [2]Dearely beloued, nowe are we the sonnes of God, and yet it doth not appeare what we shalbe: But we knowe that when he shall appeare, we shalbe lyke hym, for we shall see hym as he is |
[2]MY beloved, now are we the sons of Aloha; and it is not manifest, as yet, what we are to become, but we know, that when he is manifested, in his likeness we are and see him, according to that which he is. |
| [3]And euery man that hath this hope in hym, purgeth hym selfe, euen as he also is pure |
[3]And every one who hath in him this hope, purifieth himself, as He is pure. |
| [4]Whosoeuer committeth sinne, transgresseth also the lawe: for sinne is the transgression of the lawe |
[4]But whoever committeth sin doeth iniquity; for all sin is iniquity. |
| [5]And ye know that he appeared to take away our sinnes, & in hym is no sinne |
[5]And you know that he was manifested to bear our sins, and sin in him is not. |
| [6]As many as byde in hym, sinne not: whosoeuer sinneth, hath not seene him, neither knowen hym |
[6]And every one who in him abideth, sinneth not. And every one who sinneth, hath not seen him, nor known him. |
| [7]Babes, let no man deceaue you: He that doeth righteousnes, is ryghteous, euen as he is righteous |
[7]My sons, let no man deceive you: he who worketh righteousness is righteous, as also the Meshiha himself is righteous. |
| [8]He that committeth sinne, is of the deuyll: for the deuyll sinneth sence the beginning. For this purpose appeared the sonne of God, to loose the workes of the deuyll |
[8]And he who doeth sin is of Satana, because that from the commencement Satana was a sinner. And for this cause did the Son of Aloha appear, that he might destroy the works of Satana. |
| [9]Whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not: for his seede remayneth in him, and he can not sinne, because he is borne of God |
[9]Every one who is born of Aloha, sin doth not work, because that his seed is in him, and he cannot sin, because of Aloha he is born. |
| [10]In this are ye children of God knowe, and the chyldren of the deuyll: Whosoeuer doth not ryghteousnesse, is not of God, neither he that loueth not his brother |
[10]In this are distinguished the sons of Aloha from the sons of Satana; every one who doeth not righteousness, nor loveth his brother, is not of Aloha. |
| [11]For this is the tidynges that ye heard from the begynnyng, that ye shoulde loue one another |
[11]For this is the commandment which you have heard from before, that you love one another. |
| [12]Not as Cain, which was of that wicked, and slewe his brother: And wherfore slewe he hym? Because his owne workes were euyll, and his brothers good |
[12]Not as Koen, who was from the Evil, and killed his brother. And on what account killed he him? unless that his own works were evil and his brother's righteous. |
| [13]Maruayle not my brethren though the worlde hate you |
[13]Do not wonder, my brethren, if the world hate you. |
| [14]We knowe, that we are translated from death vnto lyfe, because we loue the brethren. He that loueth not his brother, abideth in death |
[14]We know that we have passed from death unto life, by this, that we love our brethren. He who loveth not his brother, in death continueth. |
| [15]Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a manslear: And ye knowe that no manslear, hath eternall life abidyng in hym |
[15]For every one who hateth his brother is a man-killer; and we know that in no man-killer can abide the life which is eternal. |
| [16]Hereby perceaue we loue, because he layde downe his lyfe for vs, & we ought to lay downe our lyues for the brethren |
[16]In this we know His love toward us, that he gave himself for us; [so] also it is right for us for the sake of our brethren to give ourselves. |
| [17]But who so hath this worldes good, and seeth his brother haue neede, and shutteth vp his compassion from hym: howe dwelleth the loue of God in hym |
[17]And he who hath the possession of the world, and shall see his brother that he needeth, and shall shut his compassions from him, how is there in him the love of Aloha? |
| [18]My babes, let vs not loue in worde, neither in tongue: but in deede and in veritie |
[18]My sons, let us not love one another in words and in tongue, but in works and in truth. |
| [19]Hereby we knowe that we are of the trueth, and shall assure our heartes before hym |
[19]And by this we make known that we are of the truth, and before that he cometh we make confident our hearts. |
| [20]For yf our heart condempne vs, God is greater then our heart, and knoweth all thynges |
[20]And if our heart condemn us, how much [more] Aloha, who is greater than our heart, and knoweth every thing! |
| [21]Dearely beloued, yf our heart condempne vs not, then haue we boldnesse towarde God |
[21]My beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have openness of face before Aloha. |
| [22]And whatsoeuer we aske, we receaue of hym, because we kepe his commaundementes, and do those thynges which are pleasyng in his syght |
[22]And whatever we ask, we shall receive from him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things which are beautifulⓘ before him. |
| [23]And this is his comaundement, that we beleue on the name of his sonne Iesus Christe, and loue one another, as he gaue commaundement |
[23]And this is his commandment, That we believe in the name of his Son Jeshu Meshiha, and love one another, as he hath commanded us. |
| [24]And he that kepeth his commaundementes, dwelleth in him, and he in him: and hereby we knowe that he abideth in vs, euen by the spirite which he hath geuen vs |
[24]And he who keepeth his commandments, is kept by him, and he dwelleth in him: and by this we perceive that he dwelleth in us, by his Spirit whomⓘ he hath given to us. |
