1 Timothy

1
[1]Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior, and of our Lord Jesus Christ our hope, [1]PAULOS, an apostle of Jeshu Meshiha, by the commandment of Aloha our Saviour, and of Jeshu Meshiha our hope;
[2]Unto Timotheus my natural son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Jesus our Lord. [2]To Timotheos, my true son in the faith: grace and mercy and peace from Aloha our Father and Jeshu Meshiha our Lord.
[3]As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so do, that thou mayest command some, that they teach none other doctrine, [3]I requested of thee, when I would go into Makedunia, to remain at Ephesos, and instruct certain men that they teach not various doctrines,
[4]Neither that they give heed to fables and genealogies which are endless, which breed questions rather than godly edifying which is by faith. [4]Nor throw themselves [away] upon stories and tales of generations which have no end, [but] which rather subserve contentions, and not edification in the faith of Aloha.
[5]For the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned. [5]But the end of the commandment is love, from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from genuine faith.
[6]From the which things some have erred, and have turned unto vain jangling. [6]And from them that have erred, and have declined to vain words,
[7]They would be doctors of the Law, and yet understand not what they speak, neither whereof they affirm. [7]Seeking to become teachers of the law, while they understand not what they speak, nor that concerning which they contend.
[8]And we know, that the Law is good, if a man use it lawfully, [8]But we know that the law is good, if a man according to the law converse in it;
[9]Knowing this, that the Law is not given unto a righteous man, but unto the lawless and disobedient, to the ungodly, and to sinners, to the unholy, and to the profane, to murderers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers, [9]Knowing that against the righteous the law is not set, but against the evil, and rebels, and the wicked, and sinners, and the dishonest, and those who are not pure, and those who strike their fathers, and those who strike their mothers, and murderers,
[10]To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to liars, to the perjured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine, [10]And fornicators, and liers with men, and stealers of the free, and liars, and doers against an oath and whatever [else] is opposed to the healthful doctrine
[11]Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed unto me. [11]Of the gospel of the glory of the blessed Aloha, with which I have been intrusted.
[12]Therefore I thank him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Jesus our Lord: for he counted me faithful, and put me in his service: [12]And I thank him who hath empowered me, our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, who accounted me faithful, and constituted me his minister;
[13]When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and an oppressor: but I was received to mercy: for I did it ignorantly through unbelief. [13]Me, who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious; but I received mercy, because while ignorant I did it, without faith.
[14]But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus. [14]But in me hath abounded the grace of our Lord, and faith and love which are in Jeshu Meshiha.
[15]This is a true saying, and by all means worthy to be received, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. [15]Faithful is the word, and worthy of reception that Jeshu the Meshiha came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first.
[16]Notwithstanding, for this cause was I received to mercy, that Jesus Christ should first show on me all long suffering unto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come believe in him unto eternal life. [16]But for this he had compassion upon me, that in me first Jeshu Meshiha might show all long-suffering, as an exhibition for them who should believe in him unto everlasting life.
[17]Now unto the King everlasting, immortal, invisible, unto God only wise, be honor and glory forever, and ever, Amen. [17]But to the King who is eternal, incorruptible, and unseen, who is one Aloha, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
[18]This commandment commit I unto thee, son Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before upon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight, [18]This commandment I commit to thee, my son Timotheos, according to the early prophecies which were concerning thee, that thou mayest war through them this good warfare
[19]Having faith and a good conscience, which some have put away, and as concerning faith, have made shipwreck. [19]With faith and with a good conscience. For those who this have put away from them of faith have been emptied;
[20]Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they might learn not to blaspheme. [20]As Hymeneos and Alexandros, whom I have delivered to Satana, that they may not blaspheme.
